"Yep!" Pride flooped into a chair in the kitchen."We've each got our specialities, we can help him in our own ways. Like, Gluttony, you make sure he's eating properly, Lust, you get him laid, Wrath… I dunno… teach him when it's okay to fight back? You guys get it, right?"
”I'll make sure he sleeps at least 10 hours a day not counting naps, ” sloth added.
"No. You will make sure he gets 8 hours. He could be productive in those two hours, Sloth," Pride instructed.
"I can teach him more than just fighting." Wrath muttered looking abashed. "I'm all about ferocity! That sad potato needs a little more….umph. A little anger to spice up his life. Ya know?" She shrugged vaguely. She'd figure out what he needed from her… Maybe.
"Listen, Wrath, I don't know what you even do, I don't even know your real name. All you seem to do is yell a lot, so don't blame me." Pride stopped for a minute to think. "Envy and Greed… I don't know for you two either. What do you think?"
"I think we need to figure out what this kids about, what he needs help in. He's obviously not eating enough, so there's that." She looked over her shoulder to where Adagio had vanished. "And he probably needs other help, so we gotta figure out what that would be."
“So you’re saying that we need to figure out what normal, happy people are like and what we can do to help him to be ‘normal’ again?” She said. “For us, to, like, help him with his life and get back on track?”
"Do you guys really think that he was actually intentionally brought here by like God, or something and we're supposed to help him so we could be redeemed or some crap like that? I only want to help him because he's pitiful and I don't want to live with someone like that." Pride rubbed his chin.
“Fine ten hours but he is definitely taking naps,” sloth muttered. “Also probably not to the whole god thing.”
Greed shrugged. "I dunno, about the redemption thing either, but helping a guy who's obviously in need of it can't really do much harm, can it? As for what I could do…I could probably help out with motivating him to work and stuff. Incentive, you know?"
"Okay, we should do this in steps, first, we should find out what we actually need to help him with, then go from there. We also should have a leader, and of course, that job will belong to me." Pride stood up and flipped his head like he was flipping his hair.
"Mmm yeah, I think not." Gluttony stood up. "I vote we don't have a leader because some of us wouldn't be able to handle it."
“Gluttony has a point,” Lust stated. “And it’s better if we work together, side by side, then have one demon in charge.”
Adagio stares at the ceiling as he listens to music and sighs softly. So he wasn't going insane, he wasn't seeing things. It was real…
"Oh, boo. You guys suck." Pride sat back down. "Should we bring him in here so we can see how to help him?"
"Maybe we should talk to him individually?" Gluttony looked down at the ground in confusion. "I don't even know what kind of questions to ask someone who doesn't eat . . . "
“Why don’t we each individually talk to him to see how we personally can help,” She started. “Then, talk to him all together and make a plan?”
Sloth was half asleep while standing. She stuck a thumb up to show that she agreed.
Pride nodded. "Let's each go talk to him in alphabetical order of sin name. Does anybody have any objections?"
Envy rose her eyebrows. “Really? Well, I’d like that a lot.”
"No objections here," Gluttony said, sinking to the floor, and sitting with her legs crossed. She rested her head on the palm of her hand, and her elbow on her knee, deep in thought.
"Two agreements is enough for me so that would be… Envy, Gluttony, Greed, Lust, Pride, Sloth, and finally Wrath." Pride propped his elbow up on the table. "Guess I'll be waiting for a while."
Adagio shuts his eyes and sighs softly as he tries to relax. He was tired, and he just didn't know what to do anymore.
Wrath crossed her arms menacingly, "Damn I always go last." She sighed scowling. "Fine. Fine. Let's fix the sad potato."
Gluttony perked up from the floor. "Maybe he likes potatoes!" she said hopefully.
