Sterling bit back a sharp intake of breath at how close their faces were. His gaze flicked between her eyes and her lips before he pulled away, clearing his throat.
“Mmhm. Yeah. So, anyway… Should we get back to our movie?” he wondered, trying not to think of what just passed through his head.
He’d almost kissed her… And he couldn’t do that. He couldn’t ruin this friendship again.
Harlow new how close they had just been, but the funny thing was she had felt for him once and was rejected. And even though it was hard she got over him once and hadn't planned on letting her heart feel for him again but there was still a spark that fluttered through her entire body.
Harlow cleared her throat before answering, "Ye-yeah… that'd be best." then took a seat, sipping on her drink while her eyes locked on the T.V.
Sterling hummed and nodded as he sat back down as well, picking up the remote from the table as he did so.
"This is one of my favorite movies," he said as he pressed 'play', trying to lighten the atmosphere again.
(idk where to take it from here)
"Yeah, it's pretty great." Harlow sighed trying her best to not feel the tension in the room.
(Wanna skip to when the movie is over?)
Sterling yawned and stretched out as the credits rolled. He grabbed his cup from off the table in front of him, took the last sip of his drink, and turned to Harlow.
“Well, it was nice having you here and watching the movie with you,” he said softly. “Are youbgoing to stay longer, or did you need to be somewhere.”
Harlow sat up wrapping the warm blanket around her that they both ended up sharing. Harlow checked the time; 8:45 pm.
"I should go, I have work in the morning and Lemonade won't go to sleep until I'm home and in bed." Harlow smiled and stood up, still holding the blanket around her body.
(I love how her dog's name is Lemonade. Lol. I have a character who's cat's name is Strawberry… Wait, that was Kenzie! XD Lol.)
Sterling looked up at her and smile before standing up as well. "Sure. I'll let you out," he said, nodding toward the door.
"Thank, this was fun." Harlow then placed the blanket back on the couch and headed to the kitchen to gather her belongings.
"It was. I'm glad you came over," Sterling said, his smile widening slightly as he walked over to the door to wait for her.
Harlow slipped her shoes on and slung her bag over her shoulder ready to leave. "We should do this again or grab a coffee sometime, hangout."
Sterling nodded, grinning at the idea. "Yes, we definitely should. Maybe Tuesday we could meet up for a coffee? Do a bit more catching up?"
Harlow smiled and nodded in agreement, "Yeah, definitely." Harlow opened the door, stepping out waving goodbye with a smile painted on her face but then she began to yawn. "Goodnight."
“Goodnight, Harlow,” Sterling said, waving her off with a soft smile.
(Wanna skip?)
(Yeah, maybe they can start a few days later? Could be busy with work or unpacking. Something like that.)
(Hey, Kate. lol.
Harlow could come help unpack?)
(Haha, yeah…. been awhile since I've been on. NB like 'suspended' my account and I couldn't log in. I tried a while ago.)
After a quiet, dull, day at work, Harlow had seemed eager to get home to play with Lemonade. She has felt that she had neglected her in recent events. Pulling into her driveway she noticed Sterling still at work unpacking what looked to be overflowing boxes. Stepping out of her car, Harlow made her way to the back gate to her house, opening it to let Lemonade out and play.
"Hey, girl! How are you!" Harlow cooed Lemonade and she jumped around and up at Harlow, excited. "Yeah, I know! You ready to play! Let's go for a walk." Harlow pulled her leash from the fence and clasped the hook on her collar.
Harlow walked over to Sterling's door and knocked three times. Harlow hoped he could join her but she looked through the window and saw how exhausted he looked.
