"Oh but what about your sister?" River started biting his nails out of instinct.
"Oh but what about your sister?" River started biting his nails out of instinct.
"Oh, she doesn't care that much. What about your sister?" Jeremiah fiddled with his fingers, looking everywhere but at River.
"Eh, she'll be okay. Probably." River laughed a bit. "So if you wanna we can go…"
"Sure, we can go…" Jeremiah kept looking around nervously, not sure what to do.
"There is this cute coffee shop near here, if you're up for it?" He took a breath and looked into Jeremiah's eyes.
Jeremiah looked at River and realized he was staring at him so he quickly looked away, blushing a bit more. "Sure, sounds good."
River smiled softly and took his skateboard. "ok let's go?"
"Let's go." Jeremiah smiled back and picked up his skateboard.
River started walking backwards to face Jeremiah. He walked past Carter, still walking backwards.
"Would it be okay if i borrowed your brother for a bit?"
Carter smiled slightly as she watched both of them. "Please, go right ahead." Jeremiah rolled his eyes and followed River.
"Sorry, had to." He laughed when they walked away from Carter. "She seems really nice though.."
"Eh, she it depends on her mood." Jeremiah shrugged, a small smile on his lips again.
River turned around to walk normally again. "Oh, the coffee shop is right there!" He pointed towards.
Jeremiah glanced at the coffee shop. "I've been here before."
“Really? Well then the whole illusion is gone now…” River laughed and walked towards the counter, leaving the door open for Jeremiah.
"What illusion?" Jeremiah asked, thanking River before walking into the cafe.
"The magic coffee shop illusion…" River smiled.
"I don't get it." Jeremiah looked around, the only reason he had come here before was to help Carter get out of bad dates.
"Eh, forget it…I'm probably the only person in the world who finds this place "magical", because i have a lot of memories attached to this place…" River sighed.
"That's cool." Jeremiah nodded.
“Anyway, lets change the subject…” River went silent for a minute. “What’s your favorite book?”
"Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. What about you?" Jeremiah asked.
“ohh… Um… Poetry. Just any poetry.” He smiled.
Jeremiah chuckled. "So, have you ever read Ready Player One?"
"Yess…I actually loved it." River smiled as they walked to the counter.
"Uh, yes, one black coffee.."
