I absolutely know I should not be starting another one of these but hey don’t judge me, they are super addicting.

Anyway, I just really want a juicy rom-comedy oxo with a new character I made recently, who is an absolute witty sarcastic mess. I’d also really like to do fantasy, if not dark fantasy. I do have a storyline in mind, so if someone joins, I’ll go ahead and explain it.

Rules, ig:

  • Rated whatever, we can take it to pm’s if needed
  • Cussing’s fine, but no derogatory slurs
  • No controlling another character
  • Have fun my dude
  • No insanely difficult characters to work with (exceedingly edgy, ungodly stupid, op)
  • please be relatively active ;-;

Temps will be up once someone joins :3

It’s about Character A, a typical protagonist, who is on their stereotypical quest for whatever. In every story, there’s that thing about “fate.” Fate this, fate that, call it destiny— whatever. But… what happens when so called “fate” is a person, character B, and follows our hero through their ordeals?

Basically, upon chara A’s adventures, they bump into chara B, who takes a liking to ‘em very quickly and decides to accompany them— making it either much worse or much better for A. After all, it’s all the work of fate.

(I have a super good boy for A, so I’d take that, if that’s alright? It’s up to you, really. Also do you have a preference on pairing? My chara’s male, so it can be either bxb or bxg)

(Also this probably sounds confusing, but Character B is technically the embodiment of coincidence, and has some kinda ethereal power)

@Fraust

Full Name: Alistair Marix
Nicknames/Aliases: Seven, Ali
Age: We can decide this aha
Gender: Male
Occupation: Messenger

Personality: Ali is incredibly scatterbrained, but well meaning. He's pretty much incapable of focusing on anything ever and he often finds himself lost. Making plans isn't really his thing, so he just goes with the flow. He tends to cling to whichever person is nearest to him and is like a stubborn flea. It's hard to get rid of him once he's decided you're his friend.
Mannerisms: Likes to chew on a blade of grass while he's walking around, his hands always seem to be trembling, he sticks his tongue out slightly when he's focusing, he pretty much just can't speak when he gets overwhelmed
Hobbies: Ali likes to write poetry and make little sketches of flowers he sees on his travels. He isn't a very good artist, but he's trying his best.

Race: Human
Physical Appearance:

Normal Attire / Gear: He generally wears a vest with comfortable pants and a hat. He also wears boots most of the time since they're comfortable and convenient. He always has some kind of bag or case with him to carry mail, his sketchbook, and pens/writing utensils.

Backstory: Alistair was born into a family with six older brothers. He spent most of his life trying to live up to their expectations, but eventually decided to just leave home and wander instead. Strange things always seem to happen around him, but he isn't quite sure why… it's always situations that seem impossible or unlikely or like they happen just because he arrived, but he thinks it's just a coincidence.
Family: He is the youngest of seven boys and has two living parents. He is currently very lost in the world and has no idea where his family is.
Other: Being the seventh born, he gained the nickname 'Seven' and often goes by it instead of his real name.

Full Name: Garth Dawn
Nicknames/Aliases: Dawn (almost never goes by Garth)
Age: 19
Gender: Male h/h
Occupation: Traveling adventurer

Personality: Extremely sarcastic and witty, looking for a joke at every turn. He knows how to withdraw it, however, and control his temper/emotions for the situations he’s in. He can be considered level-headed and awfully stubborn, not many people getting on his nerves easily. His sarcasm and sense of humor is generally more calm instead of extravagant, and he uses that bleakness to his advantage. He can be quite the dark person, but always means well.
Mannerisms: Cracks his knuckles absently / makes exaggerated movements when speaking / he’s rarely seen with a genuine smile on his face
Hobbies: Exploring, really / music / puzzles / archery, even though he uses a halberd

Race: Tiefling (demon hybrid)
Physical Appearance: Dawn’s hair is a dusted blond, almost caramel, cut shorter on either side of his head with longer, cascading strands parted to the right. It’s pushed back and over, but rarely stays there, falling into his sunken grey eyes. Each year they seem to grow darker and darker, almost black beside the pupil. He has tanner golden skin, as a result from being outside extremely often, with interesting tan marks from his armor/tunic. Freckles and pigment dot his shoulders, back, and chest, cradling up his neck and across his cheeks. His horns are like that of a ram, curled around to touch his pointed ears, and horribly uneven. His left one is loads shorter, and both get darker toward the top. His tail, arrowhead, stretches out behind him at least 3’, and he stands at 5’8”.
Normal Attire / Gear: A simple, leather tunic with cream undergarments, and a silver halberd strapped to his back. He has higher-cuffed boots fashioned for his race, and simple belts to accompany his halberd’s strap.

Backstory: …….. tbd really, but he read a book that tasked him with traveling to the Mountain Pass. He doesn’t know why, just knows it’s a sacred place, and it’s going to take a hell of a long time to get there.
Family: Unknown, by him. He grew up as an orphan, then an apprentice to a chef (Bartholomew, age 47). He taught himself weaponry, but that’s beside the point. This dude knows how to coOk
Other: N/A

@Fraust

(He absolutely has untreated ADD and I care him 🥺. He tries his best lol. What if letters like, magically appear in his satchel thing and he has to deliver them to people? And that's just like, his job lol. Like he found the satchel and he's like "oh okay I guess this is what I'm doing now")

@LittleRiver local_movies

(Alrighty)

It had been a few days since Dawn found the book, yet he still resided in town. There was no way he could just up and leave everything to go to Mountain Pass now— especially when he had just payed for this inn room. Adventuring didn’t necessarily have the best pay.
He sat on his bed, the wooden bunk seemingly less comfortable than a literal boulder. His black eyes gazed absently over the pages of the book, which was just titled “Waltz.” It had such little information about the secrets of the world, but gave Dawn just the finest amount of clues he needed to start traveling. He’d set out tomorrow— for it was already extremely late— for the pass. It was a horrid, treacherous, tedious journey, but it was worth it. Or, was it? He had… no clue whatsoever.
Finally shutting the book and setting it aside with a clawed hand, Dawn strode over to the window, tail lashing behind him. With a forceful shove, he opened the stained glass, letting the night breeze drift through the slots in the balcony and into his diminutive room.

@Fraust

Alistair ran along in the grass, panting softly with a bright grin on his face. He checked the name on the envelope in his hand and looked up at the man far ahead of him. Above him, he could see his name lit up in bright light, almost like miniature suns compiled together into letters. He was unaware that these names were something that others couldn't see, but they were what helped him deliver all his letters.
"Sir!" He called out, the tail of his jacket trailing behind him in the wind. "I have a message for you, Mister Dawn!" He eventually managed to catch up with the tiefling, panting hard and holding up one finger while he struggled to catch his breath. After he'd done so, he held out the envelope to Dawn. "Here you are, sir!"

@LittleRiver local_movies

Dawn looked down from the balcony, eyes blinking quickly as he tried to figure out who, exactly, this small person was— and why he’d gotten a letter. With swift movements, Dawn hopped the window, trailed down the balcony, and landed on the ground just before the other boy.
“I have… so many questions,” Dawn muttered, a slight laugh breaking his words. He took the envelope slowly, tentatively, eyeing the other boy before glancing down. For some odd reason, the note didn’t have any name to it. At least, none that Dawn could see.
“H-How do you— Who are—,” Dawn stuttered, squinting back up to the boy. “Who’s this letter from?”

@Fraust

(You should totally do it lol)
"No idea, sir!" Alistair grinned up at Dawn, still seeming very breathless from running. "It's illegal to read other people's mail, you see. I have no idea who It's from, what It's about, why they sent it, or how it got into my bag! All I know is that it's got your name on it and somebody sent it for some reason. Pretty sure these messages are real important, sir. They talk about… important things? I think, anyway. Do you have any friends? Any deals with the devil? Secret lover~?" He asked, rambling on and on without leaving much time for Dawn to answer questions.

@LittleRiver local_movies

Dawn smiled at the charismatic man before him, nodding along to his words.
“Uh— No, I don’t have of those,” he said sheepishly, tugging at the lacing on his tunic and narrowing his eyes. “Not even a secret lover, contrary to many people’s wishes.”
He skimmed over his entendre, pocketing the note despite his burning curiosity. If it was information so important to the point where someone sent him a letter, he figured it would be best for him to read it in solitude.
Now, without the hassle of pleasantries, Dawn could get a better look at the man. He seemed roughly the same age, and those piercing yellow eyes seemed to almost catch Dawn off guard.
“Anyway.. who are you?” he asked, cocking his head. “And how did you know I was Dawn?”

@Fraust

"I am Alistair! I am the seventh of seven brothers, I deliver seven letters roughly every seven months because travel is hard, I wear a size seven, and probably other seven things! You can call me Seven if you'd like!" He grinned brightly and held his hand out to shake Dawn's. "And I knew you were Dawn because it says so on your letter and right up there!" He pointed to the empty space above Dawn's head with his free hand.

@LittleRiver local_movies

Dawn shook Alistair’s hand tentatively, eyeing up to where he pointed and raising a brow.
“Ah— Interesting,” he mumbled, figuring it best if he were to leave certain questions alone. The redundancy of the word “seven” drew his attention back to the conversation at hand.
Dawn’s tail swished behind him, slowly and calculated, as his eyes gazed over Seven. It was almost predatory, with the exception of Dawn’s nearly confused expression. He let go of Alistair’s hand with slight reluctance, clasping both hands behind his back and giving a bow.
“Well, Alistair, it has been a pleasure meeting you,” he replied, standing upright once more. “Thank you for the letter.”

@Fraust

"No problemo, sir! Where are you going?" Seven asked curiously, starting to follow along beside Dawn. "I go all sorts of interesting places, but I always gotta go alone! I'm so lonely and bored and I just wanna get to talk to people other than just giving them their letters, you know? I dunno if people even appreciate their letters because they always make me go away before they read them! I wanna know what it's all about!"

@LittleRiver local_movies

Dawn squinted down at Seven as he pushed open the door to the tavern and inn, taking a seat at a nearby table. The bartender off to the side paid them no mind as they polished a glass. The tavern was relatively empty, granted for how late at night it was, and the only residents were those in the inn rooms on the second floor.
Dawn curled his tail around one of the pegs on the chair, taking out the letter and setting it on the table. He tapped his claws absently on the table, cocking his head to the side as Seven spoke.
“I get what you mean,” Dawn replied. “I don’t much like traveling alone, either. It’s a bore, isn’t it?”
He paused for a moment, leaning back and crossing his hands on the table.
“As for where I’m going next, I’m traveling up to Mountain Pass. Hopefully.” Before Seven could reply, Dawn continued. “It’s a far travel, I know, but I’m willing to take it.”

(You have any ideas as to what’s in Dawn’s letter, or should I just make it up..?)
