Michi couldn't help a soft sigh of relief when she stepped into the sunlight. This was much better for her. She'd never been a fan of doom and gloom, which was understandable with her past. She took another bite of her burger, finishing it off. She watched the man a moment, thinking. He seemed nice enough.
"Hello," she called out, moving towards him. "Might I inquire where exactly I am?"
As the people left, all sounds from the outside seemed to have disappeared. As if the people who were in charge of the place had left. However, the floor above Troy had started to fill up with footsteps. More likely than not, the people had left to go upstairs.
“Amatsuki Yoru,” the man had stated.
“You are lost, I assume?” He’d asked immediately after the short introduction he gave. He looked over at the palace, gesturing towards it.
“Need a place to stay for now? There’s kind of… a war going on right now,”
The guy quickly turned back, sliding back slightly and eyeing the armor. His hands maneuvered to the back of his buckle, pulling out a small knife covered in a green substance which looked like toxic. The man slashed once at the armor, disintegrating the plate of the armor as the rest of it fell on the floor.
”Thank you,” he stated, spinning the knife and putting it back where it was.
”Do you mind following me somewhere?”
The man looked up, his straw hat blocking his eyes at first but he eventually pushed it up to reveal his emerald green eyes.
“Ah, this is the Silent Void…” he looked over at the other side of the garden.
“…even if it’s not exactly ‘silent’ at the moment,” he sighed.
"Oh. Well, thank you! I seemed to have gotten myself lost…" Michi offered a sweet smile, folding her hands in front of her.
"My name's Michi, it's nice to meet you!"
As the people left, all sounds from the outside seemed to have disappeared. As if the people who were in charge of the place had left. However, the floor above Troy had started to fill up with footsteps. More likely than not, the people had left to go upstairs.
Upstairs was good for him, because it gave him time to get out and get away. The door was locked, but it didn't matter. He was going to get out anyways.
Troy took a few steps back and set his feet. His wings unfurled and spread out and lightning began to spark off of him slightly. Gradually a hissing noise started to grow. it got louder until it was a painfully high pitch screech. A ball of lightning had formed in front of Troy. It was getting smaller and brighter. The moment it seemed to become too small to see he released it. The door exploded outwards a second later. It fell into pieces across the floor, smoke began filling the air as well.
Not waiting for whoever was upstairs to make their way back downstairs to find out what had just blown out the door, Troy jumped out of the room and started to run down the hall.
“Of course I mind,” Salaa said, sounding annoyed. “But I don’t have much of a choice.” She glanced at the thing that had before been armor for a moment and shivered slightly. This man would be a deadly enemy… not that she didn’t have enough of those already. Unless most of them were dead…
She straightened her shoulders. “I’ll go. Where do you want me to go? And-“ she hesitated, “who are you?”
Draco’s eyes narrowed before he let out a sigh. “Not again..” his voice was nothing but a whisper, though no doubt Amatsuki had heard him. Without hesitation, he nodded his head. “I would appreciate that, thank you.” He got the feeling that it wouldn’t be wise to just wander around aimlessly in this new area, especially now after hearing that there is a war going on—how did he keep getting involved in wars?
The gardener returned the smile, looking down at the flowers before turning back to the girl.
“Matthew Syrain, nice to meet you.” He introduced, looking at the girl’s features and smiling brightly. “It would seem like we’ve never met before,”
When the explosion had happened, some guards made their way downstairs to find Troy running towards the other end of the hall. The guards yelled to signal where Troy was, the front one pointing at the running man.
As Troy would close in the other end of the hall, the door opened up to show the man with the metallic crow mask, waving to invite Troy to him.
The masked man sighed.
”Anthony, Anthony Lethan,” the man had answered, leading her down the rather empty hallway. As he was making his way towards the end of the hall and taking Salaa with him, he opened the door at the end of it and revealed what was on the other side; an open field with a misty atmosphere.
”I suppose context is needed…?” he turned to the girl as the misty atmosphere gave a wispy, eerie sound.
Amatsuki started to guide Draco into the palace via the backdoor where they would be met with a garden. A suited boy of red eyes can be seen practicing his sword dance, his irises determined on his movements and how they should prove to be perfect and continuous.
“I assume you’ve seen some things before, correct?”
Draco took a deep breath, rubbing the back of his head. “If by ‘things’ you mean war, I can’t seem to avoid it.” His eyes focused on the man’s movements before taking a step towards him. He placed his hand on the shorter man’s back, pushing it in slightly, while straightening his arm. “You want to keep your posture completely straight. Leaving it slightly slouched like you were leaves room for injury and mistakes.”
This guy - Anthony - didn’t seem to like Salaa very much. Not that she blamed him. Not many people did.
She followed after him, wary of his motives but unsure what else she would do. He walked pretty fast, and she had to trot to keep up to his long strides. When he opened the door and asked her if she needed him to explain, she shrugged.
“I mean, I have no idea what this weird mist is. So yes, context would be nice.”
Michi grinned, nodding.
"Yes, indeed! Though…" Michi trailed off a bit.
"I'm not exactly sure what to do now. I'm sure my family is worried about me, and I have no idea how to get back from here…" Michi shivered a bit. She knew her sister would freak out when she found out her sister was missing. Not good.
Troy skidded to a stop when the person appeared in front of him, his fur bristling, as he was still in his beast form. He glanced back at the guards that were running towards him, then at the person telling him to follow. The same person that had locked the door, but not given him away. He didn't trust them but, he figured at the moment they were going to help him. He leaped forward, and past the guy in the doorway, then he stopped and waited for them, to either start following, or start showing him the way.
Amatsuki raised a brow at Draco’s interaction with the boy is black. The ends of his lips curled up slightly, liking the sight and the fact that Draco seemed to know how to fight.
The suited boy turned around when Draco touched him but didn’t resist his touch. He followed the dragon’s instruction, nodding while doing so. It would seem like Draco had more experience than he did which… isn’t surprising.
“E-uh… thanks—“
”Easiest way to explain; this is a soul mist. Basically, these are the evaporated souls of those who have passed away. It’s bound to get thicker from here,” Anthony had mentioned.
Within the mist, a man can be seen walking through as if lost.
The masked man in front of Salaa noticed the boy and sighed.
“Aisen—“ he had called out.
The gardener tilted his head.
“Well, you do seem like a strong individual. There is a war about to happen so… maybe you could go see?” He mentioned subtly, only going back to the flowers. He made a note to himself as to how the visitor looked somewhat familiar to him. He shook his head though when he couldn’t think of where.
The man in the crow mask closed the door and started rushing up the stairs, gesturing for Troy to follow him. He was taking Troy somewhere, most likely somewhere safer than the old and rusty prison-like structure downstairs.
Eventually, he would push a door wide open to reveal a room with some other… quite questionable individuals. The room wasn’t old, on the contrary, it looked new, shiny, and full of life. He turned to Troy.
“Welcome, visitor. I am Chris Ryan, a pleasure to be working with you,”
As the man who called himself ‘Chris’ would introduce, the other three individuals nodded, staying silent for the time being.
Troy's ear flicked as did his tail. His eyes narrowed at Chris. Figuring it best to actually talk with this person he switched to his human form. He thought about his words carefully for a moment. "I'm sorry, I don't work with people I don't know," he said flatly. His heart was still racing after the adrenaline dump from earlier.
"So… this is some sort of death place?" Salaa reached out her fingers to touch the mist, watching it swirl around at the simple movement. She frowned.
She spotted the new figure and stiffened, but when the guy in front of her didn't act as if the new figure was a threat, she relaxed slightly.
(You didn't.)
With a firm nod, Draco backed away from the boy and made his way back over to Amatsuki. “Am I to assume there are others here as well then?”
He glanced up at the palace, shaking his head for a moment— there was no way only two people called this place their home, there must have been at least six or seven individuals roaming the place.
A sudden thought crossed his mind : nighttime. So many questions were going to be asked when night fell, and they were questions that he was neither prepared for nor wanted to answer. Given the current situation the people in this place seemed to face, the last thing they needed was a god-born entity throwing a spanner in the works.
"Oh!" Michi was a bit more than startled by this information. A war? If anything, the best she could do would be a medic… perhaps it would be a good idea to find where she could help.
"Okay then…" Michi took a step back, ready to move on now.
(Don't mind me.)
