He honestly should have expected the answers that Quin gave in response. The man seemed to have sarcasm oozing out of every pore and bone in his body just as magic expelled from his own. Koa rolled his eyes, although there was the barest hint of a smile on his lips as he did so to indicate he wasn't annoyed, for once in his life. Quin was interesting alright, and definitely someone who he could use to his advantage if he needed. The man was big, bigger than he was, and although he was good at making enemies if the little demon incident implied anything, he wouldn't be a bad ally.

And maybe he could use a friend. Or at least something that could be considered a friend until one of them inevitably died by the end of the whole ordeal.

Someone wold end up on top at the end of it all. Someone would be on the throne, someone would rule for however long they were allowed or until they ended up dead on the marble floors, and that someone would be one of those in the group standing around listening to the guards speak of the rules. Half looked too thrilled to be listening to something that was essentially a lecture, the other half, much like Koa and Quin, seemed to want to tear their own ears off instead. Exactly why he wanted to get out of there before the event dragged on and he passed out where he was standing.

"Oh absolutely," The earth-spirit said in response, rocking back from the back of his heels to the tip of his toes, "I'm enthralled. My brain doesn't feel like it's dripping out my ears whatsoever," He glanced around at the sides of the group, the guards who had also tuned out and tried to assess what the easiest route would be to get out of there, "If I don't get outta here soon I might just kill myself."

“Oh, same.” Koa’s words made Quin look over him more carefully for a moment longer. He scanned the earth spirit up and down for a brief moment, noting the impatience, the restlessness, the boredom, the assessing cleverness in his gaze, and made a decision.

The brunette turned and motioned toward the edge of the crowd with his head, giving it a sharp jerk. “Want to get out of here?” He asked, voice only a little quieter than his normal speaking tone. “Or we could see how many people we could steal the weapons from before we get caught. After all, they haven’t said stealing isn’t allowed yet.”

Quin half wondered if the guard giving the instructions would say no stealing at that very moment, but nothing happened and he gave a small sigh of disappointment. If only he were that good at guessing the things that would happen next.
