Tristan finished taking his stuff from his locker when he caught a mere glimpse of Kemp and Jacob, once again, hounding at Chase. ….I don't know how else to make things right… He glanced left and right and followed them from a very, very safe distance…
“We’ve decided it’s time you really learn how much you don’t belong,” Kemp murmured with a dark chuckle, starring him into the choir room. The room was equipped with couches in the back, one of them occupied by that guy that Tristan had been with. Chase averted his gaze to the ground as Kemp and Jacob pushed him down to the floor and that guy stood up.
Tristan followed them to the choir room, but didn't dare go inside, in fear that he was going to get pounded as well. I…. I don't know what to do… He pressed his ear against the wall so he could hear what they were saying, and partially what they were doing.
(I’m finally here!)
Toby chuckled darkly, “You upset my boyfriend. It’s time to pay.” Toby’s foot connected with Chase abdomen and he let out a yelp of pain. Someone else’s foot connected with his face, and another in his groin. He was seeing stars, and he could hardly breath. Kemp was saying something, but he couldn’t register it.
Tears welled in his eyes. I can't leave him…. Not after what happened….. Tristan stood up. It was time he faced his fear of Kemp and Jacob– those no-good jerks.
He felt his heart flutter with resistance, but his mind told him otherwise. He yanked the door open and barked at them– "Leave Chase alone!!!"
The three guys froze for a second, but their faces were cold. Chase didn’t even realize someone else had entered the room because of his much pain he was in. Kemp spat on the ground, “Why should we? He’s just a freak,” On the last word, Kemp kicked Chase again in his stomach, and he let out a small weak noise.
Tristan's sight became starry. Hell no… I can't back down…. I have to make this right… "N-No one deserves it…." His voice shook, his hands shook, his heart shook. He felt like he was going to faint. "I'm sick of you shoving Chase around–" He cut off, glaring at Toby. "And pushing me around, too!!" His eyes went cloudy as his nerves tingled.
“Fine. But next time I won’t go so easy.” Kemp said, a look of hatred on his face, Jacob looked a little uneasy, but Kemp was already shoving past Tristan and out the door so Jacob followed. Toby sneered at Tristan before kicking Chase in the groin again and walking out. Chase was left out the floor gasping for air with tears pouring out of his eyes.
"Dear lord…." Tristan cried. "Chase…." He went to his side, crouching down. A harsh, sorrowful essence drenched his heart "I-It's all my fault… I… I roped you into this…" No…. It's over… He didn't give up hopes, but his mind told him otherwise. "Yet…. He… H-He forced me…." He stammered, glaring at Chase's broken body. "I… I don't knoe what to do…."
“It— It h-hurts—“ Chase could barely do anything as the never ending pain throbbed constantly. Gosh it hurt. It hurt that Tristan was here too, but… Tristan hadn’t been kicking him- no, he had spared Chase. Even if he doesn’t like me…
"Chase…." Tristan carefully helped him to a sitting position. "….I don't understand what I was thinking…. I… I miss you…. I love you…. With all my heart…. I even told him you were my boyfriend…." I just want him to understand I was never in love with that moron!!! He carefully took Chase's hand, his knuckles tingling with the sense that he'd push him away– and never forgive him. "I-I'm sorry…."
Chase looked at Tristan with watering eyes, “You- you- but wasn’t I just your little toy to play around with? He said you were his boyfriend, am I just something to u-use when y-you get bored?” Chase asked desperately, no matter how much he wanted to fall into Tristan’s arms and cry. He hurt so badly.
"….I…. I don't even know the guy…. He unvoluntarily loved me without my consent…." Tristan cried. "I never ever ever told him that I even wanted to be a friend of his…."
I'm just crumbling…. "…Love only works when it's mutual… When people love each other… And…" Tristan choked up. "I miss your soft love!!!"
”Okay, but on one condition. I am the snuggleeeeeeeeeeee” (lol)
Chase curled over on himself wishing the pain would just subside. He still felt betrayed. He still felt hurt. And it wasn’t just the physical pain racking throughout his body.
"I–" Tristan stopped. "I'll stop…. I– I u-understand…. I'll never be forgiven…. For s-something I w-w-was forced to be a part of a-against my w-will…." Ha… To think I could turn this around… What the hell were you thinking…? "I…" I just wanted to let you know I'm just as upset as you are….
Chase forced himself to his feet, the hurt apparent in his eyes. He felt like he was being guilt tripped into another false relationship. He clutched his abdomen, and started to limp out, knowing bruises would be forming over his face and chest any moment now.
….I know he doesn't want me anymore…. Why do I keep trying…? Tristan knew Chase was plagued with a sense of insecurity from what he told him. But everything was gone. He had nothing left– just his lonely self. Tristan got slowly to his feet, but by the time he got out, Chase was long gone. …I can't believe this…
(Time skipperu?)
(What if it’s a few months later, when Chase gets another boyfriend?)
(just an idea)
(Or we could just timeskip a week or so if you would rather do that)
(That'd be better– but after school maybe….?)
Chase packed up his things in his locker, the bruises still tainting his skin all over. It doesn’t matter, anyways… He slung his bag over his shoulder, frowning at the ache it caused. Chase kept his head down as he walked through the halls in the direction of the exit.
Tristan was already down in the music room, trying his hardest to put in the effort to practice. But every second, he'd mess up a rhythm or a note or several. He pounded at them, then lifted off, a fury of tears in his eyes. "Why did I have to screw this up!?" He barked, choking up. "….Why do I even play anymore?…. I've lost my purpose…." Tristan gave in, laying down on the bench and staring at the ceiling. "…How could I let that happen….? I… I… I.." He stammered, but couldn't say it.
Chase made it out without the interruption of Kemp nor Jacob nor Toby, thankfully. He’d have to deal with his dad, but he was used to that by now. Nothing changed, expect for his father’s girlfriends of course.
