Crow and Dove stepped back a few paces. A few strands of Crow’s dark hair fell into her face. She dared to ask, “Why are you here?”
In the void there was nothing to levitate except for the people around them, so if it came to a fight, they’d have to rely on their other abilities. Dove painfully aware of this even as the fact that the people they’d first met were fakes sloshed around in her brain.
"Now lets have some fun," Hewalo said as they all went into beast mode, growing tentacles out of lots of places, growing monster teeth, etc.
"Here we go again…" Zofia muttered. Magnus drew his weapons but stood back, shaking at the sight of the tentacles. Lucien held out his sword.
"Vozreal," he said. "Please don't do this."
His eyes had changed from an inviting crimson to a hateful crimson, but one in his left eye. The other eye was still inviting crimson, to show that deep down, he was still a good guy.
"Please, we believe in you!" Allison roared, sword in her hand, but Vozreal seemed indifferent to the comments.
(Tick tock)
(… sorry)
"C'mon, Vozreal," Magnus pleaded. "You're on the wrong side."
Zofia tied her hair back into a long tail and drew her daggers. It looked as if their enemies were growing more vicious by the minute.
The tentacles lunged out of Vozreal and grabbed Lucien, and played with him as if he was a toy, a plaything. When he got bored of it, he threw Lucien to the ground very hard. Azrael walked up to Vozreal and whispered "LaerzoV," to him, to which he replied "I know, this is an illusion."
Dove and Crow looked at each other, and they transformed into their respective birds. Dove landed on Zofia’s shoulder, while Crow landed on Allison’s.
”This doesn’t feel like our fight,” Crow rasped. To everyone else, only a cawing sound escaped her beak.
”We still have to help them!” Dove warbled.
”But what can we do? There’s nothing to levitate!”
”Except for their weapons.”
”Except for their weapons.” Crow echoed. ”And maybe we can be the defense, while they can be the offense?”
”Sounds good to me! Just a sec,” Dove flew off Zofia’s shoulder and quickly transformed into a human. She focused on Lucien’s limp body, willing it to lift off the ground. He zoomed over to Dove, who laid him on his back. She quickly felt around his body, then whispered to Zofia, “This is your friend? I think he has a couple of broken ribs and a dislocated shoulder.”
"How about, you guys become birds and distract them?" Azrael replied to Crow, who was still in bird form. Azrael speaks every langauge, animal and human. She speaks Bird, Cat, Latin, Polish etc.
”I like that too,” she crowed. Though she was surprised that Azrael could understand her, she didn’t have time to dwell on it. Crow lifted her wings and dashed over to Cefora, nipping and snapping at his face and tentacles, using her super speed to nimbly avoid capture.
Dove, who heard their conversation, transformed and targeted Welato, following Crow’s lead.
"Damnit, Lucien…" Zofia muttered, rushing to his side, but she didn't have much time to help him before the action started. She cautiously pulled him away from the battle. She wasn't sure he was conscious, but she spoke to him anyway. "You'll be okay… I'll fix you, I promise."
Zofia left him, angry and ready to fight. She rushed next to Magnus and held out her daggers. The birds had started to distract their enemies, so she advanced, Magnus following behind her.
Allison rushed towards Lucien and started to heal him. Vozreal didn't want to hurt him, but if he were to keep the appearance of being on their side up, he would have to hurt everyone.
Dove shoved her small bird feet into Welato’s face before calling out, ”Azrael, ask Zofia how many daggers she has and what weapons Magnus has, please!”
Hopefully she and Crow could manipulate them to hit their targets so no one else could get injured.
"You! Zofia! How many daggers do you have? Magnus! what weapons do you have?" Azrael asked them.
Vozreal walked up behind Allison.
"Whats the big deal, broad?" Vozreal asked, eating a buclet of popcorn.
"What? But… But…" Allison stuttered.
"It's an illusion."
Vozreal then grinned like only a mad stroke of ingenuity and ingenious could create.
"I've got three, and Magnus just has his sword. Why?" Zofia had only two in her hand but always kept one extra tucked into her robes.
"What is Vozreal doing?" Magnus yelled out at Allison.
"Be quiet, you'll destroy the illusion," Allison said. Vozreal snapped his fingers.
The Vozreal next to Hewalo, Cefora, qnd Welato disappeared, thanos snap style. Cozreal had those inviting crimson eyes back. He was back on their side.
"I only asked because Dove told me to!" Azrael shouted.
Dove didn’t entirely understand what was going on, but as she moved around Welato, she warbled, ”I think we can manipulate the daggers to hit Cefora, and these two other guys. Do want us to use Magnus’ sword to hit this Vozreal guy too?”
"Vozreal's on our side now!" Azrael warbled back, "the rest ot the plan sounds like a good idea however."
”Ok! Tell Zofia to throw the daggers!” then she said to Crow, ”On three.”
"Zofia! Throw the daggers!" Azrael shouted.
”One…”
"Two…"
Zofia positioned herself, on foot in front of the other. She felt herself start to shake and her palms begin to sweat, but she ignored it. She aimed at her targets, ready to strike.
"Three!" Azrael shouted as Zofia threw the daggers at Hewalo, Welato, and Cefora.. Vozreal became part beast, bottom half was monster, and the top half was human.. Allison was able to heal Lucien completely.
"Lets get these fakeloo men!" Vozreal said about Hewalo, Welato and Cefora. (Fakeloo men is 1930s for con men)
"I have an idea," Azrael said.
