Anastasia let out a sound scarily similar to a snarl as she was shoved violently into an already occupied cell, somehow not loosing her balance. The cop that had grabbed her had taken her jacket, apparently deciding to make sure everyone could see her Mark, the twin snakes wrapped around each other looking oddly foreboding.
Stupid stupid stupid. You know better than to get caught. She was already picking the lock on her cuffs, needing them off before the panic set in. Thank god for earrings. She turned, taking in the cell, and the boy and girl already in it. Chanced were, they wouldn't toss her in with normal civilians, so it was safe to assume these were Marked as well.
Evie could barely be seen if one simply glanced in her direction with expecting not to see someone there. She was wearing dark clothes and a frightened expression at the sight of the new girl. She curled up tighter and watched her fearfully.
Jesse was relaxing in his corner away from the fearful girl, wearing something that looked like a straitjacket. He grinned, his lips wearing a goofy, welcoming grin at the second girl as she looked around.
"Hey, there," He finally spoke into the drenched silence. "We might as well get to know each other, considering we're gonna die soon."
Anastasia's eyes landed sharply on him, the grey very much matching the color of polished steel. "Sweet sentiment. I don't plan on dying here though. Not at the hands of those assholes." Think think think. Two and a half years has to count for something. Maybe….maybe she could snatch one of the others' abilities.
"Hm, so no name? Alright, don't have to tell me twice." He shrugged a little, though the motion was somewhat restricted by the jacket. "So how do you plan on not dying. Cus if you couldn't tell, they're watching us."
"Ace." She said shortly, in response to the first comment as the handcuffs clicked and came loose. She didn't toss them, instead shoving them in one of her pockets. "And I'm not entirely sure yet. I've got a couple ideas though."
Evie's eyes studied the girl called Ace. She said she didn't plan to die. Ever since she had been captured, Evie thought a lot about dying. What it would feel like, where she'd go. She trembled as Ace and Jesse talked. She knew a little bit about Jesse, but not much. She'd tried before to read his mind, but decided against it. Her powers weren't meant to be used like that. But escape. They were talking about escape. She listened intently, but didn't offer words.
Anastasia tugged a hand through her hair, gaze moving from the inside of the cell to the officer standing guard outside it, meeting his stare with a glare. He was the first to look away, and then she looked back to the boy in the corner. "I have a fun game." She said, her tone and demeanor making it obvious it wasn't all that fun. Nothing pertaining to their upcoming death really could be. "Let's all share what makes us freaks, huh?'
Evie's eyes darted around anxiously. With the extra nervousness, she was bound to release her powers soon. And rather violently. She needed to release some of the pressure… and quickly.
Jesse grinned a little at Ace, leaning forward and actually falling to the ground with a small noise.
"Well, I'll share first, then. I can grow into any size I want. But they put me in this thing so I can't." He grinned, as if proud of himself.
Ace raised an eyebrow, stepping forward and gripping the jacket to haul him to his feet with surprising ease. "Interesting. How 'bout you, over there." She said, looking to the girl who very much looked like she was trying to disappear into herself.
Evie flinched when Jesse fell. The noise almost made her unbridled powers spill from her fingertips. They let her keep her powers – not restraining her with gloves or anything like that – after she explained what would happen if she couldn't regularly release the tension. Actually, they let her keep her powers after they didn't listen to her and her powers almost destroyed the building. It was too much for her, and they saw how scared she was. They made her promise not to use her powers unless she was letting it out gently. Otherwise, there would be consequences. She didn't want to find out what they were. When Ace spoke to her, she curled up tighter. "I-I have… chaos magic…" Easily one of the most dangerous. Not just for anyone she used it on, because she wasn't that confident to use out yet, but for herself as well. She had been doing fine containing it until one of her neighbors saw her releasing a small buttery on her balcony one night and turned her in quickly. God, she'd been so scared that night… She almost sent the whole building down, which didn't help her case when she pleaded her powers were harmless because she didn't use them. She had no confidence and had never used them on a large scale before unless they were forced out of her.
