At first, A lived a normal life, as much as they could. But there’s one thing about A that isn’t normal: they have abilities that no human is supposed to possess. After some mistakes and accidentally causing a lot of trouble with some scary people, A goes on the run. They think that they’re alone. At least, until they meet B. B has supernatural abilities too—but they’re better at hiding them than A. A, being a hopeless romantic, thinks that they should run away together, because B is closer to being found by the same shadowy organization that haunts A’s every move than B realizes. So they take off together and go on an adventure.

I know it’s kind of cliche, but that happens to be my specialty aha! Anyway, this will be a romance (because most of my rps are, tbh). I’m fine with any pairing. This rp will be rated PG-15, because of possible violence and language, mostly. While there will be a romantic element to this, no sexy stuff please, because it makes me uncomfy. So yeah! If I haven’t rped with you previously, I may ask for a writing sample. I’ll put a template up when someone joins.
This sounds pretty fun, may I?
sure, do you want to be A or B?
yeah that's cool. one last thing before i put up the template: do you have any preference on what type of pairing? (gxg, gxb, bxb)
I don’t really have a preference :)
here's the form (keeping it brief so we can learn most of the info in the rp):
name:
age (i was thinking somewhere in the 17-20 range):
gender:
sexuality:
appearance:
power/ability:
Alright, I’ll get to work on it. Just letting you know that my replies are going to vary in time as I’m in the middle of something at home.
it's all good, just for reference my character is a pan girl :)
name: Penny Chatwin
age: 19
gender: female
sexuality: pansexual
appearance: Penny has shiny copper hair (yes, she's heard jokes about that and her name many a time) that goes to her mid-back. She has bright hazel eyes that can look more green, blue, or brown depending on the light and a multitude of freckles. She has dimples when she smiles and naturally slightly flushed cheeks, but when she really blushes it makes her whole face and neck turn red. Penny is slightly taller than average at 5' 7" with a lanky, slender build and grace that it surprising for her appearance. Penny has a small scar under one eye from playing with scissors when she was younger.
power/ability: Penny can teleport. Her ability grows gradually stronger every day.
name: Otis Lake
age: 19
gender: Male
sexuality: Bisexual
appearance: Otis is a very pale boy, almost pure white, with long, light blond hair that he keeps in a ponytail. He has dazzling blue eyes, sculpted cheeks and jaw, and an average but athletic build. He's fairly tall, only around 5'11. He likes to wear dark clothing as he thinks it makes his skin look even whiter, and when he is outside he always wears sunglasses.
power/ability: Otis can control the weather, a lot of it is linked to his emotions.
nice! i like him! i'll start unless you would like to.
No it's okay, you have more of an idea as to how you want this to begin
okie doke i'll post a starter then
Penny took a sip of her latte, sighing as she studied the empty coffee shop. She brushed back a lock of copper hair, frowning. She had only narrowly avoided the secretive group that had been following her last week, and she wasn't sure how long her current spot would hold. She was debating whether to rent an apartment or sleep in her car at the moment. Would she be in this town long enough to rent? Penny sighed. If only she could've kept a better hold on her ability, then she wouldn't be in this mess. She stared at the doors, not really seeing anything with all of the thoughts racing through her head.
Otis left his apartment complex, slipping his shades on with a content smile. The sun was shining, the clouds were next to non-existent, and everything was just nice. Though while the scenery was a sight to behold, the underlying paranoia began to surface and threaten Otis' control over his power… Was someone following him? He gripped the strap of his satchel with one hand, the other one tucked deep into the pocket of his black skinny jeans. Time for the daily routine! Stop by the coffee shop, grab a caramel latte to go, and head to the book store. He made it to the coffee shop in three minutes, just like always, and as usual, at this time of morning, it was empty. No. Someone was sat at one of the tables. A girl, with copper hair, and her eyes looked rather panicked. Perhaps she a late night drinker who needed something to sober her up—there was at least one of those a week. Otis made his way over to the counter, greeting the familiar barista, asking for "The usual."
Penny looked up at the voice. She wasn’t the only person here anymore. The guy looked like a fairly normal person, but his mere presence made Penny briefly panic. He wasn’t with the organization, was he? She didn’t even know their name, so in her head she just called them the organization. But he said the usual, and while the organization was incredibly secretive, they wouldn’t station people here waiting for her, would they? Of course they would. Penny may be paranoid, but it was the only reason that she had survived this long. Sleep in her car it was. She would be leaving this town soon enough. She just about got up to leave, but stopped. That was what they expected her to do: leave. So she kept drinking her coffee, hoping the few people around would just think she was a college student who had done an all nighter or something.
(Sorry, I haven't forgotten, I've been away from notebook for a bit due to college and work)
(ok it’s all good, i’m just being impatient as usual so sorry abt that aha)
(I am so sorry, I took a huge break from Notebook due to work and college. Well since I'm not allowed to do either at the moment I thought I would catch up on everything I missed. I hope you're still okay with me responding to this?)
(sure lol,, tbh i completely forgot about this but i’m cool with continuing it hahah)
(THank you)
When Otis was handed the drink, he thanked the barista and left a tip—like he did every day. "Heading to the book store again?" the barista asked, gratefully taking the tip from the counter.
"Always! I'm pretty sure there are still a few books I haven't read yet." Otis' smile was that of a really nerdy bookworm, and as his smile grew, the world outside seemed to brighten just a little more. As he was turning to leave, he noticed something off about the girl. While she could very well have just had a hangover, there was a different kind of emotion within the darting eye movements and slight jitters of her body. A feeling he knew all too well. He didn't know her circumstance, only that it was causing her pain. He checked his watch briefly, still a few minutes before he needed to leave, plenty of time to quickly talk to the girl.
He approached her like a friend, though not too strongly so as to not scare her. "I uhm…" he took a deep breath, smiling politely, warmly. "I just wanted to make sure that you're okay." His voice was hushed, just in case someone was listening in on them.
Penny blinked, staring at him for several seconds before realizing how dumb that was and quickly blinking some more. "Oh, um, I'm fine," she lied, the words rolling easily off of tongue just like they always did. The taste of them was never any less sour, though. This was quite unexpected, and for a moment Penny wanted to bolt, but something gave her pause. Despite her paranoia, this guy looked oddly sincere. Too bad her ability wasn't lie detecting.
Another thing that bothered her was how low he spoke, as if someone could be listening. She recognized that as something that she herself did, so that made her trust him the tiniest bit more than not at all. Her gaze was still laced with suspicion, however.
“Well as long as you’re alright.” A soft chuckle floated from Otis’ lips, a warm breeze drifted in from the open coffee shop door. “I don’t much like to see someone down.” He paused for a moment, rubbing the back of his head nervously. “You don’t come here that often, I mean well I haven’t seen you here before, at all, so I assume you’re not here often.” Otis’ face heated a little from embarrassment, and he slowly moved away from the girl. “I’m Otis by the way, nice to meet you,” he checked his watch. “Sorry to cut this short but I have a book appointment—well I need to see if, I mean I need to go and look at books.” He stumbled out of the door, looking back with a heavenly smile and a wave towards the girl. He could not be late, he had to stick to his daily schedule as much as possible. He was safe that way.
Penny’s face heated up, much to her embarrassment. She watched the boy walk away with a mixture of confusion and hope. He was kind to her, something that hadn’t happened in a while. He seemed…different. Not just because he was kind. There was just an energy, a happiness about him. Maybe he was like her?
No, of course this guy didn’t have a weird talent like she did. That was absurd. At best he was a concerned person and at worst some sort of spy. Maybe if she followed him she could figure out what he was really up to. But that was so beyond awkward. Although, what if he really was different?
Otis promptly made his way to the book shop, at the end of the high street. It was a pleasant brisk walk, his coffee was the right temperature to drink completely before entering the shop. One more hand to carry books!
The clerks were as friendly as ever. The shop was always quiet at this time so conversations were made. They spoke about the newest books to be released, shared their opinions on books they had read, the usual. Of course, Otis purchased another 5 books that he didn’t need, but he was running low on material that kept his mind from the fact he was a freak.
He shouldn’t have spoken to that girl, it had completely screwed his emotions——something he needed to have complete control over.
Penny glanced down the street at the shop the boy had gone into. She really shouldn’t have followed him. Doing so on a stupid hunch was the best way to get found and hunted down, which was exactly what she was trying to avoid. She sighed, a strand of hair blowing in front of her face from the release of breath.
Maybe a quick teleportation wouldn’t hurt? It’d help her get in without attracting attention, granted she didn’t end up right in front of the kid. She was getting better at controlling it, but it still depended partially on her energy level and anxiety. Of course, it wasn’t an exact science. She knew that if she wanted to go into the shop, she wouldn’t end up in Canada, but she couldn’t really tell where in the shop she might be, only guess.
She ducked between buildings, glad no one was around. Then she waited a moment, holding her breath, just in case. When she was satisfied she was well and truly alone, she squeezed her eyes shut and teleported.
When she opened her eyes, she took behind a shelf full of books. She peered around the shelf, she saw several more shelves and around those, a counter where the boy was talking to some others. Perfect. She ducked behind the shelf again, breathing hard for a moment, but also trying to be as quiet as possible in this quiet little shop. She listened, leaning slightly against the books.
Otis could sense another person in the building, one who hadn’t walked through the front door. Strange, he had only counted 5 customers enter and leave in all the time he had been there. He shook his head a little, it was a silly thought after all, and continued his conversation with the clerks.
When it was time to leave, he picked up the bag of books and bid farewell to his friends. They were very understanding of his need to stick to a tight schedule, and were pleased that he came to visit them every day, with the place slowly losing customers it would only be a matter of time before they needed to close down, so for someone to go out of their way to check up on the staff was high appreciated. The only issue is what would happen when Otis found out that they were closing.
Otis was almost back home, but it was then that he realised he had left his satchel at the book shop, and it contained his keys. He only had 5 minutes before he needed to start cleaning the house, it wouldn’t be enough time to run to the book shop and get back in time to start!
