A young girl, who solely lives to serve the kingdom, is owned by the nobles of the palace.
She whole-heartedly serves them, doing whatever they ask. No matter their intentions or what she must do, she always does what they say and never questions them.
The kingdoms rulers, adopted a new noble to become the next ruler, after the original heir died.
They hadn’t yet been told about who this girl really is, and thinks of them as girl who is strangely in love with them and has a screw loose.
They find the girls straightforwardness awkward, and find themselves often flustered by them.
The girl didn’t know either that the new heir hadn’t been told of her, and is quite curious that she has received no orders. But she cannot question it.

They hadn’t ordered her to do anything quite yet, so she finds herself mainly caring for them, waiting for her orders.
The new heir is issued to travel to the neighbouring kingdoms, to represent their own kingdom and to meet the other rulers.
A war could start at any minute between the humans and demons, and alliances needed to be secured. The girl is ordered to protect and stay with the heir on their journey.
Her kingdom had been dealing in experiments with demons and knew that someone would be out for them.

It’s kind to an underdeveloped idea, and I want to see how it would go and work on it. Imma be the girl, cuz I like that trope. It’s pretty fantasy based, magic is kind of rare and usually only nobles can use it. Definitely not modern.
Regular rules apply. I don’t really care about minimal swearing etc. Please try and reply with about a paragraph long response. I had to reboot this so yeah, eheheh, let me know if you aren’t interested anymore or if you’re gonna drop out.

My character:
Name: Chiakai Vermilion
Nicknames: Chi, Miss, Little Girl, Devil
Age: Unknown, probably close to 20
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Unknown
Appearance: Mid-length black wavy hair. Has bangs that mainly cover her eyes which she pins back. Sometime has her hair done up. Violet tinted eyes. Rather petite appearing frame, but strong, defined muscles. Has a large presence. Almost fox-like. Sharp features. Has a ton of scars on her torso.
Clothing: Wears kimono-style clothing. Often has a short dress on with layers around her torso and lengthened sleeves. Likes to have her collar and throat exposed to seem vulnerable. Doesn’t always wear shoes, but has a couple pairs of boots she won from a noble. Likes to wear a sheath blindfold and dangled earrings.
Personality: Straightforward and blunt, gets to the point and clarifies what she wants. Completely has a screw missing in her head. Quite a bit sadistic and suspiciously cheerful. Doesn’t spend a lot of time thinking over things and likes doing what she pleases when she can. Has a bit of an up and down day cycle, and likes to nap during her ‘easy’ days and explore during the night. Is totally in love with all the nobles and would easily give her life for theirs. Though she has no clue why, she just feels strongly for them.
Background: Was told she showed up at the nobles church when she was much younger. Was suspected of being a spy and tortured rather gruesomely. The nobles made a deal over her, that she would serve them unwaveringly and she could have what she desired. The rest of her youth was spent being injected with strange serums and being brainwashed into oblivion to the point where she essentially forgot who she was.
Likes: The nobles, peaches, killing things, playing, sleeping, exploring, eating, honey cakes, explosions, shiny things, roses
Dislikes: Ignorant people, boring or bland things, zucchini, empty schedules
Other: Has unusual stamina and heightened abilities. She thinks it has to do with her experiments. Likes to get roses for the nobles and give them in the mornings.

Let me know if I forgot something or if you have any questions!! If more than one person is interested we could possibly add an extra character(probably a demon), but they’d have to wait a bit before being introduced to the main(er) characters. I already have a starter, so as soon as you get your character done and are ready, we can start.

@Meow

(If you’re interested, you are 100% allowed to join. Feel free to take your time with your character, I’ve got some time on my hands.)

Name: Adelaide Lament
Nickname(s): Addy
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Bisexual
Appearance: Very tall and lanky, with short red hair cut to her jaw. She has dark blue eyes and very fair skin, and there’s a slight hunch to her shoulders. She’s just very long and stretched out, almost like a greyhound, but not very muscular.
Clothing: Adelaide wears dresses with high collars and long sleeves, as well as gloves because she hates to show her skin because she’s very insecure about her body. She likes dark colors like navy or plum and generally wears more plain clothing.
Personality: Addy is rather cautious and careful, a planner rather than a doer. She’s always considering how her choices could affect herself and others, and never acts rashly. Addy is a gifted speaker when she lets herself be heard, as she has a rather quiet voice, and is a fairly competent negotiator.
Background: Addy was the daughter of a the local baker, a man whose wife had died giving birth to her. He was cruel and harsh towards her, criticizing everything she did to find something wrong. Eventually, she caught the attention of the nobles because she was negotiating business deals between the businesses in the neighborhood and they adopted her as the new heir.
Likes: Reading, rainy days, writing in her diary, the feel of velvet, being able to observe others, silence
Dislikes: Loud noises, heat, any sort of fighting or physical conflict, the smell of fresh baked bread
Other: Nope!

(Here’s the starter!)
Chiakai sat on the end of the new heirs bed. Her blindfold started to slip down, and she quickly pushed it back up.
Sunlight would soon make its way to the bedroom windows and the day would begin.
They’d have to leave soon to go to the other kingdoms.
Chiakai was displeased by this. She wouldn’t get to walk through the garden and pick out roses for the nobles. She wouldn’t get to throw knives at the mice in the kitchen.
She probably couldn’t take a lot of naps either, since she’d be guarding the heir.
She wouldn’t even be near all the nobles.
She didn’t dislike the new heir, but they didn’t treat her the same way as the other nobles.
It really set her off that they seemed to not know who she was.
She picked away at the thorns on this mornings roses, piling them up in a handkerchief.
She set one down, slowly making a pile on her other side. Then she picked another one up.

Adelaide slowly woke up, still unused to being able to sleep in until after the sun rose. She noticed Chiakai perched on the end of her bed, and quickly sat up straight, scooching away from the strange young woman. “Good morning,” she said quietly. “Why are you on my bed.” Adelaide hated for anyone to see her vulnerable, and she felt fear trickle down her spine at the thought of the servant just sitting there and watching her sleep.

@Meow

“Ah! Good morning, Master. It’s good to see you awake. The day hasn’t officially started yet so I let myself in, since during the night I’m nearly allowed to do whatever I want. Unless otherwise specified.”
Chiakai already felt better getting to talk to a noble.
She wrapped up the handkerchief and stuffed it away in a pocket.
She watched the sun as it rose higher, ready to spill through the windows.
She crawled closer to Adelaide, holding out a rose.
“Here’s your rose, Master. The day will start, and we’re leaving soon, so I need to give everyone else their roses. I’ll see you soon!”
Chiakai smiled to herself as she picked up the remaining roses, and flitted to the door.

@vidari-is-tired-in-advance group

Adelaide accepted the rose with a bow of her head, and watched as Chiakai left the room with an animal-like grace. That girl unnerved her, and now she was to be her traveling companion while Adelaide was forced to negotiate her way through the demon realm. She shook her head and slipped out of bed, her nightgown swishing around her ankles as she quickly freshened up and chose her outfit for the day. After careful consideration, she chose a dark blue dress with a long, full skirt and elegant bell sleeves. Adelaide wanted to appear calm and in control, especially on today of all days.

@Meow

Chiakai happily strode through the hall down to the other wing.
The other servants and guards she past, giving her a quick nod and hurrying off. Like they were afraid.
She flashed them a smile.
She reached the separate wing where the kingdoms rulers would be, and knocked on the door.
A guard opened the door, seeing that she had made it so far, he could trust that she could be let in.
They seemed to flinch, then opened the door entirely.
“Your Majesties, the little devil is here with your roses.”
Kindred eyes turned to her, which only made her happier.
“This mornings roses, Masters.”
Chiakai dipped into a low curtsy, with a rose in each hand.
Just because she liked to do as she pleased and act how she wanted, she knew she should have proper manners when with nobility. Especially during the day, and because she held them so highly.

@vidari-is-tired-in-advance group

Adelaide exited her room and made her way down the central stairs to the palace’s main entryway. Her bags were already waiting for her, and she sat down lightly on a small bench to wait for her companion. Chiakai seemed benign enough, but there was something off about her, and Adelaide intended to find out what it was. She pulled out a small notebook and a stubby pencil from a hidden pocket in her dress and began to scribble furiously.

@Meow

Chiakai quickly passed by the kitchens and left her remaining roses in a vase.
She then passed through the armoury, being told she would be given a sword for the journey.
The idea of having something bigger and more dangerous than a knife excited her.
A guard gave her a sheath that she could sling over her back, and a small set of daggers.
After winding herself throughout the servants tunnels to get to the main hall, she found Adelaide already waiting.
“My apologies if I made you wait, Master,” she bowed. “Everything should be prepared for our
departure.”

@vidari-is-tired-in-advance group

Adelaide looked up in surprise, the sound of Chiakai’s voice shocking her out of her thoughts. “No need to apologize,” she replied, hurriedly tucking her notebook back into her dress. “And please, don’t call me Master. I’m not the lady of the house yet, and as such that title is inappropriate.” She rose to her feet and gathered her skirts in her hand. “Thank you. Let us go, then.”

@Meow

“Of course, M- How would you prefer me to refer to you? A title is still required due to our differences in status.”
Chiakai went to get Adelaides bags, and glanced up to a few other servants.
Now startled, they set off into action, picking up the remaining bags, having the guards open the door, putting away the luggage in the carriage.
Chiakai waited next to a footman with his hand out for Adelaides support.
She couldn’t get on before her.
Though normally a footman would join them, because of the journeys length and risks of losing a servant, only Adelaide, Chiakai, and the coachman would be there.
As well as a few guards.

@vidari-is-tired-in-advance group

“Just Lady Adelaide is fine,” she replied softly. Following Chiakai to the waiting carriage, she carefully took the footman’s hand and stepped inside the carriage, taking notice of how the other servants seemed to be scared of her companion. She let out a soft sigh as she brushed her hands over the velvet seats of the carriage. Adelaide still hadn’t gotten used to such luxury yet.

@Meow

“As you wish, Lady Adelaide.”
Chiakai allowed herself into the carriage and propped up the sword in a corner.
She brought her legs up and crossed them, deciding she should at least get comfortable.
She then reviewed her orders. All she needed to do was to guard Adelaide, and to keep her safe and in one piece, and to bring her back.
She found the orders surprisingly bland, and she’d need to busy herself.
I can probably take a nap now … but we could get attacked randomly … oh well, I’m sure I’ll wake up.

@vidari-is-tired-in-advance group

Adelaide curiously stretched out a hand to touch the cool metal of Chiakai’s sword, then snatched it back. She didn’t want to risk freaking out the strange servant. Both hands folded politely in her lap, she stared out of the carriage’s window until she caught a flash out of the corner of her eye. “Um, excuse me, but what is that?” Adelaide asked the other occupant of the carriage as she pointed at gleam of light that seemed to be getting closer.

@Meow

“Hhmmm …” Chiakai peeked out the window. “Ooh! It’s probably something dangerous, like a magic attack or, a flare. Outside I hear, there’s still plenty of robberies. Noble carriages are always bound to have something worth selling.”
Chiakai’s heart fluttered. She was kind of disappointed she couldn’t nap right away. But, she could probably get to use her sword now.
She smiled to herself at the thought of it.
“Nothing too bad to worry about, it seems though. I’ll take care of it if the guards can’t do it alone.”

@vidari-is-tired-in-advance group

“Oh, um, okay then. That’s fine,” Adelaide said softly. She heard the sound of another set of hoofbeats getting closer and closer and swallowed nervously. “Do you think that it’s a robbery?” she asked, her heart almost pounding through her chest. “What do we do?”

@Meow

“Just stay seated. Please calm yourself, Lady Adelaide. We’ll take care of it. If we are to protect you on a journey countrywide and to possibly deal with demons, then a robbery shouldn’t be a problem. There is no need to worry.”
Chiakai tried to comfort Adelaide, but for one, she wasn’t that good at it, and she was mainly excited about using the sword.
The guards started to make a bit of a commotion, which would probably only make Adelaide feel worse.
Chiakai tried with a smile for Adelaide and in sheathed the sword. It would do no good to lose it out there.
“We’ll resolve this quickly.”
Chiakai opened up the carriage door, much to the horror of the coachman who was trying to get away from the men on the horses.
She managed to maneuver herself to get herself with the guard at the back and shut the carriage door with her foot.
She would just need to wait until someone got close enough and she could take them out, steal their horse, and take down the others.

@vidari-is-tired-in-advance group

Adelaide peeked through the window in the carriage door and swallowed nervously as she saw Chiakai move to the rear of the vehicle. She didn’t want to just sit inside uselessly, but she didn’t know what she could do. Suddenly, Adelaide was struck with a bolt of inspiration, and she dug through the bottom of her bag to find a sealed glass inkwell. She leaned out the window, her short hair whipping back and forth, and threw the inkwell at one of their pursuers, splattering ink and broken glass across their face. The robber in question fell off of their horse and tumbled to the ground.

@Meow

Chiakai watched Adelaide throw a glass inkwell at one of the men.
Thats kind of a waste of ink.
Nevertheless, Chiakai took the moment while the others were stunned.
She got a grip on the horses harness, hoisting herself partially onto its back.
She knocked back its rider with her leg, and slashed at his throat before she dropped him.
She grabbed the horses rein and made way for the man who had ink and glass on his face.
An arrow ricocheted off the horses saddle, then another hit it’s flank.
The horse reared up in pain, ready to run off.
Chiakai threw herself towards the next rider, and again cut his throat and threw him off.
The blinded man was about to crash into the carriage, but this time the guard took care of him.

@vidari-is-tired-in-advance group

Adelaide watched in awe at Chiakai’s ability to dispatch the riders so quickly. She pulled out her notebook and began taking notes, her gaze flicking back and forth between Chiakai and her frantic writing. Adelaide was so caught up that she almost didn’t notice the blade that had pierced the ceiling and was now beginning to cut a wobbly circle in the carriage’s roof.
