I hate vampires but this stupid idea came to me in a dream last night and I couldn’t resist.

Your character is the human prince and heir to a small kingdom by the seaside, a kingdom often plagued by invading armies and pirates. Your character’s (somewhat abusive) parents decide to marry your character off to a wealthy vampire lord in exchange for protection of the kingdom. The vampire lord is known for his ruthlessness, cunning, and cruelty, and so obviously your character will do anything to escape him. But before the marriage, the vampire wishes to have your character over for a week to see if your character will be a practical mate or if he should call the whole deal off kinda thing. Your character is sent on a boat and shipped over to him, but when they actually meet the vampire lord, they’re more than a little surprised at his demeanor. He’s kind, chivalrous, incredibly protective of your character and ultimately a gentle host and seemingly genuinely decent man. But there are secrets behind this vampire, and secrets will be unveiled between them both…

So uh yeah that’s it that’s the plot, I’m literally just writing this because I’m gay for my stupid little ideas in my stupid little brain and I couldn’t stop thinking about this concept.

Tw for themes of abuse, sexual assault (NO graphic s/a content, I will note- just some backstory stuff for my character) substance abuse and overall just general violence gore dark themes etc… as well as probably some smut which will be taken to DMs. I can respect any triggers that are of note but this RP for all it’s surface level fluff will probably be very dark and I don’t want to get too into spoilers but all that just to say, it’s gonna be a ride. Name: Lysander Salem Alphonse, aka the Cruel Lord Night
Age: He’s a much newer vampire, but still quite old by human standards. Around 650~ but looks about 20.
Gender Identity: Trans man, vampires are pretty accepting they just also like to murder you.
Pronouns: He/him
Orientation: Gay boy fey boy slay boy outta my way boy
Appearance: On the shorter side, around 5’8” so like… still fairly tall, but not huge. Salem has deep, umber toned skin that glistens like diamonds (twilight reference? In this economy?), with faintly blue translucence over the top that shines iridescent in the light. Salem has an extremely long set of braids that when down meets just below his waist, with golden thread braided expertly in his hair as a symbol of status. He ties his hair up most of the time however, better to have it out of the way in order to avoid people using it as leverage in battle. Salem has very handsome, sharp features, with cheekbones sharper than glass shards and gorgeous golden eyes with snake pupils that always stare into your soul in a comfortingly off putting way, if that make sense (we love oxymorons here). Salem has faint freckles as well, golden dots like stars against a night sky. We do like gold over here lol. Fangs are retractable but you can generally see them a bit regardless of their length.
Wardrobe: Deep purple robes with red and gold trim, in a simple style not unlike a scholar or doctor. If not for the obvious royal color choices you’d think Salem was a student or citizen.
Personality: honestly this one is way more complicated than I’d like to get into so we’ll just say he’s outwardly fairly friendly, but distant to most people and ruthless in battle.

Skills: Salem is skilled in battle, but is also a keen artist and musician with an eye for beauty.
Weapon(s)?: Generally a sword in battle, a dagger in an emergency, and teeth as a last resort.

Name: Crown Prince Stefan Augustus Fraiser

Appearance: Stefan has a slender yet athletic build, standing at about 5'10. As crown prince, he is trained in the art of combat, even if he would prefer to shut himself away from the world in his library. His ashbrown hair has been shorn much to his dismay. It sits as a curly mess on top of his head. He prefers to keep it long, often staying it with braids and such, but his parents forced him to cut it. He cried that night. He has striking blue eyes, neither of which come from his parents but his grandmother, who had long passed. Faded freckles were scattered across his straight nose. His lips were full. His brows were well maintained. His features were soft, nonthreatening. He could almost be described as feminine-looking. Almost. Had it not been for the few scars on his body, he could be described as perfect.
Wardrobe: Stefan's wardrobe can be tricky. He is a fashionable man by any means, but not as a prince, but as a scholar. Instead of wearing vests and doublets and jackets befitting an heir, he preferred his peasant tunics and trousers. He often wore a pair of glasses when reading for long periods of time and preferred transcribing texts and diving into a world of knowledge through literature. He wore fabrics of all different colors and often adorned jewelry of gold. He had a piercing in one ear he would wear a stud (it used to be both ears). He would wear rings on his fingers and a simple necklace around his throat.
Personality: Stefan has a scholar's heart. He had been born into the wrong family, something he was so reminded of. He preferred the company of books and scrolls to that of soldiers or courtiers. Politics was a game he preferred not to play. There were too many rules to keep track of and too many schemes to take the risk. He'd prefer not to find himself on the other side of schemes and gossip than he already was. It's not that Stefan doesn't talk much, it's that there's never anyone stimulating to speak to. The people who approached him in the palace always wanted something from him. His hand, to climb up the social ladder. His money, his parents. it was always something. And they always talking in circles, darting away from the point. It was exhausting. He's rather to speak to someone as intellectual as he or never speak again.

Skills: Stefan is fluent in five languages and learning a sixth. He's a very smart man and is often underestimated due to his looks. He's not very frightening or even authoritative-looking. Who would suspect him? He enjoys knitting as a past time. He taught himself years ago when he was imprisoned- grounded- in his room for six months. Now he makes them for all of his cats.
