Rook laughed and backflipped out of the way, using his powers and landing on a fire escape two stories above, but he dropped the rocks before they could get to Cyren. "Aha! I told you it was more creative." He raised an eyebrow. "So, looks like I was right. My right-hand man owns me a new suit. Your relationship seems gotten more creative as well, hm?" He smirked.
"say it like that again and ills how you a few things I've been working on. Butt kicking with a side of sarcasm" instameaf of going after Rook, he went towards Cyren "you ok?"
"Riiiiiight. Well, as much as I've enjoyed third-wheeling this party, I've got someplace to be." he saluted ridiculously, grinning like the madman he was, and took off, jumping from rooftop to rooftop, droping and exploding grenades as he went.
Cyren blinked quickly, her heart pounding ridiculously. "Yes, I'm fine. We have to catch him, c'mon!" She used her powers to boost onto the rooftop and follow Rook.
He followed close behind her, trying to absorb as much fire as possible "you keep going, I'm going to see if theres any injured." He called and banked left towards an explosion sight
Cyren nodded and boosted forward.
He landed gently and looked in the buildings for anyone, already seeing a crowd of people up ahead
Cyren sprinted faster. "Give up, Rook!"
"Why? You haven't caught me yet!" Rook laughed maniacally. "Why don't you give up and I'll leave you lovebirds alone! You're the ones that always bug me." Another grenade exploded, sending debris flying into the streets below. "But you guys can't seem to leave me alone!" BOOM Another four grenades erupted.
Cyren gritted her teeth and ran faster, hoping Fuego was taking care of the people. If she could just stop him from throwing grenades…
He ran towards the crowd "is everyone alright?" He saw some nods, then a Yelp "my daughter's in there please!" Fuego nodded and rushed into the delapidated building
Cyren fought the urge to check on Fuego. He's fine! she told herself.
Rook grinned at the chaos he was creating. He loved the game. Especially the destruction part. He looked behind him and frowned. Cyren was too close. He concentrated his powers, and the piping tore underneath the street, and water erupted from the burst pipes, sending a cascade of flooding towards the crowd of people near the burning building.
Cyren jerked to a sudden stop, her eyes widening. "No!" she cried, leaping directly into the floodpath and stopping the movement of the water almost instantly.
Too distracted with his search for the girl, Fuego didn't see the wall of water rising. "HELLO! Anyone here!" He heard a slight whimper in the corner and ran over to find a teenage girl, not much older than him "are you the devil?" She asked, looking him over "close enough," he said with a slight smile. "See the exit?" He asked as he guided her out of the corner and towards the exit. He heard creaking and then a sudden rushing noise as beams began to fall "RUN!" The girl did as he said and made it to the exit. Cas, did not
Cyren looked over and saw a girl running out of a collapsing, burning building. "Fuego!" she screamed, holding back the water with one hand. With the other, she shot a jet of water at the flames to extinguish them.
(Think Scarlet Witch fighting off Thanos and destroying the Mind Stone in Vision.)
(ha that works great!)
Fuego groaned from the pain in his back. He managed to stagger out of the building. He glanced at cyen before falling to the ground
Horrified, Cyren screamed his name, continuing to put out any remaining flames. "Fuego! Wake up!" She wanted to desperately to run over to him, but she could move, stuck between waters.
As a way to heal, Fuego started to out the fires around him. Groaning once more he got up and nodded to her.
She could feel her power draining from the excessive use – first Jackson yesterday, now this. The hand shooting the jet of water into the flames lowered. She was breathing heavily and still holding back the flood.
"oh no not again…." Fuego ran towards Cyren and helped out my sodering the pipes together to stop the wall of water
Cyren led the water to trickle down the sides of the street and into drains. The second the last drop vanished, all tension left her body and she collapsed onto the pavement – completely and utterly exhausted.
He ran over to her and cradled her in his arms "hey, come on, you're too heavy for me to carry, lay off the donuts." he tried to joke, but it came out harsh. he picked her up gently and ran to their woods
Rook stopped and looked out at the chaos he had created. He grinned. It looked like his diversion had been successful. It was time to go dark, and wait.
