So, I kind of have a vague plot… but when I say vague, I mean a general feeling. I do have a character though, so… there's that. And if anyone joins, I'll try to convey the idea. It has something to do with evil guards/police people, someone called the Crimson Lord, taking down the Queen, deals with demons, and maybe some murder. I dunno.
Anyways, some rules are in order!
- Please be active!
- Please answer with minimal one-liners. Thank you!
- Swearing is okay, just not every word.
- If you have any questions, or suggestions/ideas about the plot, please tell me!
Here's my boy: Adrian Kane
(Stalking. Also bump the rp we have together. I lost it :^)
Hi, this sounds like it could be interesting and I looked at your character! Mind if I join this?
(So did you want to explain any ideas you have for this?)
(Yeah. So, basically, I was thinking that your character somehow gets caught up in Adrian's plan to take The Bad Part Of Town (that's basically the slums, where a bunch of people who don't have a lot live. The Queen's Men, who are kind of like the police force, really don't like people from there because they think everyone there made deals with demons– which they didn't, but prejudice and such.) from the Queen's Men– maybe they want to join his 'cause', or something else. They meet him as the Crimson Lord (who lords over The Bad Part Of Town and is the Queen's Men Enemy Number One), but slowly get to know Adrian as he is without the blood and the mask and all that. Maybe they could try and convince him that killing all the Queen's Men and creating his own god-free and Queen's Men-free kingdom isn't the right answer.)
(Okay, that is a lot. If you have any questions about the general universe, or have any ideas you want to throw in, let me know!)
(That sounds like a really great and interesting idea!! Should my character just be someone who is living in The Bad Part of Town?)
(Awesome! And probably, yeah.)
(Ok, great. I’ll go on ahead and create my character and get it out to you asap)
Name: Rose Wilcox.
Age: 21 years old.
Gender: Male.
Sexuality: Homosexual.
Species: Human.
Race: Caucasian/Specifically French origins.
Appearance: (based off of https://www.instagram.com/newhopeblake/?hl=en). His build is lean and slender, having a light amount of muscle mass and weighing around 149 lbs. He stands at about 5’8. He has a few little scars on his body. His ear lobes and tongue are both pierced.
Clothing: On a casual day, he will tend to wear a large fitting t-shirt/sweatshirt/sweater, a pair of fitting jeans, and sneakers. When he wants to wear something more on the formal side, he tends to go for a white button down top, a pair of black slacks, and a nice pair of black loafers.
Personality: He tends to be more on the introverted side. He is quiet and timid, being easily scared by random things and the people around him. He suffers from anxiety and PTSD which can make trust and personal situations difficult for him. Under that, he is a genuinely sweet and caring person. He loves children and has a soft spot for those who may be in need. He is loving and a peaceful sort of soul. He is a submissive type, usually keeping his head low and trying to please people to stay on their good side, even when not necessary.
Likes: Peaceful situations, friendly people, children, sunny days, and soft music.
Dislikes: Yelling, harsh people, intense violence, the Queens Men, and politics.
Hobbies: Mostly painting and swimming
Bio: He grew up in The Bad Part of Town most of his life, raised by his single mother. He was an only child, but his mother still had to work hard to keep them afloat financial wise. But when Rose was 15, his mother caught a bad strain of the flu and passed away. For a short time, he was on the streets before he met a member of the Queens Men. That man, named Malachi, took him in and began to groom him in a way. There was countless moments of sexual, physical, and verbal abuse that went on during the span of many years. When Rose was 19, Malachi was killed in a fight with some of the rebels who live in the Bad Part of Town. Rose, not knowing what to do, went out onto the streets, though he has been recently interested in joining the resistance.
(Alright, he looks great! I'll get a starter up sometime soon.)
Good right-hand men were getting hard to come by. The problem was that they were all too loyal to Adrian and would fight anyone who said anything bad about him. These people usually ended up being Queen's Men, since they all hated the Crimson Lord, and unfortunately for his right-hand men, Queen's Men never traveled alone. His latest right-hand man had just gotten several body parts chopped off and would probably die. Adrian needed a new one– well, he didn't need one. He was just fine on his own. But it was nice to have someone he could mostly trust. In fact, he should probably just call them his very close acquaintance. Unfortunately, that really didn't go with all the other Crimson Lord nonsense.
In order to get someone who might be interested, he'd hidden secret messages all over The Bad Part Of Town in places Queen's Men might never look and told everyone in his group about it. Someone outside might also find it and want in, but he wouldn't stop them from trying. Some new blood might be good. Everyone in his group was really violent and not really very close acquaintance material. In fact, he was actively hoping someone other than them would find it. Someone nice, maybe, who was committed to the cause too. That would be nice.
Rose ducked into an alleyway as a group of the Queens Men marched past. He pressed his back close to the wall, his lanky figure tense as he waited and listened. Living on the streets had been tough. Avoiding the Queens Men has been much more difficult. After the death of Malachi, he believed that some of the Queens Men thought him to be the cause. Maybe that was just paranoia and they had no clue who he was, but it was something to think about and consider.
When he heard them pass, he exhaled softly and straightened, brushing off his sweater a tad bit of the dust that had collected from off the wall. He moved to push off the wall a tad but paused when he felt the brick slide. He turned to peer at it with a confused expression. A loose brick? With his slender fingers, he pried at the brick and managed to slide it out. Inside the little gap was a piece of paper. As he read the message about the Crimson Lord needing a new second, his lips parted in the slightest. This could be his way of healing. At least jointing the group. He did feel like he owed them, after all, considering that they unintentionally saved him from a lifetime of horrid abuse. There was a location listed as to where to go to inquire about this position, so he collected himself and the little that he had and was on his way.
So far, the only people that Adrian had seen for the open position were Timothy and Alexander, both from his group. He had fully expected these two to be the first to respond, and yet, he was still disappointed. Adrian shifted in his chair, the short list of candidates sitting in front of him. At least there was still time for more people to come, because he hated Timothy a lot, and hated Alexander even more. It wasn't that they wanted to kill him or anything, they were just really annoying. After spending more than five minutes with them, he started wanting to throw himself off a bridge. He ran a hand through his hair and then stood up. The people guarding the headquarters were instructed to let in anyone holding one of the pieces of paper he'd hidden. It had been quiet for the last hour, though, and he was getting bored. Maybe bringing a book in would have been a good idea, but it was too late for that. Adrian turned around and leaned against the edge of the table, head tilted back to stare at the low ceiling.
Rose eventually arrived at a building, and paused when he saw armed guards. He tensed slightly at the sight of the weapons and gripped the piece of paper in his hand tightly. When he got a bit closer, trying to keep his hands from trembling with anxiety. When he got up to the guards, they looked down on him and he showed his piece of paper that he found. After a moment, they ushered him inside and shut the door behind him. His lips parted in surprise as he hesitantly took a couple steps forward.
Adrian started slightly at the sound of a door opening and closing. It seemed there was another candidate. He didn't turn around right away but rather tried to guess who it would be. The third most-likely person to try and get this position would probably be Eliza, though he had never really been impressed by her problem-solving skills. Maybe, if he was lucky, it would be someone new. If it was, he probably shouldn't keep them waiting. Adrian turned around to see a young man– a strange, new young man– standing in the doorway.
"Welcome to my humble abode," Adrian said, giving him a charming smile that didn't reach his eyes. "Why do you want to join me?" A blunt introduction, yes, but he had to be sure this person wasn't just joining because he liked killing people. They did kill people there, but not just anyone. Reckless murderers didn't make good members.
Rose stood in place when he noticed the man standing in front of him. Could that be the Crimson Lord? When the man turned and spoke to him, he knew it was. The Crimson Lord was tall and fit, and Rose would have normally felt flustered if he wasn’t so intimidated by that smile he made. “Thank you,” he replied in as steady of a voice that he could manage when he was welcomed. But why did he want to join? Sure Malachi has something to do with it, but he barely knew much about the Crimson Lord and his followers, much less what they would look for in a second. “I.. I have personal experience with the Queens men, and I know how a lot of them think and act. I think that could be useful. I also want to see this place get better and happy again, and me joining all this could maybe help. If you’re looking for a fighter, I couldn’t lie and say that I was all about that. I’m not one for violence, I’d rather be around peaceful things..”
Adrian listened to the man speak, considering what he said. Most of the reasons aligned with what he himself wanted and the things he knew would help too. It might be nice to have someone who didn't automatically go fight everyone and everything. And whoever this man was, he probably would be better than the other choices. Especially Alexander. "Well…" Adrian said slowly, tilting his head slightly. "What's your name?" That would probably be a good place to start. It wouldn't hurt to give him a chance. If he didn't work out, Adrian could always look for another person. But this man in front of him seemed like a nice change of company from the people he was usually surrounded by. And from himself, too. Someone who liked peaceful things. It couldn't hurt.
Rose let out a soft breath when he had finished explaining, pleased with himself that he hadn’t slipped up too bad and made an embarrassment of himself when speaking. He licked his lips quickly and tilted his head up to look at the Crimson Lord, doing his best to try and look and feel confident. “My name is Rose Wilcox,” he stated. Should he ask the other man’s name? That couldn’t hurt, right? “What’s your name?”
"Rose… Wilcox…" Adrian said, savoring the words. That was a pretty name. It would be nice to have pretty things here again. "Well, since we'll be working together, I'll make an exception. Just know, if you end up a traitor, I'll have to kill you." He gave Rose a crooked smile, though it wasn't completely clear if he was joking or not. "My name is Adrian Kane. It's nice to meet you, Rose. Welcome to my club!" Adrian spread his arms wide and gave a small bow.
Rose had always been a bit self conscious of his name. He had gotten it because he was more delicate and pretty with feminine features. The amount of teasing he had received from it was intense. At the warning of sorts, Rose tensed and bit his tongue sharply, nodding his head a tiny bit. He had to be careful not to accidentally do it say the wrong thing. “It’s good to meet you too, Adrian,” he replied in a soft tone, giving a quick and polite little smile. It was obvious he was nervous and timid. However, he was more confused than anything. Why would Adrian want him over someone who could actually fight? Someone who was strong and masculine?
"Please, sit down." Adrian waved at the table and dropped into his own chair. It was time to inform Rose about what he'd just signed up for. The man looked nervous, but Adrian was used to people being like that around him, at least when he was the Crimson Lord. It was probably a good thing he was wearing his eyepatch. Most people didn't feel comfortable around someone with a blood-red eye, and he was pretty sure Rose was no different. He had to see it sometime, but that could wait until later. "Are you ready to really learn about what you just walked into?"
Rose looked over when he was invited to sit and did so, hands folded in his lap as his knee bounced under the table. He idly wondered why Adrian wore that eyepatch, but he knew better than to pry into the business of others. It was rude to do, he thought. “Yes, I’m ready, sir,” he replied with a little nod. He was used to calling authority figures ‘sir’. Malachi had made him call him as that name and that name only. He would get a slap across the cheek when he didn’t use that term.
