(Alright!)
She woke up that morning in his arms, humming softly. She felt safe, a feeling she hadn't felt in a long time. She snuggled closer to him, bringing the comforter closer to their bodies.
Christian blinked awake with Megan under him. He rolled over on the couch so she was on top of him again. “Morning, m’lady,” he murmured against her cheek.
"Morning" she replied, snuggling closer to him.
“Did you sleep well?” he asked, remembering how she’d fallen asleep last moonlit hours only minutes before him.
"Yes," she replied, remembering a nightmare but deciding not to tell him.
“Are you sure?” he asked, cupping her cheek and looking into her peepers.
She knew she was a terrible lier but she hoped that luck would be on her side. "I'm sure" she smiled, kissing him quickly on the cheek before hiding her face in her chest.
“M’lady…” he hummed, stroking her hair gently.
"Hm?" she asked, enjoying his hands running gently through her hair.
“I felt you shaking last moonlit hours,” he murmured gently.
"I was…" she thought of an brain bubble and went with it, "Cold" she replied, smiling weakly.
“How could you be cold?” He arched an eyebrow. “It’s summer, m’lady.”
"I don't know, I have a low body temperature" she replied, biting her lip.
“I will keep you warm, m’lady,” he said, his arms pulling her against him.
She hummed softly, pressing her body softly against his for warmth.
“I love you, m’lady, but please tell me the real reason,” he murmured into her ear.
She sighed, "I had a nightmare" she replied, snuggling her face into his chest.
“About what?” His next stoke was slower.
"Death…death and dying" she replied, her voice breaking with every word.
He stopped and took her chin into his fingers. “Why? Are you alright?”
"It's nothing" she muttered, looking into his peepers.
“Tell me the truth,” he said firmly, looking at her with a burning intensity.
"I don't know why it's been happening, but it's been happening…and I'm dealing" she replied, her gaze turning weak under his.
He cupped her face. "M'lady… why wouldn't you tell me?"
"I don't know, I don't want you to run away. I'm supposed to be a perfect ballerina and nightmares about death isn't supposed to come in the package" she replied, laughing a little at her explanation.
"Well, I'm afraid I've fallen for you, m'lady. Not even nightmares about death can hinder my love for you."
A blush spread across her body, making her face a vibrant pink, "You're sure?" she asked, her voice small and squeaky
"M'lady, I'm positive," he assured her, kissing her gently. "Did I ever mention how adorable you look when you blush?"
She smiled weakly and blushed more, kissing his lips softly again. "I love you too" she muttered, looking into his peepers sweetly.
