Aris turned to head back to his room, gaze briefly sweeping over the other people in the lobby but paying little mind to them. His thoughts were elsewhere, racing. Now that he'd paid for his room, he didn't have to worry about that anymore, at least, and could move on to more important matt—
Wait a second. That was—
He had already taken about two steps before he stopped and did a double-take. Maybe his mind was playing tricks on him, knowing how much stress he was under as it was and thinking of all the evil ways to dream up worse things, but— no. Aris's glare landed on perhaps the worst person who could possibly be here right now.
Dear God, please no. Not here. Not now.
Felix sucked in a breath when the man turned around. He felt his heart plummet into his toes as they locked eyes. How was he even here right now? They were across the country, how the hell was this possible? Whatever ancient deity the redhead had pissed off must really have it out for him because Jesus Christ, at this point he'd rather just curl up in a hole and die. He really, really did not want to have a breakdown in front of anyone but especially him. He could practically feel Aris's eyes on him- he subconsciously wondered whether he would voice any of his insults aloud.
Keeping tears back with pure spite at this point, Felix stuck up his middle finger to shut the asshole up before he could say anything. He stood and made his way over to the girl behind the counter, who had watched the exchange with mild curiosity. She cleared her throat and slid him a keycard. "…Room 10. Enjoy your stay." He nodded at her, taking the card and slipping it into his wallet. "Thanks," he responded dryly, before turning back to the front door to go and track down his room.
