Luna stayed close to the woman throughout the night who she found out was named Lillian. She also found out that the young countess was engaged to the young man named Darren, a handsome fellow who seemed to only have eyes for his fiancée. The trio stayed close to each other, the couple introducing Luna to the rest of the court while also starting up simple conversations with those that they talked. Usually Luna would hate such interactions, but being with Lillian and Darren made that task a very enjoyable one, even if the rest of the nobles were boring.

A smile tugged at his lips “my intentions with you are many and none all at once, I’m sure we could find something to do.” He winked and gently let go of the bloom, starting to walk once more. “I don’t blame you or your siblings for their deaths. That was your parents and grandparents mistake. What I blame you for is not allowing Elves their rightful place in a court. Never allowing to voice their concerns. Hell, you have the audacity to keep the lands you’re family have so selfishly taken.” His smile fell before he completely turned away from the prince.

“See, that’s your mistake, your highness,” Quent, Arno’s current partner, replied. The two of them had met before at previous parties and fancy dinners. Arno had only ever thought of him as a friend, but would it be such a horrible thing to marry a good friend, even if there was no romance? “There is no pressure here, no real decisions.”

The young prince wrinkled his nose. “I don’t make those decisions. I’m only a prince, and I’m certainly not the heir. Even Arno won’t be able to make any changes like that until he becomes king.” Sonbureli paused, glancing to the side to mull over a thought. “But. I might have enough influence to grant you an audience with the council.”

Luna broke away from the pair after a bit, giving them time alone to enjoy the party. She had to admit, despite everything that had happened to her family and species, she couldn’t pin all the blame of the royal family. She understood that the new generation had nothing to do with the destruction of so many elves, but she also knew their deaths wouldn’t be all for nothing. She knew killing off Arno would ultimately grant her full control of both the human kingdom and the elves, finally being able to offer her people the freedom they so desperately deserved. Yes she’d show mercy to the humans, proving she’d be a good queen but did she necessarily have to kill Arno to do that? She was brought out of her thoughts as she accidentally bumped into and older looking noble, offering a halfhearted apology. He scowled at her, the expression turning sour as he noticed her ears. She glared back and disappeared into another group of people before he could say a word.

Antonio slowly turned, and tilted his head at the young man in front of him “really? I have my doubts that your precious council will want to talk with me of all people.”
He had had scuffles with lower council members, going as far as stealing from them as well as possibly torturing one due to a scandals they’ve had started. “Don't bother young prince, I don’t think they’d take the word of a lowly elf very well, but I thank you for the consideration.” he turned back to walking and stepped into a gazebo at the end of the path, surrounded by wisterias and blood red roses

(Same!)
(And ack I’m so sorry- I’ve been less than stellar responding to rps lately)

Arno and his current dance partner remained together for another song or two before breaking off. Any longer and they might start to attract rumors that the prince had chosen a favorite. He would be asking Quent to return, certainly, but he also didn’t want any others thinking he made a firm decision quite yet. After all, there was still Luna. Standing alone in the midst of dancing couples, his gaze traveled around the room until it, somehow, landed on Luna and her rather distasteful interaction with a noble. He frowned, started drifting off into her direction, until all trace of her disappeared into the crowd once again.

Sonburli stood stiff with his hands at his sides, nervously biting at the inside of his cheek while Antonio spoke. “Oh.” He was right. Thinking the council would even consider letting him bring an elf to speak with them was a foolish idea. A part of him wondered why he was even so interested in this elf at all given what he’d been taught, but he’d never been this close to one before. And Antonio didn’t seem dangerous. “Where are you going?” He took another step, but hesitated again before following any more.

(It’s alright!)
Once away from the noble, Luna made her way up to the second floor of the ballroom, a place more reserved for socializing and relaxing, not that Luna wanted to socialize much with other nobles. She glanced over the edge of the railing. To look at the throng of people, so many dresses and well tailored, all designed to attract and seduce. She smiled softly to herself and shook head, how was she ever going to rule these people? Se wasn’t. She turned away from the crowd, giving up all hope that she had a chance. And maybe that’s was for good, Simone else would bring back elves, as well as their land. Not her. She found a balcony that lead out into the night. She took a deep breath glanced behind her, not caring if anyone saw but still wanting to be careful. She hopped up onto the edge and dangled her legs over the edge.

Antonio glanced over his shoulder and offered a wolffish grin, “no where your eyes can’t see, don’t worry my prince.” He reassured, standing in the center of the Gazibo. He thought it ironically beautiful, an assassin, standing under such delicate blooms. Antonio offered his hand to Sonburli, the smile staying on his face. “Care to dance? This is after all a ball.”

(Hey! I’m sorry it took so long to respond again, I’ve been racking my brain trying to think up a reply (with little luck). Just wanted to let you know that I’m still super interested and I’d like to keep going with this rp, but I’m gonna take a few more days off for a mental health/regain inspiration break)

@lavender_ladybug group

(Thank you so much for your patience! I've been doing a bit of thinking about my schedule and the things I'd like to place my energy into recently, and I'm unfortunately having trouble mustering the inspiration for this rp . As much as I'm in love with all the characters and plot so far I think I'm going to have to let this one go. If you'd like to bump the thread to continue at a later date I'd be happy to revive it again sometime, but if you would rather find another person I'm completely alright with that too :) Thanks a bunch again and happy holidays!)

@Festive_Fenrir

(Hey! Sad to let this one go but I understand. Thanks for all the effort you’ve put into the rp! I absolutely love your writing style and your characters! I hope to continue this later burn if not, I’d love to do another rp with you in the future! Again thank you for sticking around this long and I hope to write with you again! Happy late holidays to you as well!)
