(oh OK)
Aya slowly moved her other wing to be folded behind her back. Her hair started to shrink and become light brown, platinum streaks running through it.
Chtayas nodded, pulling back, when a powerful burning sensation made itself known in her heart. Her face hardened once more, closed off, and the cracks in her body started glowing with rejuvenated ember light.
"I must leave, as I am being called back to the Depths," she told her companion.
"Oh, please don't leave!" Aya pleaded. "I'm alone. I have no one in Heaven. I have only you. Please don't leave me!"
Chtayas froze midmovement, caught in the middle of rifting the air. "There millions upon millions of angels," Chtayas deadpanned, narrowing her eyes at the angel girl stood before her.
"Yet not one of those millions wishes to befriend me," Aya sighed. She looked up to the sky. "You really are my only friend."
A meek gust of wind started collecting in the palm of Chtayas's hand. The demon inhaled sharply through her nose— friend. That was a strange word, one she wasn't used to and wasn't counting on picking up.
She shook her head. "Aya. Friends is not possible. The Authority is not one to forgive the mingling of Fallen Ones with his Children of Light.
Aya returned to her angel form in a painful flash of light. "I…I am being called as well." She looked to the sky. "I…I must fly. I am sorry if I hurt you."
Chtayas only nodded, inviting Aya to leave. Through the powerful angelic light, she struggled to keep her rift open— she only needed to sustain it until Aya left.
A beam of light only visible to those of Heaven or Hell engulfed Aya. It took her up to Heaven.
Chtayas her one and only friend disappear, anger against herself blossoming as she realized she'd let Aya become a friend. A split second later a violent shaking started, spreading from Chtayas's foot– as the earth shook, the air followed. It rippled and twisted until it ripped apart, forming a dark hole just big enough for the demon woman to slip through.
She did so, and the hole shut behind her.
Aya sat on the clouds, looking down. Her pale pink hair seemed to almost melt into her wings, which were gathering an almost pinkish tinge.
Chtayas emerged in a darkened room, the only source of light being a controlled flame burning in a niche on the far side. The demon woman took an echoing step forward, refusing to acknowledge the presence on the end of the bronze-tiled walkway.
"You're late," it grumbled huskily.
