Damian grumbled under his breath, but didn't continue to argue.
She giggled. "Oh my God, we're going to run away!"
"We've established that, yes. Plus, both of us are legal adults, Starr. I'm not sure it's quite running away." Damian teased, excitement shining in his eyes.
She got to the ATM and stopped in front of it, breathless from the running. She extracted her entire account from the bank. "Your turn," she said when she was finished.
"All cash?"
"Yup!"
"It's gonna be a lot of cash. Have anywhere I can stuff it? My pockets wont fit it all."
Starr thought for a second. "I could grab my backpack."
"Perfect." He shot her a grin and started typing away on the machine.
"Be right back then!" she called, sprinting off.
Damian watched her go, an odd emotion flitting through his chest that was gone before he could figure out what it was, and he resumed drawing the money from his account.
Starr returned quickly with her bedazzled book bag. "Here," she said, opening it up for him.
"They ran out of higher bills, so it's mostly in fives." He dumped the bills into the bag. "Thousand or so bucks in there."
"Why does it look like we're robbing it?" she asked with a quiet laugh, zipping up the backpack quickly.
"Oh, better hope no one calls the coppers." He joked, leaning against the machine.
She grinned. "Even if they did, we'd be outta here!"
"True. We must make our escape quickly and efficiently, leaving no evidence behind."
"Right. That means no purchases of rubber fries!"
"Why can't you leave my fries alone!"
