Laura Davies is the most powerful person in the penitentiary. She has armed guards near her whenever she's around people, and power-restricting shackles around her necks.
A new person is coming into the penitentiary in the form of Elyisia Drayce. Rumour has it that she's just as powerful as Laura.
There's only two things that can happen: a fight for power or a team-up and escape from the penitentiary.

Appearance: Ely has tanned skin from spending time on the beach, light, almost mint green eyes, a scar under her left eye. She has medium length hair that is black on the right and silver on the right side. She has long fingers. Background: Eliysia doesn't have much experience with affection because she was placed in the system when she was 7 because of abusive parents. Since then she has been placed in many homes. The first two homes she went to, she was still abused. She was placed in another home but ran away. At the age of 13 she was adopted by a wonderful 48 year old woman, Mrs. Aliya Foster (Uh‐Liya) but she got into a car accident and passed away, the day of her birthday. Elyisia later learned it was because of a drunk driver. Elyisia became depressed as well as angry and was moved to a few more homes until she ran away for good at the age of 17. During her time in the other homes, she made a plan to find the murderer of her adopted mother. She found the man in question and killed him with no hesitation. She saw that someone had seen what happened without seeing her face and she ran, going to a nearby grouphome. She lived at the group home until she was 19, working and saving up a little money to move to her own place later.
Crime: killed a man at 17 then went on the run. She was found by a gang member who took her but she killed him before anything could progress. She ran away yet again and killed a police officer which was when she got captured
Power/s: Ely can make clones of herself as well as turn things into sand, essentially using both abilities as defensive measures.

Background: Laura hated her family from a young age. She had powers, but they were weak. Her skin was a normal colour, her hair was a light brown and her eyes were dull brown. Her father was abusive, but he never struck her or her two brothers. Her brothers both took after her father, and they beat on their mother but never their sister.
When Laura was 16, she came home from school to find her mother dead on the floor. She knew it was her father and brothers: their engraved knives were still in her torso and heart. She walked outside, finding them laying around drinking beer. She screamed, ice shooting from her body. It engulfed them and they fell, smashing. As her powers awakened, her hair turned white, her eyes became blue and her skin pale. She ran, knowing people would come after her.
While on the run, she met Marcos, who quickly became her fiancé. They had a daughter named Freya. One night, police stormed their apartment. They put a power-restrictor around her neck and started to drag her away. When Marcos tried to stop them, her was shot and killed.
Laura later found out that Freya had been adopted by the overseer of the penitentiary, and she despises him when he comes to talk to her.
She holds her engagement ring on a chain around her neck. She hopes that she’ll be able to see Freya when she gets older. If not, she wants to tear the overseer limb from limb and steal her away.
She knows that Freya will look like her. She already knows that Freya has crykinesis. It’s only a matter of time.
Crime: Killed her family when she was 16. Went on the run, killed a couple more people. Was caught at age 20.
Power/s: Extremely powerful cryokinesis. She can freeze your blood or lower your body temperature in .5 seconds flat.

Atop a busy city street sits a busy Purple Lantern Cafe. Nestled in front of an empty warehouse, the cafe provided perfect cover for the Purple Lantern Penitentiary. If only the members of the city knew that the most powerful and dangerous high-powered individuals layed calmly beneath their feet.
Deep in the confinements of penitentiary, a cell held the murderer known to the public only as Winter Equinox. She stood in the centre of the glass cell, eyes closed, head tilted down. The power restricter around her neck was barely visible due to her white hair covering it. The metal shackles that encased her hands had patches of frost on them, as did the chains connecting them to the floor and the glass that contained her.
Winter Equinox's head shot up as she heard the door containing the glass cell opening, her eyes ice blue. She made no noise as the head of the penitentiary, Oscar Melding, opened the door to her cell and closed it behind him, standing in front of her.
"Hello, Laura. You seem…fine…today."
"How is my daughter?" Laura asked, voice icy.
"Phoebe is doing just fine."
"Her name is FREYA!" Laura screamed, pulling on the shackles. Melding's heart raced, but he didn't show it.

"Move." A gruff voice ordered as Eliysia felt someone push her from behind. She stumbled a bit before turning around and facing the man with a murderous look in her eye "if you touch me again I will kill you when I get out." She said in a dangerously low voice. Laughter was heard as she was forced to face the other way. She tried to turn her shackles and neck brace to sand but the only thing that happened was a short shock being delivered to her neck. Swearing, she turned to face the male and glared. "What the hell is this collar thing?" She seethed. Her skin paled at the response. 'a power restricting shock collar…as if…as if I'm some kind of animal. They'll pay, they will all pay.' she thought
"Now now Laura, that's not how we act. You know that she'll never know you."
"She's my daughter. She looks like me. She can control ice. She'll figure it out."
"You think that, and yet she'll never find out about you."
"Everyone knows about me. I'm Equinox. I'm the murderer who kills people in cold blood."
"You're the Winter Equinox."
"That's the name everyone gives me. I only gave them Equinox."
Eliysia was pushed into a cage and given a talk on what to do and what not to.she ignored the person speaking and continued to stare out at the people. As soon as the informer left, she stood up and tried to pull the door, nothing. She tried to use her powers again, trying to build more power to fry them, nothing she got shocked in return. She slammed her fists on the door and screamed swears
Laura glared at Oscar. Ice spread around her and climbed up the walls. The power-restricter did nothing, as her powers were so powerful that she didn't have to use them for the ice to spread.
"And that is what Phoebe will know you as."
"She's my daughter!"
"FREYA WILL NEVER KNOW WHO YOU ARE!" Oscar yelled.
Laura screamed, and more ice spread.
Eliysia heard another scream not to far from where she was and took a step back. She realized that the wall next to her was getting fairly cold and frowned, the rest of the room wasnt as cold so someone with ice powers was locked next door. Resting her ear on the door, Eliysia tried to listen to the conversation but no voice came. She frowned and focused on her shackles again. Sitting in the centre of the room, she closed her eyes, steadied her breathing, and clenches her fists, trying to make a duplicate appear.
Laura screamed again, pulling against the shackles. In her rage, her managed to break the chains. She ran forward, grabbing Oscar by the collar. "You will never be able to take Freya from me. I will always find a way to break out and take back my daughter, no matter how many times you bring me back. You took Marcos from me, I won't allow you to take Freya from me too." Her voice was a low hiss, and she looked directly into Oscars terrified green eyes as ice crept onto her skin.
A little straining and a lot of sweat later, Eliysia managed to make a small aura appear. She slowly made it more solid before finally stopping and looking at the small aura of herself. She sighed and waved a hand before facing her shackles again. She looked around the decent sized room to find anything she could use to open the locks on this, but to no avail.
Guards stormed the cell and took Laura by the arms, restraining her. As she didn't really use her powers, they couldn't shock her. It was against the government's and the penitentiary's humanity policy not to hurt a prisoner unless they used their powers. So the guards had to restrain her instead. "Fuck you!" Laura yelled at Oscar, spitting directly in his eye. "Fuck this place!" She struggled against the guards. "Fuck you all!"
The stomping of boots was heard and Eliysia looked out to see a couple of guards running. One looked in her direction and she very sweetly flipped him off. She frowned and went to lay on the stiff bed, trying to find any way to leave this place

Laura let out another scream. She was angry. She was pissed. Her anger made frost spread up her neck, which in turn short-circuited the power-restricter. It unlocked but didn't fall off, a fact that Laura realised before anyone else. She grabbed the arms of two guards, ice spreading rapidly over their bodies.

Eliysia heard a commotion and strained her neck to hear what was happening before falling back and trying to make her cuffs turn to sand again. She managed to corrode the surface, small grains falling off the cuffs. She grinned, a villainous look on her face as she tried to turn her binds to sand

Laura screamed again, and the frost spread so rapidly that it encased everyone in the room. She didn't shatter them: they didn't do anything to her. "You took everything from me," She hissed at Oscar, knowing that he couldn't move. "So instead of killing you, I'll take everything that you hold dear." She froze the window, then shattered it. She opened the door from the outside, freezing it over after she exited so that the frozen people inside couldn't get out once they'd unthawed. She ran to the control panel of the corridor, freezing it over so that it short-circuted. That, in turn, unlocked all of the doors in the corridor. However, no one exited when they saw ice forming over the handles. No one except one person.
Eliysia heard a click and sat up straight. She stayed where she was for a short while before heading to the door and pushing it open. 'Holy shit that's cold' she thought. She looked down at the handle and saw frost there. She ignored it and went out into the hall. She looked at the control panel and saw it frozen. Frowning, she walked closer to it. 'I only know one person with ice powers that strong' she thought
Laura let out a scream, but anyone with emotions would be able to tell it was a heartbroken scream. She'd escaped before, but she'd never felt such an overwhelming need to find Freya. As she fell to the floor, a layer of ice covered the floor.
Eliysia was strolling down the halls, grinning gleefully when she heard a scream. Running towards the sound, she was surprised to see a girl, similar to her in age, sobbing on the ground
Laura's screams slowly turned to sobs, tears rolling down her cheeks. Her white hair fell down and framed her face, hiding it from the world. All she wanted was to find her daughter.
"Why the hell are you crying? The doors unlocked, we can leave yet you sit here bawling." Eliysia asked incredulously, looking at laura. She looked at the Oce forming around the ground near her and smirked "so you are the one they call Winter Equinox."
