Hiya!! I found it!
Hey! Do we want to use the same temp?
Sure :) I think I’m gonna make a new guy for this rp if that’s alright, though it might take me a while to get him up because using my phone to put up templates sucks
That's fair lmao. I'm gonna flesh put jazz a bit more, too, and post her when I have a computer to use
Ok :)
Name: Jasmine Elizabeth Joan Astares(her parents each chose the name of a saint they hoped for her to be protected by)
Nickname: Jazz, occasionally uses Liza
Age: 20
Caste: Caste Five
Sexuality: Pansexual
Appearance: Kinda like this Very pale blue/green eyes and a darker skin tone, complimented by long black hair. She always looks a bit mischievous, like she's constantly planning something. She stands at 5'4 and is stronger than she looks. Has a tattoo of a sunflower on her left shoulder blade, that is easy to cover up. Her features are almost feline-like, actually, something which provs either good or bad depending on the person she's talking to.
Personality: Strong, and fairly outgoing. Very good at acting, so she can fit into most situations and groups, as long as she does not disagree strongly with them. Is usually unafraid to speak her mind. She's a manipulator, partly because she has to be, partly because she wants to be. Having to help support her family at suck a young age lent to that, a need to be good at it in order to pull off schemes to make money.
Background: Her parents passed away when she was sixteen, and her older sister, then twenty, became their guardian. After her sister married, making her a three, Jazz took her place as their caretaker.
Family: She's the second oldest, and after her sister married up, became the caretaker of her siblings.
Older sister: Lotus Astares, 22. Jazz is slightly resentful of her eldest sister for leaving them as soon as she could, though she also hates herself for resenting her. Especially because she understands that her sister deserved the chance to be her own person too, instead of being forced into the role of mother. Lotus was the most responsible of them, and Jazz constantly swears that she's 'the most gorgeous person you'll meet. seriously'.
The twins: Rowan and Reed Astares, 17. Chaos beings. Jazz loves them very much. They're both whip smart and love causing trouble, helping Jazz out with schemes decently often. She gets along great with them.
Younger sister: Hazel Astares, 10. Is babey. Also smart as hell. Jazz is pretty sure she herself is the only one in her family who's not a genius. Loves flowers just like her sister, and learned to play violin from Jazz. They like to play together, letting the notes pick where they're placed.
Other: She's not actually planning to 'win', although she thinks that could be a nice bonus. She is absolutely terrified of thunder storms. Adores music.
Name: Raphael Caspian Perna
Nickname: Doesn’t really have one, though his brother calls him Raphie
Age: 21
Caste: One, he’s the prince obviously
Sexuality:
Personality: polite but a goofball, Raphael is really just a kid trapped in a young man’s body. He cares deeply about people he trusts but once his trust is broken it’s almost impossible to fix it. When he’s around cameras or the media he’s charming and shifts to a prince who has everything in control. Most of the time though he doesn’t and loves it that way, messy and fun. He’s cautious about falling in love though and hopes he finds someone during this selection that he loves. More TBH
Appearance: Raphael stands at about 5’9” and has curly brown hair that has a tendency to hang in his face if he doesn’t style it. Green eyes and tanned skin add to his slightly mischievous but princely look and go well with his lean but strong body. He also has a light smatter of freckles over his nose and over his body, though they blend in fairly well unless you’re looking for them.
Background: Raphael had a interesting childhood, his mother died when he was three and his father married his stepmother when he was seven. His stepmother was not a fan of him and after trying to kill him and his younger biological brother for several years she was banished by their father. The king didn’t remarry again and is now relying on him to find a wife and carry on the royal blood.
Family:
the king: James Perna. Raphael looks up to his father and the legacy he made by helping the kingdom. He’s stern but has a soft side for his sons and can frequently be found spending time with them outside of his royal duties
his younger brother: Sebastian Perna is Raphael’s younger brother by two years and shares a slightly mischievous streak with his older brother. The two are inseparable and have been through everything together. Both are sons of the original queen and the king’s only children.
The former queen: Leah Perna, Raphael’s and Seb’s mother and one of the former contestants in the selection. Won over James and spent four happy years with him before passing away of illness and leaving him to raise their sons alone.
The stepmother: Brooke Skilu. A beautiful woman that looked picture perfect to the people but was a jealous and terrible woman. Spent years trying to kill the brothers so she could carry on the royal line and have kids that would become the king. Was banished though and even though she has attempted to get back to the palace or kill the brothers she’s never succeeded.
Other: has a sweet spot for chocolate and loves to spend time outdoors goofing around with Seb.
i'm lov boy. also. jazz is taller than him and she will make fun of him, as soon as they're not awkward acquaintances.
i did have an idea tho??? consider, and we definitely don't have to, what if brooke managed to get ahold of jazz and offers to pay her, like a large sum of money, to get her into the palace or kill one or both of the brothers?
(Oh crap hold on he was supposed to be taller than that XD and yessss that sounds amazingggg) Edit: he’s taller now lol sry, I didn’t hit the right number
lmao, guess that means he'll be making fun of her. which is entirely valid too
(I do like your idea though :) that sounds really fun, shall we start?)
((perfect! and sure! could you?))
(I sure can! :D one starter coming right up!)
It was a beautiful day out, almost the perfect day for the ladies to be arriving for the dreaded start of the selection. The blue skies and warm weather made the palace look amazing, with the flowers blooming and trees full of green leaves. Raphael’s mind was far from that though as he and Sebastian dashed out of the palace and into the gardens, laughing and grinning. Soon it was clear who they were running from, the captain of the guards chasing after them, his pale white hair now a soft pink color from the prank they had just pulled. Raphael turned around one of the hedges of flowers and dove behind a rose bush, laughing softly and trying to catch his breath as Seb took a place next to them and they waited to see if the captain would find them.
Jasmine had never been the type to believe in fairytales.
When she was little, she preferred music. A lullaby over the story of some princess being saved and falling in love. And as she got older, that just cemented itself in her mind. Fairytales were made for girls who were already princesses, not girls who's parents died and who were left picking up the pieces of what was left behind.
But this place looked like something out of a fairytale, and Jazz had to stop and take that in. Stand in the gardens, the first place she had headed after arriving for the Selection, she was struck again with that thought. It looked near magical. But pretty things always hid secrets. She knew that well. So what were the secrets hiding here, and what would it take to find them?
"I think he passed by us." Seb whispered with a grin to his brother, jumping at the voice behind them.
"I'm afraid not Princes." The captain said, a slight matching grin on his face as well that shows he wasn't terribly mad and was used to the princes mischief at this point, "Get back inside, especially you Raphael, the girls will be here soon and the press will be going crazy to see your first reactions."
Raphael made a face but sighed, wining at his brother and standing up to go back inside. The fun was done, at least the captain had some new pink hair though. "Fine, though I'll be supprised if they don't grab Seb instead." The two of them stood up and started walking back to the palace, Seb rubbing in his height by using his older brother as an arm rest.
Jazz swept her hair back from her face as she walked, head tilted up to the sky. She was absolutely not looking where she was going, too focused on the blue and the fluffy white clouds drifting by, the vast above. It was because of this fascination with a sky that looked so different, that she walked directly into someone. And hit the ground.
Jazz had always stood out. It was her looks, hailing from good looking parents and being blessed with a love of skin care routines, that gave her that. But while she stood out in that aspect, her clothing did not. In fact, she was dressed almost simply, in a green dress that hugged the right places and fell loosely in others, doing well to cover her tattoo. Nothing about her outfit stood out. Slightly odd, considering she was there to win the affections of a man who had seen the best fashion had to offer. But what could she do, when it came to affording clothing at all?
"Mother of-that's my bad. I'm sorry. Are you both alright-"
Both Seb and Raphael were not looking where they were going as they walked, mostly because they were sure no one else was in the garden with them besides the captain. And for a while it worked, until Raphael ran into a gorgeous looking girl and completely knocked her to the ground. He did notice that, and stopped before he accidentally stepped on her as well. “Oh! I’m so sorry Miss, that was my fault, I wasn’t watching where I was going.” He said, offering a hand down to help her up and smiling gently. She was gorgeous, and it was a challenge to keep himself from just admiring her face instead of helping her up.
“Nice job Raffe, running into people.” He brother said, shaking his head and snickering slightly at Raphael. It was clear he wasn’t going to wait around to help though, even though he did pull together a princely act for a minute and say a quick, “Pardon us Miss, we didn’t see you there, sorry for my brother.” Though right after he and the captain continued on the path back to the palace and left Raffe to deal with it on his own.
It was rare to see any of the royal family out of a crisp suit or equally fancy outfit, but this was one of the rare moments. Raffe definitely didn’t look royal tan pants and white shirt stained with pink, unless you knew what he looked like and could put the charming boy from the media and this one together and figure they were the same person.
You ran into the princes. It took Jazz a moment to accept the offered hand, allowing the prince to help her up. They hadn't looked much like princes at first. From the ground, they'd looked like normal people, Which was where Jazz's problems started. She had run into them, literally, and made quite possibly the worst impression she could.
Which made her job here, the one more important than winning, even harder.
"No, it's-very much my fault. My head may have been a little too lost in the clouds, my apologies." She said, shaking her head as she straightened her dress. The fabric had gotten twisted and risen during the fall, requiring her to tug it down quickly before it rose any more. "I am not used to skies this clear."
“The sky is beautiful today, isn’t it?” He agreed, smiling almost sheepishly and motioning back to the palace, “Again, sorry for that, it was completely my fault. I’m guessing you’re one of the ladies here for the selection?” Raphael was almost certain that she wasn’t from the palace, mostly from the way she dressed and how much she had admired the sky. “I’m Raphael, as you probably would guess, and you are?”
The king, his father, was probably going to be frustrated that he wasn’t inside on time, though he knew for a fact that he was going to walk this young lady back to the palace before getting ready. It was something that he felt required and obliged to do after just running into her.
"It really is." Jasmine agreed, waving off his apology. At this rate, the two of them would just continue apologizing until they were forced to stop. Which might, honestly, be kind of amusing. If they weren't busy. When he spoke again, she nodded, pushing her dark hair back from her face. "Jasmine. Jazz, usually. Here for the Selection, yes." Somewhat unfortunately. Definitely unfortunately for you. "It was kind of a shock, honestly, and this is such a different environment than I'm used to. I'm always up for an adventure though." She joked, light eyes sparking with something like mischief. "Are you very excited for all this?"
The prince shrugged and laughed lightly, not his real laugh though, that was much different than the polite laugh he was doing at the moment, "I'm slightly nervous to be honest, though adventure is something I love so this is quite exciting as well." He brushed his stray curls out of his own face and offered her his arm after a minute, motioning to the palace, "Well, Miss Jasmine, shall we get back to the castle? My father is probably looking for me, and I wouldn't want you to get in trouble for being out here." Talking with Jazz was very much not something he should be doing, he knew that from the rules he had been told over and over again about the selection, but it was fun, and honestly he was looking forward to spending more time with her over the course of things.
