"Uhm….maybe? Let's just see where this road takes us"
He says with a shrug. He didn't really mind getting lost. He always looked at it as going on an adventure. But he didn't know how Penelope viewed it. He doubted she would enjoy getting lost.
"Okay! As long as we don't find ourselves in the alleys." Penelope said, giving Eli's hand a little squeeze. She often used to get lost so it was pretty normal for her to just wander around trying to find where she needed to be.
"Definitely"
He says with a smile, squeezing her hand back, though lightly. After a while of walking, they came across the cute little bakery. Pastel pink and white all over it with flowers in pots along the front of the building and in big pink words it read "strawberry cream bakery".
" knew it! Here it is!"
Eli says with a big smile. Proud of himself for actually remembering where it was.
"Ohhh!! I love it already!" Penelope's smile grew as they walked to the door. The flowers in the pots were putting out a beautiful smell that she just loved. Everything about it made her happy, and they hadn't even gone inside.
"Well I think you'll like it even more once we go in"
He says nudging her forward with a little smile. He hadn't been to this place in years. The last time he went was with his mom and his sister. But…..that was a long time ago. A memory meant to be forgotten.
(You can choose how the bakery looks inside)
Penelope walked through the doors excitedly, the smell of many different baked goods was like jumping into water. She looked around, excitement in her eyes. Someone could mistake her for a child. Matching the theme, everything was light pink, white, or with strawberries on it. The floor was checkered, pink and white, and the walls were off-white. Tables and chairs littered the floors, a doorway leading to a room with couches and recliners, windows all over those walls. In the back of the main room was the counter, the assortment of pastries and deserts both behind and to the side of the counter.
Penelope looked around with awe as she lead Elijah forward, towards the counter.
Elijah was always filled with such happy feelings every time he walked into this shop. He seemed to forget about it every single time he did. And being with Penelope made him feel even bigger. And let the fluttering on his chest begin.
"Here get anything you want. They're also hiring so we can talk to the manager today if you want."
"I would love to talk to the manager today!" Penelope looked at the large array of pastries and baked goods. She decided on a simple lemon blueberry muffin. Approaching the counter, she smiled at the person behind it. "Can I have a lemon blueberry muffin? Thank you!"
"Hm, a weird mix of flavors but okay"
He says with a little smile as he looks down at all of the sweets, having to bend down quite a bit.
"I'll have the cherry n cream turnover please."
He says with a smile, which is returned by the lady at the counter.
"I love lemon flavored things and blueberry muffins are the bomb so yeah," Penelope said to Eli as the lady behind the counter got their pastries and put them on little plates.
"Is there anything else I can get for you two?" Asked the lady with a smile.
"Uhm…..what about the banana shakes? Could I get one of those?"
He says tapping his chin as he looked through the menu.
"What about you? Anything to drink."
He asks, turning to Penelope.
"Uhm…" Penelope scanned the menu. "I would like the watermelon smoothie, thanks." She continued with a smile.
"I will get those for you in a minute, you two can go sit down if you would like." The lady smiled at the two of them and went in the back.
"Well, let's see….. Where should we sit?"
Elijah says squeezing her hand lightly as he began to talk to her, turning around to look at all of the tables. There were booths that lined either side of the store, the seats decorated with strawberries and white and pink flowers. I'mong with all of the seat cushions in the middle. In the center there were about five circular tables with two chairs at them each.
Penelope scanned the room deciding where to sit. "How about the booths again?" She asked. It would be fun to sit at a two-seat table but they would be all the way across the table from each other, even if it wasn't that far away.
Elijah was halfway hoping to sit at one of the two seated round tables. It was more romantic to him. They could simply look into each others eyes as they talked to each other.
But this was fine to.
"Okay!" He says with a smile leading her to the booth, letting her in first.
Penelope slid in the booth and settled in. She set down her plate with the muffin on it and took a bite. Letting out a small breath of satisfaction, she smiled. It seemed to taste exactly like something her grandmother made, but she couldn't figure out what.
Elijah slid in right beside her and looked at her with a smile.
"You like it?" He asks her as he leaned his cheek on his hand, squishing his face slightly in an almost cute way as his hair fell over his forehead and his blue eyes beamed at her.
Penelope nodded. "It tastes amazing, just like something I've had before. But I know I've never been here." She looked into Eli's bright eyes. She loved them, they were so beautiful and mesmerizing.
He caught her gaze just as he as about to say something. And all he could think about was "goodness she's adorable".
"Oh- really? I mean I guess you couldn't have but…..agh, sorry"
He stumbled around in his words a bit as he talked. Trying to shake his thoughts, he turned back to his turnover and took a bite.
Penelope smiled, a little giggle escaping her mouth. "Like it tastes like something my grandmother made a while ago…" She took another bite, enjoying it just as much as before. Subconsciously, she ever so slightly scooted closer to Elijah.
He smiled at her, happy that she was enjoying herself. A little redness rose up in his cheeks when she scooted closer. He took a bite of his own to try to make himself forget about the little feelings that were flying around in his chest.
(When you thought responded this whole time, but realize it's been way too long since you've seen the rp so you check it out again and find that you actually didn't respond…)
Penelope looked over at Elijah with a smile. "Thank you for everything. It's always nice, hanging out with you…" She said, somehow. That is something she would normally be too shy to say, but who knows, it must be the environment.
(XD it's fine! I do that all the time. Okay maybe not all the time. But at least once a week lol)
His face turned visibly red when she said that. He let out a really nervous laugh and raked his hands through his hair, searching for what to say.
"Yeah, no problem! It's always really fun hanging out with you as well!" He says to her with a smile.
"come on mate! Is that all you could say! Fool!" he thought to himself as he cringed.
(XD thanks)
"Oh, sorry, did I say something wrong?" Penelope saw how red and nervous Eli had turned and she felt like she had said the wrong thing. She turned to her muffin and took a bite, keeping her eyes on it.
"No not at all! I just uh…sorry I'm just awkward" he let out a nervous laugh.
