"I guess" said Rykah, "But I'm not tired…."
"I guess" said Rykah, "But I'm not tired…."
“We Can stay up, but I’m gonna have to go and get myself coffee to stay awake.”
"Ok" said Rykah sitting up his wings held loosely,
“I’ll be back. You want some?”
"Nah" said Rykah, cleaning some dirt out of his tail absentmindedly.
Will ran downstairs, ignoring the comments of his siblings. He cane back several minutes later, with s cup of coffee.
Rykah had finished with that knot of dirt and was working distractedly on another when Will came back.
Will sat down in his desk chair, carefully sipping his hot coffee.
Rykah suddenly flopped in frustration. "Do you have a comb or something i can use?" He asked his tail still on his lap.
( my hot water heater is leaking all over our basement floor)
(Welp… my basement is sopping wet again. And I have wet feet.)
(Well that’s great)
Will dug in a drawer for a second, tossing a blue comb to Rykah.
Rykah caught it, and sat up again, using it to try and get the knots out of his tail, wincing as he pulled just a little too hard on one.
(Yup… exactly how I wanted to spend my evening….)
“You Alright?”
"Lets just say that you have no idea how annoying it is to have to try and take care of wings and a tail." Said Rykah glaring at his tail.
(Im laughing right now…. i made myself laugh… )
“I’m sorry, Ry.” Will said, giving Rykah his best empathetic/sympathetic(I can never remember which is right) smile.
"Just be glad you don't have to put up with shirts and feathers" said Rykah with a wry grin as he put the comb down and flopped back to work the knot out with his fingers.
Will took another drink of his coffee, forgetting that it was scalding hot, and then hissed.
Rykah paused looking at Will when he heard the hiss. "You ok?"
“Just burned the roof of my mouth off. I’ll be fine.”
"Ok" said Rykah, Turning back to combing his tail.
A quiet scraping noise came from the other side of the room. Will turned, and saw the journal on the floor next to his door(hey that rhymed!).
He went and picked it up, noticing that someone had put a bookmark in to mark the last page they had used.
Rykah watched him for about to seconds before going back to his tail with a slight growl.
I guess you found this then? Well, that’s great. I thought Anna had thrown it away. Jack’s neat cursive said, in green pen.
Underneath that, in Anna’s horrible handwriting, with a red colored pencil, read, Why would I have thrown it away? It’s not like I make a habit of throwing out things like this!
Rykah finally got the last knot out, sitting up and using the comb to straighten his hair before leaning over and putting it on the desk, "what's that?" He asked, recognizing the notebook from earlier.
