She shrugged, “I wouldn’t be the first choice in any situation.” Now that she didn’t have something in her hand to distract herself, she was shifting back and forth from foot to foot. The faster they could figure this out, the less sick days she would have to call in for her job.
"I guess we should get going, then," Jamie said, his Serious side taking over as he waked back out on to the steps of the town hall. The wave of reporters became almost impenetrable, refusing to let him through unless he answered their questions
“Everyone, take three fucking steps back,” Bella yelled at the top of her lungs as they swarmed around her and shoved recording devices and phoned towards her face. She had a face of pure stone cold on her face and she shoved through the crowd forcefully as they took a few timid steps back.
It was a good thing tat she had done that, because Jamie had been 3 seconds away from firing off a few warning shots with the gun in his waistband.
"The sewer," he said to Bella, "We need to find where the gas first came out and get in there."
“Then Let’s get going before these reporters make me loose my patience.” She huffed, still pushing through the crowd until she got out and was free of the swarm. Her eyes scanned for any sewer opening and she found one in the middle of the street a ways away, “Are we heading in right away? Or planning first?”
"Why wait?" he asked, puling the glasses from his face and walking over to the manhole. "I'mma need some help with this. These things are fucking heavy."
Bella rolled her eyes and sighed, grumbling about being hit by a car as she followed him over and crouched down to help. She was just happy that they were getting somewhere on the case and she would maybe be able to get back to her apartment within a few days.
