"Robberies are pretty common, so are shootings, fights break out like clockwork, there's been near murders, rapists like to prowl around since a lot of the fans are young girls, I've seen it all. And that's just the easy stuff."

(Sorry! I went on a vacation where I couldn’t have service. THE HORROR!)
“Well, good thing I was shot before I could experience any of that! Quick question, by the way! Because this - I’m gonna call it a date - was arranged while I was high as balls on morphine, can… it be counted as a date?” The question was asked quite tentatively, and Charlie crossed his fingers under the table.
(Oh, I've been through that. It sucked)
Cameron smiled brightly at him, not able to hide the light coating of pink that dusted his cheeks. "Yeah, we can count it as a date."
“Wonderful! That’s wonderful!” Charlie said quickly, stumbling over the words. “So… what do people do on dates? I can’t say that I have much experience with this. Like at all,” he admitted.
"I have no idea. My career started when I was a junior in high school, I didn't get much time to experiment with dating." He shifted in his seat, he liked the idea of this being a date but he hated not knowing what to do from here.
“Oh, I’ve got an idea!” Charlie chirped abruptly. “I’ll take you to my favorite place in the city, and I can give you a tour!” He smiled. “Whadda ya say, Starr?”
He relaxed a little, his smile widening. "Sounds good. And please, like I said earlier, just call me Cameron. It'll draw less attention that way."
“Got it, Cammy! Now please, would you follow me?” Charlie said in a faux posh accent, standing up from his chair.
He rolled his eyes with a smile. "That works." He stood, pushing in his chair. "Let's go, before someone sees us."
“I think they already have!” Charlie remarked, pointing at the growing crowd of paparazzi. They surged forward, snapping their cameras and bristling with microphones.
He facepalmed, sighing heavily. "I knew this would happen." He glanced around, looking for his escape. "Come on, I know a way out of here." He grabbed his wrist and tugged him along down a few back alleys and sidestreets before emerging back out onto the main road around the corner from the coffee shop. "Bam. Crisis averted."
