Other: After her father died, her mother married American businessman David Fernsby and immigrated to America. Elaheh's name was Anglicized and made more American by adding a middle name (Nesrin) and taking on her step-father's surname. Elaheh has a good relationship with her step-family, but she does miss her friends and life back in Iran. She was raised Muslim, but after immigrating, she began questioning her beliefs and currently is still uncertain. Regardless, she still observes Islamic worship traditions and holidays, and she still dresses in accordance with the Islamic dress code.
