He snarled in her direction, "Fine! Be like that then! See if I care!" He turned her back on her and shifted.
He snarled in her direction, "Fine! Be like that then! See if I care!" He turned her back on her and shifted.
She turned back around and faced him once again, "you think I do this to hurt you?! You think I do this out of selfishness?! Well guess what? I do, I do do this out of selfishness, out of want for you. Now you may not feel the same anymore but I do! Doesn't that count for something? I giving you the chance to roam free, I'm giving you a chance Drake, leave if you want, I won't stop you. But if you want to be chained back up fine! Say the word and I'll do it."
Drake growled. He could kill her if he wanted, he could snap her like a twig so easily. He reached out to do it but pulled back and hung his head. He crawled into a lying down position and rested his head on his claws, eyes filled with sorrow and guilt.
He looked at him "don't worry, you're not the only one who wants me dead." She said quietly. "The doors are open and the window is unlocked in case you decide to leave. I won't look for you if you decide to peace for good. In the meantime while you stay…I'll try to be better. I can swear to you that. Oh and here's the key. If you lock the door, I'll know you wish not to see me." He walked over to the side of his massive head and place the key in front of him "never question this, I have always and will all ways love you Drake." She walked to the stairs and disappeared to her room
Drake watched her go, keeping his eyes tried on the door then towards the key. He could leave forever and never come back. Yet some part of his heart wanted to stay with her. A very small portion of it so he didn't leave. he stayed where he was and fell asleep.
She fell asleep fitfully Sometimes going so far as screening in agony and pain at the ferosity of her dreams. She sat up with a fright and went to the kitchen to grab a drink. She later found herself going down to Drake's loving quarter and watching him sleep. She smiled and went back to her room, finding that she could sleep
Drake woke up a little while later, blinking his eyes open and shifting back to his human self. He wanted to go for a flight. He could go by himself right now and come back but if he wanted to bridge the gap between him and…
Ad that's how his train of thought led him up to Valtira's room, knocking softly.
She jumped at the knock, pulling herself out of bed and opened the door "Drake?" She asked surprise and half asleep "what's wrong?" She asked not realizing how late it was in the morning
"Sorry, I-I didn't mean to wake you but…" He swallowed and looked down at his feet, "I was going to go for a flight and wondered if you wanted to come with me? Sorry, I should have considered the fact that you were sleeping."
"no don't worry about it!" She said quickly, rubbing the sleep from her eyes "umm I'd love to go for a fly, just give me a minute to get ready." She closed the door. In 5 minutes flat she changed into flying gear and walked out "ready." She tried to calm her nerves and girlish excitement, she was a queen…respected and feared….not today!
"Okay, come on." Drake led them out of the castle and onto the lawn so he could shift easily. Once he did so, he crouch low so that she could climb on.
She hadn't realized how beautiful he was in the dim lighting of the castle. His scales were a multitude of colors other than forest green and his eyes were bright and full of life. She smiled and trace light fingers over a few scales. Sighing, she climbed into his lower neck and held on tight "ok," she said to him
He nodded once and with a small breath, he launched them into the air, heading directly towards the clouds. He flew with the wind, letting it guide him to wherever it wanted to take them that morning.
She gasped as they were launched into the air, her stomach as well as her voice was left down on the earth below. After a few minutes of what seemed like steady flying, she opened her eyes and saw that they were surrounded by clouds. She leaned back as far as she could go and, for the first time in a while, smiled with pure joy
He kept his eyes trained ahead of him, swerving this way and that gently with the wind. For the first time in a while he felt free again. Not locked up in a dungeon. No chains around him. Just him being able to fly freely.
She pulled herseld back up "I forgot how beautiful it was to fly, how freeing it felt." Her smile faded "I kept you from this. I… Can we land for a bit? I'm not feeling well." She subconsciously rubbed her arms
Drake nodded his big head and swooped down towards the snowy topped mountains and green topped trees, finding a patch of grass big enough to land. Once he did so, he crouched so she could get off.
She got off and walked a few places away, not being able to look at him “I’m sorry,” she whispered and ran off into the woods
Drake shifted, "Woah wait!!" Luckily, he was bigger, stronger and faster then her so he caught up quickly, "Stop!"
Seeing that he was catching she shifted into her wolf form. Her white coat glissened and her dark gold eyes held worlds never known. She looked back at him with sadness and longing and let out a low howl
"Valtira, please talk to me," Drake pleaded, "Please don't run like I did."
She looked up at him and shifted back. "You never ran Drake, I gave you reasons to avoid me." She looked him in the eyes "what do you want to talk about?"
"Why did you just run from me?" He asked.
She shook her head and looked down "I'm not trying to run from you, I'm trying to run from what i did to you. What I kept you from just because of my selfishness."
"Hey," He sighed, "You're trying to get better and that's what counts."
