There was a reason all the gods of old vanished. It wasn't that they were forgotten - far from it - but they were depressed. After their civilizations crumbled, there was nothing for them to do, no purpose. So one by one, they faded. Only a few remained behind, because if they faded, the world would collapse.

Vita is one of these gods who stayed behind. The god of life… but he feels none of the desire to live. If he didn't care about the people, he'd fade.

But he can't.

All of his mortal lovers have died. Many of the other gods have gone into eternal sleep, and he wishes that he could, except that he can't stay away from the mortals.

None of them stand out… until he meets them. A spark in his dull, immortal life that he doesn't want to let go out. He could make them immortal, but that would mean destroying a happy family and telling them what he is. And if he does that, he's afraid that perfect spark, the only warmth in his life, would go out.

In case the description above was confusing, here's a snippet:
Vita is the god of life, and has major depression issues. He meets a mortal and falls in love with them, because they make him happy, and feel needed and loved for the first time in hundreds of years. But he's afraid to take the mortal into the world of magic, because it could break them, and he doesn't want them to suffer. So… yeah. If that makes any sense.

I don't care who I am, Vita or the mortal, but if you join, please tell me what sexuality you want to do so I don't have to decide. I don't care what it is. Just please tell me.

Yes, of course, this kind of got lost in my notifications, I'm so sorry, let me get a character up. Could we do mxm, and could you possibly play Vita? You seem to have an idea for the god, and I have a character that might work well with the god.

@Calanthe

Name: Dominic Taran Chastain

Nicknames: Dom

Age: 24

Sexuality: He's gay, but extremely closeted

Looks: He is about six foot nothing, but since he normally just slouches he appears to be five eight or five nine. His hair is a dark, straight blonde that hangs near his shoulders, and that he normally keeps in a ponytail. He always has a giant dopey smile on his face due to the fact that he's just that kind of person. He's just normally that happy or something. His skin is a light tan, with pinkish undertones.

Clothes: Dom's wardrobe consists mainly of hoodies, sweatshirts, cardigans, and basically anything long-sleeved. No matter the time of year or the weather, Dom is always wearing something long-sleeved along with jeans, he's just weird like that.

Personality: Dom's a bit dorky, loving everything science-related or really anything that can count as nerd culture. He spends most of his time indoors in his apartment, just chilling or watching reruns of any show on MeTV, he really doesn't like to really go out at all, and prefers to just hang out around his apartment. The only time he really does leave his apartment is only for work, at a nearby library. He loves what he does there, and loves the times that he gets to work on simple experiments with the kids there.

Likes: The Smithsonian Channel or National Geographic -cause he's a bit nerdy-, any old TV shows that he grew up with, curling up on his couch with a good book, and if he could hanging outdoors.

Dislikes: He doesn't really have that many dislikes, not that he loves everything, but he prefers to put as "I don't dislike things, but if I don't understand them, do not care for them, or find them to be stupid, I say, I don't appreciate them." So, he really just dislikes politics, drama/dramatic people, and just people who annoy him, like his next-door neighbor who is an A-grade Karen.

Hobbies: Reading, doing random experiments with stuff he has around his apartment, and just hanging out doing nothing.

Other: He always carries around an old gold pocket watch his father gave him when he was a child.

Name:
Vita

Age:
He's kinda lost track of how old…..

Gender:
Male

Appearance:
Vita can change his appearance. It varies from mood to mood, day to day, decade to decade, whenever. His gender stays the same, but his ethnicity, hair color, build, accent, etc, changes. Right now, though, and really ever since 1832, he's looked like a young man in his mid twenties, with olive brown skin, cold brown eyes, and bright, ice blue hair. He's about 5'11'', and slender, and walks with kind of a slouch, as if he's too tired to walk properly. He gives off a kind of hopeless air. He's pretty handsome, but people tend to keep away from him.
He wears loose clothes, like jeans and a t-shirt, and usually a hoodie. Nothing super fashionable.

Personality:
Cold and harsh and depressed. He doesn't really talk much, nor does he like to. He kind of just hangs around in corners. Introverted right now, it's hard for him to speak, or even find the beauty in life. He's just kind of… existing. He has a caring and loyal heart beneath all the bitter depression, but it's rarely shown.

Other:
He's the god of life.

(Sorry it took me so long! My wifi crashed, and I didn't want to write an entire long post only for it to get deleted haha)

The god of life wanted to die. Was that even allowed? Vita wasn't sure. It wasn't like he was going anywhere, but man, existing was so tiring. Getting out of bed in the morning took a lot more energy than should be allowed. Some days he just didn't get out of bed. Nothing was fun anymore. It was all just…

There wasn't even a word for it.

That day, he was walking on his usual path, that he took almost every day, although if you asked him what the scenery was, he couldn't tell you at all. He was staring down at the ground, watching his feet hit the cracked pavement over and over again, when suddenly he was on the ground.

Rubbing his head and looking up with his dull eyes, he realized that, not looking where he had been going, he had run into someone.

@Calanthe

((Oof, it's okay))

Dominic was exhausted, he had worked yet another all-night shift at the office, and he hated it. Not the fact that he worked throughout the night, he did that on a regular day to day basis on his random experiments he conducted or claimed that he was doing "research" and was really just watching a somewhat science-based TV show. He honestly just hated his job, he hated everything about it. He hated the monotony of it, and just the work he was doing. FIling papers, going through different files, it was just extremely boring in his opinion.

As he walked down the sidewalk towards the bus stop, he continued to scroll through his song, bopping to some of his music as he tried to keep himself awake with some of the horrible coffee they kept by the watercooler. He took another sip, before he felt as though he had bumped someone. He apologized and took a few more steps before looking back and realizing that he had knocked the other down, "Oh my god, I am so sorry." He rushed over to the other man, slipping his phone into his pocket and placing his coffee down onto the ground, reaching to help the other up. "I am so so sorry, I wasn't paying any attention, I hope you're alright."

@PrettyLittlePyro

The person he had run into seemed super apologetic. Vita didn't see why. They had just run into him, why did they care? Most mortals didn't. He accepted the offered hand, though, eyes dull. "It's fine," he said blankly. "It doesn't matter."

He ran a hand through his bright blue hair and attempted a smile. "Don't worry about it." The smile probably wasn't super convincing, though, but he didn't care anymore.

@Calanthe

"O-h, okay then." Dom murmured, feeling extremely embarresed. He had honestly thought that the other would be furious, and maybe behave differently, I mean most people would get pretty an- just drop it, he said it's fine, so it's fine. "Uhm, alright then?" He picked up his cup of coffee before apologizing once more then hurrying off towards the bus stop.

@PrettyLittlePyro

That must have been the wrong response, because the mortal seemed confused and maybe even a little unhappy. Vita watched them walk away with the faintest hint of confusion, a rare emotion to feel nowadays. He shrugged and kept walking, going back with his head down to look at the pavement with his usual dull, hopeless walk. It wasn't like he'd ever see the guy again, so there was no use thinking about it.
