Dorian opened the door and walked inside. Seeing Aria rush around, he quietly laughed and responded, “Hello! Thanks, but I’m good. What’s with the rush, if you don’t mind me asking?”
Dorian opened the door and walked inside. Seeing Aria rush around, he quietly laughed and responded, “Hello! Thanks, but I’m good. What’s with the rush, if you don’t mind me asking?”
"late for work, they need me in early. Low on staff. Ahhhh where is it where is it where is it!!!" She stubbled around, trying to find her phone "wanna come? That's if you have extra time of course."
“Ah, I see. And sure! I’d love to come along, I have some time… Not that I care if I’m late to work anyways,” he winked at her, trying to get her to calm down a little bit. He started to look around for her phone, and found it sitting on a table. “I found your phone,” he called as he picked it up.
"thank you," she smiled at him "and you should be worried about being late, one more late arrival and your fired!"he glared at him, trying to tell him how serious this was but couldn't hide her smile. She didn't know why but he always made her smile. It was starting to piss her off. "Come on, unlike you, I like my job and wish to keep it."
“They won’t fire me- my boss loves me too much to do that. I guess good looks really are important in the job industry,” he used a fake, full of himself voice, and flipped his hair. “Besides, I have my uniform in my bag, I’m good, “ he patted his backpack. “I dont understand why you’re so uptight about your job,” he followed her, “if you got fired you’d have more time to spend with me.” He flashed a smile at her.
She rolled her eyes, turning away quickly so he wouldnt see her blushing "I like my job, it doesn't include interactions with people as much and I get to read as much as I want. Plus it's not like I do that see you enough already." She flashed a smile and walked out the door, locking it behind her. Plus it pays good. I need the money if I want to move out of this dump."she said as they walked down the stairs
Following along side her, Dorian murmured, “You know, if you hate it that much you don’t have to stay here.. You could stay with me if you wanted, I don’t have a roommate.” He turned away as he felt a blush creep up his neck. He glanced back at her and the blush only got worse. Aria had been his crush since forever, she was just so beautiful and sweet- if she ever moved in with him it would probably ruin all his chances that he would ever have to start something between them. He shook his head, and added, “And you like your job? How strange is that, no one is supposed to like their job,” he joked, hoping she wouldn’t notice the blush.
She blushed harder "I wouldn't want to put that burden on you Dorian, and for your information, I love my job, not like it, love. It." She said as she poked him in the chest. "You just haven't found your passion yet." God's above she wanted to move in with him, better yet she wanted to be with him, not as friends, but as partners, lovers, she wanted him ever since she laid eyes on him. She shook her head out of the fantasy and turned left on High St. "How's your kitty?"
Dorian rolled his eyes sarcastically at what she said about her job, “Fine then, if you say so.” He started to notice the fact she was blushing, but thought better than to bring it up, considering how he was. “And yeah, I guess you’re right- being a growing author doesn’t offer very much pay, but having to work to be able to live takes up too much time to write anything good,” he laughed to himself. Most of the stuff he wrote included sappy poems he wrote for Aria but chickened out on and slow moving supposedly “action” short stories. As they turned on the street he finally replied to her question, “Oh, Angel? She’s doing good- still the same trouble making fluff ball. Oh, she did get over her cold though, so that’s good! She misses you though, you should come over soon.” He rambled on a little bit, then bit down on his lip to shut himself up.
She smiled, the blush finally leaving her face. "I'd like that, maybe then I can read some of your work? And of course see Angel." She asked hopefully "how about tonight after work?"
He smiled back at her. “That sounds great. Angel will be very happy.” He winked at her. “Just warning you though, most if not all of my work is really bad, so you might want to pluck out your eyes after reading it.” He nervously laughed. He didn’t believe anything he wrote was that good, and had never actually shown it to anybody.
"you know that's not true, or else they wouldn't keep you around. A lot of your Co workers say your poems are great! I'll read some of those. And I promise I won't pluck out my eyes if they're bad." Finally! A night just for them. She didn't care if she spent it reading, just as long as he was with her. "How about 5:30?"
He huffed, “Well, fine.. If you insist on reading them, then fine, you know I can’t deny you anything..” He trailed off, then turned so he was facing her and walking backwards. “And thank you for promising not to pluck your eyes out- you have really pretty eyes, so it would be a shame to see you lose them on my behalf.” He flashed a blushy smile, before turning back around and replying, “5:30 sounds great! Do you want me to meet you at the library, then we can walk to my place from there?” He couldn’t help the way his heart started to pound in his chest at the thought. He knew this wasn’t a date, but still… She wanted to spend the time with him, and who knew… Maybe after she read some of his poems, he’d get the courage to say something? He shook his head slightly, tossing away the thought.
She blushed at his comment about her eyes "Yea, we can meet at the library. I don't mind." She tucked her hair behind her ear in a nervous gesture and continued walking. Every step was a few nervous flutters of the heart. why was she nervous? It was just a fun night with Doria. The boy she grew up with, the boy she told everything and anything to, the boy he trusted with her life and heart. The man she had learned to love with every inch of her being. The man she wanted. With a sigh, she climbed the stairs to the library "coming inside?"
“Sounds great. And sure, I have some time,” Dorian followed her into the library. Wether he really did or not, he wasn’t sure, but he would have jumped at any chance to spend even a fraction more time with Aria. He could always get other jobs, but there would only be his one best friend, his one love. He ran a hand through his hair, moving his bangs out of his eyes, before continuing to follow her.
SHe smiled as she ruffled his bangs back in place "you look better with them messed up. like the bad boy cute type." She jogged up to the secretary desk "Hey Jackie, mind if I start early?"
"course not head right up, hey Dorian," she said with a friendly wave
"Thanks." she pushed a button on the elevator leading up to the 5th floor
He smiled and blushed slightly, before saying in a joking way, “Did you just say that you think I look cute?” He raised his eyebrows in her direction, but couldn’t keep the surprised look on his face for long. As they walked up to the secretary desk, Dorian waved back at Jackie and flashed a small smile, “Hey.” He then followed Aria into the elevator, and went to the corner, leaning against the wall.
"that's for you to figure out." SHe said with a wink. She liked this new confidence that she was gaining, she felt as if she could finally tell him her true feelings. but not yet, she would wait until later.
He crossed his arms, and gave her a look, “Fine, I see how it is,” he said in a fake snarky voice. He sarcastically rolled his eyes, then looked back to her, laughing quietly at himself.
She gave him a pouty look and smiled "aw did I get Dori dork mad?" The doors opened to the kids floor. Immediately Atia was bombarded with kids
"Hey guys! Let me but my bag down and then we'll start." She said with a cheerfully smile
"How long ya staying?" She asked Dorian as a little girl tugged at her arm to be held
Dorian pouted and said, “You did you big meanie!” And proceeded to stick his tongue out at her. When the doors opened and all the kids started to crowd around Aria, he took a step to the side, and said to Aria, “Well, would you look at who’s popular.” He took another step to the side and said, “I can probably stay for about five more minutes, and help you set things up at least.” He looked around at the little kids and half smiled. He personally loved little kids, but always got really self conscious around them, as most of them found him scary with his piercings and such.
"great! I'll need those seats moved over there for the guest speaker that coming" she pointed to kiddy chairs near the corner
"Arie us that you boyfriend?" Julicca, a little girl asked her. Aria crouched down "did you bring back your book on time?" She asked. Julicca. Julicca nodded her head, a bit confused by the change in subject "yes I did"
"Then that answers your question." Arua said gently, picking the girl up and swinging her around before leaving to head food from the storage room
“Okie dokie,” Dorian said, then headed over to start moving the chairs. As he was walking over, he heard the little girl ask Aria if he was her boyfriend, and the way how she avoided the question. He found it somewhat strange that she didn’t just say no, but let it slip out of his mind. That probably didn’t mean anything… But what if it did? He involuntarily cast a look over his shoulder at them, then turned back and finished arranging the chairs. Once he was done he jogged over to catch up to where she was heading, then asked, “You got anything else you want me to do?”
stay with me she cast the desire aside, knowing that he had to leave and that it would be selfish of her to keep him here "no not that I can think of." She said with a charming smile "thanks for your help." She walked him to the elvator "see you at 5:30"
“Alrighty, and of course, it’s my pleasure to help out! See you then.” He hit the button for the first floor, and shot a smile and wink at Aria. The doors closed, and only then did he check to see the time. He quietly cursed under his breath. He’d be late for sure- if he sprinted all the way there he could possibly be only fiveish minutes late. He shoved his phone into his pocket, and arrived at the ground floor. He said a quick “bye,” to Jackie at the secretary desk, then made it outside. He tightened his backpack, then started to book it down the street.
