(oh I completely forgot I thought I posted something sorry)

Ace sighed. "I wanna start a rebellion. If I can form a third army, maybe I- we can do this. I don't know how many people want to stop the war, but maybe there'll be enough."

A grin spread across her face. "Whaddaya think? You in?"

@LemonGirl

(you're fine lol, don't worry about it!)

Aeden's forehead crinkled a little as he contemplated the offer.

In the past, he'd only ever tried appealing to supernaturals with a reputation, hoping that if he could persuade even one, his job might become easier. Of course, all that got him was the mark of a traitor, imprisonment, and the lack of any dependable allies.

Approaching humans was too dangerous if recent events meant anything. Most were more likely to try and kill him than listen to what he had to say in the first place, and it was difficult to prove his disposition even with the mark on his neck.

If he joined, her—joined Ace—and if they played their cards right, if they learned from past mistakes… It was a lot of 'ifs', but after all he's risked, Aeden was more hopeful than he'd been in a while.

He glanced up, faint determination glittering behind his normally timid eyes. He nodded sharply and returned her grin with a small smile of his own. "Yeah, I… I'm in!"

His expression quickly fell, though, as he remembered their position. They'd need to cover a lot of ground quickly in case the camp sent out a party to hunt them down. It wasn't just him anymore—Ace, by saving him, had also become a traitor to her kind in her efforts to help them in the long run.

And because I wasn't expecting to be traveling with her, I refused the extra supplies, he reminded himself, grimacing a bit.

"Before that, though…" he started hesitantly. "There's a supposedly abandoned settlement to the east. It's about thirty miles away, I think. That's where I… That's where I was headed when I was, you know…" He gestured the way they'd come helplessly. "Most of those places have leftover food and weapons, and it's closer to city," he added.

The city was where most supernaturals had elected to stay, picking off the weaker humans who hadn't managed to make it out. A good mix of both races should live there, and it may be a good place to start if they were going to try and recruit others to their cause. It was also somewhere Aeden had technically been exiled from, but he'd cross that bridge when he got to it.
