“Oh-“ Elias whimpered at the flame, craning away from it as far as he could. With the threat of being burned very real, the boy obeyed and refrained from speaking again. A million questions were spiraling in his mind— where was he being taken? And what would his uncle do when he found out?
A short journey later, they arrived at Rio's lair where he set Elias onto a chair and tossed him a water bottle. "Get comfortable kid, you'll be here a long time."
Elias reflexively caught the bottle, and after examining it, opened it with shaky hands. “Why? Wh-what…what am I doing here?” He kept his gaze averted, either off to the side taking in the appearance of his lair or at the ground.
"You're here because you are my enemies side kick. You are also his nephew therefore kidnapping you and asking for a large ransom should be a good deal." He said, coming back to where Elias was, a water bottle in his hand as well.
Elias hesitantly lifted his gaze to watch Rio approach, taking another sip of water. “But what if… he doesn’t pay the ransom?” He was almost too afraid to know the answer, silently reprimanding himself for even asking. His uncle would more than likely pay the ransom, Eli’s premonitions were too valuable.
