So, I got the urge to blend the 'girl in an all guys school' trope and the 'private school besieged by dark happenings' trope at the same time, and ended up with this.

Old buildings. Secret clubs for those with strange abilities. And underneath all that, a dangerous plot summon something that is best left unsummoned.

That's just Cloverfall Academy. Until last year, Cloverfall was an all boys school, one of the oldest schools in Virginia. Known for turning out anything from politicians to CEOs to scholars, it's gained a reputation for being a great school. But underneath the wealthy and respectable facade of this learning institution lies something darker. And the key to it may lie in one of three people.

Catori Soua. The first. The only female to ever go to the school, only there to be with her best friend, and to get away from the nightmares of one horrible night that still follow her. She's hiding things, a blend of secrets that are known and unknown to even the people closest to her. But if anyone's perfect for finding out the secrets the school itself holds, it's her.

A teacher with a dark secret, the second. Though, the only problem is finding out who and what.

The third, is a student. Another student at the school, one with a handful of his own secrets, and apparently, a knack for calling trouble to him. He didn't exactly choose to get caught up in whatever this is, but trouble loves the unwitting.

Now, the only problem is figuring out if 'demon hunting' and mystery solving count as extracurricular activities the school board condones.

  1. No OP characters, or I will yeet your ass outta here before you can say 'this bitch empty'. I can't stand invincible characters, man. Mary/Gary Sues/Stues are a hard nope from yours truly as well.

  2. Proper grammar, punctuation, and capitalization, please. I can get making a few mistakes, when you're tired, or English ain't your first language(It's mine, and even I have my issues), but if it's too common a thing, it irks the hell outta me. Call me a bitch, but hey.

  3. Slurs, homophobia, transphobia, rascism, sexism, anything that ends in -ism and that harms or promotes the harm of other people will not be tolerated. See my first threat. However! For plot devices, it might be considered, if you talk to me about it first.

  4. Detailed-ish responses, please. Think three or more sentences. To keep it going.

  5. Please, be on fairly often. Vacations, school, and jobs are all things I can get, but I'd like for this to have a regular pace!

  6. Rated Spicey for just that, Spicey things. Whether it be mature topics, smexy things, or, gasp, blood, this is the only warning I'll remember to give.

  7. Please keep the plot going! It's really hard for me to be invested in a roleplay if the other person reacts more than acts, and I'm excited about this premise and would love to keep it going as long as I can.

  8. I have the full right to add and edit this list. I also have the right to boot you if you're causing too many problems.

Name: Catori Soua

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Sexuality: Pan, maybe. She's only dated two people before though.

Appearance: This, basically. Like legit that's her, the first image there. Her cheekbones are insane, an inherited gene from both sides of her family.

Hair color/style: Black. It falls long, past her shoulders, and is semi-curly. More so when it's wet.

Eye color/shape: Rounded almond eyes, that are a light-ish brown. When the light catches them during the day, they can sort of look a honey brown. At night or in the dark, though, they reflect light, which shows in photos a lot of the time as a red glint. Scares the shit out of other people.

Skin tone: Bronze.

Height: 5' exactly.

Build: Curvy, but hiding muscle from working on cars and constant running around the woods of Little Leaf.

Scars: Many. A bunch are old ones, from an incident as a kid. Some are newer, from minor things like falling or getting into a scuffle with strange creatures, or just an accident while working on cars. She has two very noticeable ones, the first right over her heart, and the second mirroring it on the back. They're not too large, but are definitely not from a heart surgery. In fact, if someone knew their weapons, they might realize that they were made by a blade. A sword, to be exact.

Piercings/Jewelry: Ears, tongue, cartillage, and nose are all pierced. Wears her mother's wedding ring on a chain around her neck. Her best friend also goes to the school, and they have matching charms on charm bracelets, the words 'partners in crime' on a circle with an engraved handcuff on the other side. The other charms include a marigold, a small cartoon looking ghost, and what may or may not be a chicken.

Tattoos: This on the back of her neck. The same date on the bracelet is tattooed on her left forearm, near her wrist, and underneath it the words "You deserve to live. Live for me. The way I can't." Jo has the same tattoo, minus the quote.

Casual clothing: Best way to describe it? Edgy ho, according to her. Jean shorts, usually high waisted, jeans, leggings, skirts, anything as long as it's got rips or is just slightly 'edgy'. Loves cropped tops and tank tops, and usually wears a leather jacket. Her scars aren't something she tries to hide, usually. Boots? She's in. Adores jewelry but doesn't get to wear it often. .

Uniform/How they wear it: Maybe wears the skirt a bit too short, and refuses to wear the tights. Instead wears really short shorts under it. The button up shirt might unbuttoned a little too much, especially considering she doesn't wear a tank top under it, like she maybe should. Rolls the sleeves up. Loves her converse, which have definitely seen some shit. Had the school blazer at some point and lost it on the first day, but did manage to keep the tie, which is unfailingly strung loose over her shoulders.

Personality: Y'know Lancelot? Think that, but with like no moral code. She doesn't care what she has to do, as long as it's for the good of other people. If someone needs help, she'll do anything to help them, risking her own life and well being. It's this whole 'I have nothing to lose, so I'm going to use that to help people who do' complex. Has quite the amount of pent up anger simmering within her that she refuses to acknowledge. Cares about people close to her, though. She's working hard on learning to live.

Backstory: Oh boy. Oh boy Oh boy. I'm leaving this vague for plot reasons, but what you need to know is that there was an incident when she was a kid involving the death of her mother and something happening to her. And that during her junior year, which was at the public school in Little Leaf, she was involved in the disappearances of multiple local teens, and was one of the group of teens who found them and apprehended the culprit. Nobody actually knows much of what happened, because all of the teens, even those kidnapped, kept all details but the necessary ones to themselves. And the authorities didn't mind, because they were just happy to have the kids back and safe.

Talents/Things They're Good At: Mechanics. She's incredibly smart, too, but thanks to her lack of giving a shit about anything, nobody really gets to find out that. She's an incredible cartographer, and has maps of the forest surrounding Little Leaf, even places that nobody has ever mapped out or gone near. Great at medical related things, thanks to having to teach herself how to fix up injuries to hide them from her dad.
She's more a science/history kid than math or ELA, but she's like….a weird version of the science/history kid. The kid who counters the teacher's history lesson with facts that the teacher's like 'there is absolutely no way', and then after the other students google it it turns out she's right. Always obscure things. And she's the kid who believes in the weirdest scientific theories.

Magic/Inhuman Abilities(if they have them): Necrooooooomancy. Mainly, she sees and talks to ghosts. She can, however, summon and bring rise to the dead, or make ghosts near her stronger. It's draining, and too much of it causes horrible nose bleeds and can actually kill her, which she's gotten close to a couple of times.

Other: Her and Jo may be hiding a hen in their dorm room. Only Friday and the weekends though. Nobody's sure where it goes inbetween then.

@saor_illust school

(Alright, here you go! It's from a private rp)
(Amber tried to shake the memory of the voice that echoed through her head, driving her nuts. "Hello?" she heard the male voice running through her head. She hadn't been to the woods in weeks; her spring break had ended already. And she was forced to go to school, and they had piled homework on her. Ugh, it was so annoying. Luckily, her step-mom had forced her to go outside and take a break from her homework about five minutes ago. The woods were so relaxing, she loved to take walks to that clearing in the middle of the forest and just sit, admiring the beauty of the forest. She got a head start, jogging down the main path that had worn down by her feet from her walking that way every day for about two weeks. It was starting to get a bit overgrown for lack of her adventures to the woods, but that didn't matter much. When she got there, she lay down, her wavy red hair splayed out on the dirt.)

@saor_illust school

(Thank you! I do have a question, actually. If you're playing the role of the "first and only female to attend the previously all-boys school," which one am I playing? There are two other what I would consider roles, listed in the plot, so I'm a lil confused. I assume I'll be playing "the third, a student" but I just want to check in with you.)

@saor_illust school

(Sorry I took so long! Is he good?)

Name: Ronan Margausson
Age: 17
Gender: male
Sexuality: straight
Appearance: https://pin.it/ljnkmesukst5lt
Hair color/style: Dirty blonde. It's medium short hair. If you stretched a couple strands of hair out they would measure to be about 6 inches.
Eye color/shape: Blue close set downturned eyes. (Reference: https://pin.it/njz2er3qq7xuae)
Skin tone: Latte (Ref)
Height: 5 feet 10 inches.
Build: Not super muscly, but not super skinny and thin either. Mesomorph
Scars: Just a small one. It's located right where the hand itself ends and the wrist begans, on the vein when he accidentally fell into a small glass table as a kid, and hit his hand/wrist on the sharp corner of the glass.
Piercings/Jewelry: Nope
Tattoos: None either
Casual clothing: Usually some sort of jeans, t-shirt, and a button down shirt to go over it.
Uniform/How they wear it: He doesn't really care about the uniform too much so he wears it as expected of him.
Personality: Ronan doesn't know how he does it, but somehow he always draws some sort of trouble to him. Whether it's tripping over a tree branch, or forgetting his homework at home, or even stumbling upon a murder scene (not that he's actually even done such a thing), he always seems to attract that trouble to him and because of that, Ronan adopted a more careful and cautious personality as he grew older. Instead of staying up late and partying all night, he goes to bed every day at 10pm and doesn't attend parties in fear of… well, attracting slightly worse trouble than tripping over a tree branch. He's quite the introvert, though he's definitely a nerd. A math nerd, to be exact. He would do anything to make sure his family stays safe, as he doesn't know of any other family. That's right, he doesn't know if he has any living cousins, aunts, uncles, grandmas, or grandpas. So he will always put his family first, and not himself.
Backstory: (Nevermind that Brookside Elementary is an actual school, or schools, should I say. It just sounds nice.) As a kid, Ronan attended Brookside Elementary for three years before moving to Virginia, all the way from Calgary in Canada. The move was a tough one for Ronan, and he almost failed fourth grade before his parents forced him to raise his grade and actually start working hard in school. At first, his parents were worried that he was lonely and the other kids didn't like him, but after discovering that he was an introvert (they talked to him) they decided to leave him alone, since they were pretty busy nowadays with the move. There, he attended Birdneck Elementary for the remaining three years of grade school before attending Cloverfall Academy.
Talents/Things They're Good At: Ronan plays the piano. He first started lessons in fourth grade, and continued them all the way up to the age of 15, where he decided to discontinue them, as he found it easier to start self-teaching himself instead. He also practices photography as a hobby, but he doesn't really do it that often.
Magic/Inhuman Abilities(if they have them): Ability to manipulate light and shadows. (Let me know if having the ability to manipulate both is too OP)
Other: nope

@croccin-champagne

for the uniform thing: just think your basic school uniform, like, the most cliche one you can, with the colors forest green and grey.

for the magic: i left that sort of ambiguous, because he isn't required to have magic, but if you wanted him to, he absolutely could. it would supply a possible way for them to meet, depending on the magic he did have, like in one of the underground magic clubs, but it's totally cool if you don't want him to have magic. left up to you!

as for the rest of him, i absolutely adore him. his 'family first' mentality is gonna match up with catori's so well, though he might absolutely hate how reckless and uncaring of her own personal safety she is. it'll be fun to see! poor boy is gonna have to put up with the Jo and Catori chaos squad tho

@saor_illust school

okay! so i'll quickly update the uniform and magic stuff!
also, yeah, he will. and… he absolutely will hate how reckless catori is with her own personal safety, especially if he's with her.

@croccin-champagne

Catori Soua's dorm was a mess, and so was she.

The first term was starting today, after giving the students a couple days to settle into their living quarters, meet their dormmates, and get a feel for the school. Which was all well and great, except that meant that Catori had even more time to not decorate her room. Procrastination was a bit, and when you spent more time making your maps than hanging them…it made obvious sense they weren't hanging up. So, she had to get them up before breakfast in the main hall, or they wouldn't get up until a month into the school year.

That, itself, took her a good half an hour, and she was incredibly grateful she'd gotten up so early. Because that left her time to get ready, as well. Which was necessary, when her hair refused to do anything but look lie a bird's nest until it had product in it. By the time she was ready, she was cutting it close, Jo having already gone down to make sure he didn't miss their Prefect's role call. Way to make a name for yourself on your first day. Armed with her favorite lipstick, a few too many adjustments to the uniform, and a wicked smile, she made her way out of the dorm room, and down to the main hall.

And subsequently decided she would love to just sleep. There were too many people in there, and every single one of them, with the exception of a handful of teachers, were male. Which only spelled trouble for someone who's found family was entirely male. Scanning the tables and ignoring the curious and occasionally judgmental eyes on her, she spotted Jo, making her way over to him and the blonde boy he was casually chatting up. "I want to set the school on fire." Were her words of greeting, as she plopped down next to him, arm over his shoulder, and turned her smile on the boy he was talking to. More fangs than friendly, she arched an eyebrow. "Wanna help?"

@saor_illust school

(Yeah, I get what you mean! Did you have any suggestions for the limitations? If not, that's fine.)
Ronan had just been peacefully at an empty table when some random boy had plopped down next to him. It was a little odd, but he didn't question Jo's decision. He didn't really give much answers to the questions the other boy asked, mostly giving one or two word answers. However, he did make small talk, though he didn't exactly enjoy it, he didn't want to seem rude. turned to Catori, raising an eyebrow. "This your girlfriend?" he teased, asking more Jo than Catori, but still asking them both. However, when Catori said that she wanted to set the school on fire, he didn't really understand it at first, but when she asked if he wanted to help, that's when it really set in. "You want to set the school on fire?" he asked, almost in disbelief.

@croccin-champagne

"I want to set anything on fire, darling, regardless. The flames are pretty." Catori said simply, plucking up Jo's fork despite his protests and skewering a fried egg with it. Her smile stayed in place as she nibbled on the egg, eyes still on the poor boy she'd decided to bother. "And no, I'm not his girlfriend." She said, shaking her head as she set the fork down. Grabbing the wrist of her friend, who had decided his toast was more important than whatever was going on here, she lifted his hand, pointing to the bracelet on it and then to her own bracelet. "Best friend. He's gonna set something on fire with me because he's legally required to. Signed the contract."

"Contracts signed by a minor aren't legally binding, Soua." Jo said simply, tugging his hand free to take back his fork. "I'm not lighting the school on fire. However, I will gladly light a desk on fire, so if you want to get a hold of one…" He left it at that, flashing her a wink and earning an actual, real grin, paired with a laugh that sounded semi musical. "Anyway, Ronan, this is Catori Soua. A major dumbass and weirdo."

@saor_illust school

"Hm. Well, it's nice to meet you, Catori Soua," Ronan replied, extending a hand across Jo. He was an introvert, for sure, but that didn't mean he didn't always try to be polite whenever possible. "Uh, I'm Ronan, Ronan Margausson," he added, introducing himself. Turning back to Jo, he asked, "Does… is setting things on fire what she normally does?"

@croccin-champagne

Catori accepted the hand, grip strong and firm in a simultaneously surprising and unsurprising move. She didn't say anything, sharing a strange look with Jo before picking off his plate as he spoke, swapping their roles.

"On occasion. She's more into spending hours in the woods and picking fights with guys twice her size. Not that that's hard, exactly." Jo said, rolling his eyes slightly. "Though, back during our junior year, she set our history teacher's car on fire. To be fair though, he was-"

"An ass." Catori cut him off suddenly, a dark look crossing her face as she looked up at him. Jo nodded once, rubbing the back of his neck and backtracking slightly.

"Yeah, right. Just an ass. Do us a favor and don't tell anyone else though. We're trying to keep Catori out of jail, after the last stint."

@saor_illust school

A surprised look crossed over Ronan's face for a split second. So this new girl, she was one of those rebellious ones, huh? She'd get along nicely with him, he thought, not at all referencing Jo. Actually, he was referencing that one guy in his math class who was obviously very smart but he preferred to just do whatever. He was often seen roaming the halls, goofing off, or headed to the principal's office, if he wasn't there already. "So… Catori, I guess you're one of those rebellious ones?"

@croccin-champagne

Catori hummed thoughtfully, head tilted as she mulled that over. "Sometimes. If by rebellious, you mean I just don't care. I'm only purposefully 'rebellious' for revenge purposes." She said, shrugging a shoulder and cutting up the egg she'd nibbled off of into tiny pieces. The way she was sitting, her shirt shifted enough that the scar on her chest became plainly visible. "I prefer to live the way I want, regardless of societal conventions. What kind of person are you, Ronan? Wait, let me guess." She looked up at him, arching a brow as she looked him over. "Overly cautious. Clumsy, maybe, or maybe just someone who has a knack for finding themselves in the midst of accidents. Hmm….doesn't care much for rulebreaking, either, but won't snitch, unless it's going to get someone hurt. How right am I so far?"

@saor_illust school

His head snapped up, his gaze immediately landing on Catori. "How-?" was all he managed to say, surprise crossing his face again, but this time there to stay – at least for a little while. Ronan didn't know what to say, let alone think about this. All of this was so new, he just sat there, his jaw hanging open. After a minute or so, he finally shut his mouth, glancing back up at Catori. He took a deep breath and started again. "How did you know? What else do you know?"

@croccin-champagne

That wicked smile of hers returned, and she tapped her temple with two fingers. "You're an open book, darling. Your whole self is written out in every single movement and action. Technically, most people are like that." Catori said, returning to her tiny pieces of egg and scooping them all up at once to eat. "Family boy. Strong moral compass. Probably do well in your classes, maybe even excel." Looking back up at him again, she squinted for a moment. "Homesick." The only reason she could tell that was that she knew the look well, used to be able to pick it out in her features and expressions. Still could, sometimes.

@saor_illust school

"Did- did you self- teach yourself all of that?" Ronan asked. He wondered whether Catori examined everyone she met in such thorough detail. "Also, homesick? Where'd you get that idea?" For a split-second he debated whether or not to ask Catori whether she examined everyone she met like she did him. In the end, he decided against it, and picked up a fork to start on the un-touched salad in front of him. But a couple of sentences that Catori had spoken earlier stuck in his head. "Family boy. Strong moral compass." How on Earth did she figure that out? he wondered.
