A giant blast shook and swayed the ground beneath them, and the clerk cried out in fear. Marzia grabbed a wall for support, watching as dust and small crumbles of the ceiling fell. "Winston?" She yelled out, "Are you there?"

(The door he opened was the door to the bathroom. Like, the fight had already happened and he unlocked the door and opened it when he was done)
(oh whoops)
(You're fine! I didn't explain it well)
(:)
"Oh my God!" Marzia exclaimed, taking in her dishevelled state and patting out the small fires on Winston's jacket. She threw her arms around him, holding him tight, "Okay! You're okay." Marzia sighed heavily, grabbed his face in her hand, shifting his gaze to hers, "Don't you ever do that again! Never."
"I didn't do nothin'," he mumbled, pulling her hands away from his face. "All I did was watch. C'mon, they're gone. Let's get back to my apartment."
"Okay," She sighed, following him out the door. "What do you think happened?" Marzia asked, dusting off debris on her coat.
"A fight," he said vaguely, leading her out into the store. It was ruined. The racks were tossed over and bend, the ceiling lights hung from wires and flickered diligently, and the floor was scorched and cracked. A fight indeed, but none of the powered individuals were anywhere to be seen.
Marzia ducked under a light that was hanging lopsided from the ceiling and stepped over some fallen items.
"Yeah, I guess so." She said, slipping her heels back on, "Hopefully no one was badly hurt, that blast–. This is gonna be all over the news."
"Guess it will be," he said, giving her a sideways look as they walked back into the street. "Still think this stuff is bullshit?"
"The news? A little bit," Marzia said, motioning 'kind of,' "The superhero stuff?" She scoffed, gesturing to the damage surrounding them. "Look around you, they're nowhere to be found. They 'saved us,' sure, but what about now? There are still people injured, buildings are broken– people will lose their homes, and where are they?" Marzia questioned.
Winston smiled at her response, pleased. Maybe she wouldn't be mad, then.
"Let's get back to my place before anything else happens," he said, pointing down the road in the direction of his home.
"Yeah, yeah, okay, I'm coming." Marzia smiled, shaking her head. She looked over to Winston and noticed his rough appearance, and missing shoe. "You sure you okay? You look a little beat. I know I am, so don't be surprised if I drop dead in the middle of the street." She joked.
"Nah," he said, shaking off a bit of rubble from his jacket. "I'm fine. Don' know where my shoe went, though. Walkin' is hard as shit without it."
Marzia chuckled softly, watching as he hobbled along unevenly. She slipped one of her heels off and held it up.
"See? Now we're matching."
