"Well, how did you learn and become such a powerful mind reader, sir?" He added on the sir, he wanted to still be polite. Politeness is key!
"Well, how did you learn and become such a powerful mind reader, sir?" He added on the sir, he wanted to still be polite. Politeness is key!
"It runs in my family," M said flatly. "You can't learn to be a powerful Mind Reader. You can learn to control it."
"Okay!" Jasper agreed readily, he would try and absorb all the information he could, he could probably go and get some notepads after this to write down everything he learned.
M glanced up and opened his desk, pulling out a pair of glasses. He had taken his contacts out last night and misplaced them, so he was forced to wear his glasses until the time being, so he could actually see Jasper. He put them on and rose with a sigh.
"So what do you want to learn first?"
"Whatever you want to teach me!" Jasper exclaimed, his eyes shining with the urge to learn about mind reading. He wanted to help people with what he could do!
M frowned faintly. "All of my past apprentices have wanted me to teach them something specific. Are you sure you don't want me to teach you anything? I'll be teaching you some stuff in everything, but I kinda need a preference."
Erm… What should I have him say, I'm not sure what specialties mind readers have.//
(There are an ass-ton of specalties and here they are:
Entering a person's Mindscape, nevertheless of their power.
Dude, just Mindscapes. They're complicated.
Properties of Thoughts and Memories.
Reading Thoughts and Memories.
Interpreting Emotions in Thoughts/Memories.
Identifying what makes a "Core Memory" (to be explained more later) different from a Normal Memory.
How to soothe a bad/stray Thought or Memory from raging across a person's Mindscape (this is more for Destroy Mind Readers, though, so you can ignore this one.)
That's about it, I might think of more.)
Jasper's hand clutched his other one. "Well… I really want to learn how to enter someone's mindscape. Though I understand if you don't want to teach me that…" He trailed off, his hopeful eyes looking down at his feet.
"Of course I can teach you that," M said with a faint sigh, pushing his glasses up his nose. "I'll also be teaching you other stuff, but I just needed a base of what you wanted. Mind Readers are all one species, but we're educated in different things."
"Okay!" Jasper exclaimed, clapping his hands together as he did so. He was back to how he was before, almost bouncing but not quite.
M turned on his heel and went to go sit on his desk. "Alright. Here's your first test. Try to read my mind."
(Plot twist: Jasper can't, lol. The reasons will be explained, just have immediate pain when he tries.)
Jasper studied him, he knew that he couldn't read M's mind, no matter how he tried. He could, however, try and get some information from his new teacher's body language. He turned on his heel, usually signifying annoyance or being in a rush. He has also been slightly grumpy, but that may just be his personality… Jasper mused.
"You're not reading it~" M hummed softly. He could help a tiny little sing in his deep voice. "You're studying me instead–" His voice got that steeled, emotionless tone back– "And I want you to tend to my mind. Body language is nothing for what you want to do."
Fuck nuggets, okay, look into his mind! Jasper thought, narrowing his eyes and trying to open up his minds eye.
(I just reread my last response and it was hella confusing I'm sorry)
His mind opened up fine, but not for M. M glanced up himself, staring at Jasper.
It… it didn't work. It kinda hurt, really, kinda like a migraine but more in his brain than the nerves outside of it.
