Hi, so this is a bit of a prompt that i thought of and i wanted to include something like this in a story im working on.
I dont really have rules, im open and accepting of just about everything. The only things i have to say is keep it like PG-13 (anything R rated needs to be taken to the private messages). And usually im open for LGBTQ+ roleplays but for this one i would prefer it to be a straight romance, and i also would like the be the female charater. Also this will be a highschool setting, and the characters need to be either an athletic boy and a cheerleader or two theatre kids (Please and thank you). And finally one of our charaters will be new to the school, to give a valid explaination as to why our characters have never met.
Anyway, heres the prompt:
"He sat in the booth, his little sister across from him. He hadn't noticed her until she laughed. That laugh caught his attention like a dog hearing the treat bag rustle. He looked up from his little sister's messy, icecream covered face for one to see where the sound had come from. His sister when out of focus and just about the prettiest girl he had ever seen came into focus. He knew right then and there he had to know this girl, have her in his life somehow. If he hadn't known any better he'd have thought her laugh made him instantly fall in love."

We can discuss whos character will be the "new kid" and a few other things and then ill put up the character template. If you have any questions just ask! Thats all for now, thank you for coming to my ted talk.

Well, for starters would you prefer to be "athletic" or "theater kid" characters?
And also, do you want your character to be the transfer student or mine?

It’s really up to you for the “new student” role. And, I’d probably say theatre kid.

i guess we can just do our character templates and see which one seems like its a better fit, let me dig out a template.

Name: Kendra Anderson
Age: 17 (almost 18)
Gender: female
Personality: pretty bright and bubbly, gets along with just about everyone but keeps her circle of people small and limited, straight a student (dispite all the time she spends at school for theatre and babysitting all of her little siblings)
~Looks~
Physical Description(hair, height, figure, eye color,etc.): Golden/ honey skin tone, black curls that reach her lower back, blue grey eyes, 5'4", Curvy but not too curvy
Clothing: loose tops; typically a looser crop top, a cardiagan or zip up jacket (if its colder), leggings or ripped jeans, vans, a gold ring with a red jewel in it, gold hoops (firsts) and gold studs with red gems to match her ring, layered gold necklaces of some sort, occasionally a bracelet or two

Family: twin little brothers; Laiden and Matthew(7), older brother; Jaxon(22). Her parents are divorced, father happily married with two kids (Maya age 3 and Maria age 2), her mother happily single. Both parents have a bit of money so the houses are pretty big/ nice (and theres quite a few kids so the house needs to be big). Jaxon lives with their mother, visiting with their father occasionally. Kendra and her younger brothers live with their mother but spend sunday, monday, and every other saturday with their dad, but both parents are flexible and dont always stick to that schedule.

(it seems like a lot but i wasnt sure what all i wanted to put in some of the spots and accidentally when stereotypical in some things, i'll work out all the knots and kinks once we get started)

Personality: Sarcastic and outgoing. He likes showing off and often displays fake cocky overconfidence. He can be calm and collected when needed but is mostly talkative and goofy.

Physical Description(hair, height, figure, eye color,etc.): Ray has bright green eyes that are always sparkling, matching his personality perfectly. He has dark umber hair with slight waves that he keeps pushed out of his face. He’s lithe with a slight muscular frame. Darker/tanner skin. 5’11”
Clothing: Thin-framed round copper glasses when he’s lazy, but normally wears contacts. His wardrobe variety consists of graphic T’s and jeans, with the occasional hoodie. Mainly wears faded black converse.

Family: Ray is very close with his family, especially his little sister, Jamie (he calls her Jaz or Jazzy ; 4). His mother is often away on business trips, so he’s closer with his dad, Jason. They live in a small apartment, but Ray has always loved the forest and country more, so his family tends to go camping often. Their family is not as financially stable, so Ray helps out working with his dad at a local restaurant.

ahh i love the character contrast, its always good to have things that dont line up. Most people go "hey you do that with your character? me too!" and the plot can sometimes be a little flat. Anyway, im not sure which character seems to have more of a "new in town' vibe. thoughts?

Probably your character, if that’s okay with you, of course. For some reason, I feel like Ray would be the one to show Kendra around. He seems like he already knows it all, oddly. If you give me a little information on the school/town/city setting, I’d be happy to take up that role.

sounds good to me. i think i was gonna go for a small town kind of thing. A high school of maybe like 400 students or so, little mom and pop diners (which is what i based the prompt off of) dotted through the town. one moderate sized shopping mall on the edge of town leading towards a city, and smaller cafes and such rather than a bunch of big branded stores. a few apartment buildings, cute little neighbor hoods with 2 or 3 larger/ upper class house neighborhoods, and even a little country side setting towards the outskirts, (which i was thinking her dads house would be out in the country, lotta land for lotta kids typa thing). If theres any other things you would like to add please feel free to give some more ideas to shape the town.

Sounds great! If you have any pointers on a certain hole-in-the-wall restaurant Ray and his dad should work at, just let me know. Do you want to start off, or is there more planning we should do?

If you dont have any more questions i think we're good to go. You can do a restaurant that you'd feel comfortable and would best fit Ray, so feel free to let the creative juices flow on that one.

Alright, then. Probably a bakery actually… I think it suits him :). And yep, all ready!

alrighty, ill get the starter up. i thought we could start before our characters meet and then lead into it.

Kendra brought the last of her boxes in from the moving truck. she took them down to the basement, her "bedroom" in her fathers house. All of her siblings had to stay upstairs since they were all so little, and her father thought it would be better to give her privacy instead of cramming her into a bedroom they could just as easily make their in home office. She put the last of what seemed like hundreds of her boxes in the corner of her entertainment space, to be sorted out later. All of her furniture sat mostly in the middle of the room, only her bed and desk in her bedroom, and her two dresses set against a wall in her closet. she had still packaged, unbuilt IKEA furniture leaned against a wall in the closet.

(for reference, the basement has 4 rooms. The largest being an entertainment space which her father was allowing her to have in hopes that she would spend more time at his house. The second largest being what would be her bedroom once she got it all decorated. Another room being her full sized bathroom shower, tub, and all. The forth and final room she was going to turn into a closet. The bedroom is set between the bathroom and closet, and the entertainment space being as wide as the other three rooms combined.)

Ray took Jaz’s hand as she teetered off, veering her back onto the sidewalk.
“We’re almost home, okay?” he cooed, ruffling her wavy black hair.
“But I’m tired,” she muttered, batting aside her brother’s hand with her own. Her other hand was trailing behind, dragging a small stuffed animal. It only slightly resembled a dog now… It had been Ray’s from before he was born. However, ever since Jaz came along, she’d claimed it and made that about as clear as just sticking a flag on it.
“I can fix that,” Ray said with a smile and swiftly scooped Jaz up in his arms. She giggled, wrapping her arms around his neck. He began humming a soft tune, swaying his steps to his own music. Jaz mumbled along, happy to be in her brother’s warm embrace.
Ray stopped when he spotted a moving truck pulled up beside a house. “New kid, huh?”
Jaz moved her head over to look at the truck. “Big house.”
“Yeah, no kidding. I wonder who it is.”
Instantly, Jaz’s face lit up and she squirmed in Ray’s arms. The boy set her down, raising an eyebrow.
“What if they’re my age???” Jaz wondered aloud excitedly. “What if we can be friends??”
What if they’re my age? Ray asked to himself. Wouldn’t that be something.
Without consent, Jaz began skipping across the street to the truck. Ray shot after her, picking her up and continuing to jog the rest of the way to the opposite sidewalk.
“Hello??” Jaz said aloud, hoping for a response.

Kendra started to push most of her furniture to the side of the room to get it out of her way, and anything that needed to go to the other rooms she'd drag onto them, again shoving it against the wall.

Meanwhile, her brothers and sister Maya ran around inside the now empty moving truck playing something in the field house of tag, while her step mother Paisley held Maria in her arms watching the other three children. When she heard an other boys voice from the front of the truck, she jumped a little, set down Maria to toddle around with the older children. Paisley went around the front of the truck and saw a boy with a little girl in his arms.
"Hello, are you a friend of Kendra's?" She asked, as the boy looked to be about the same age as her step daughter.

“Uhh.. Kendra?” Ray stuttered. “I don’t think I’ve met her yet. We were just walking by, I’m sorry for my little sister—“
“You’re pretty,” Jaz said with a smile. “Is there anyone here my age? I wanna play.”
Ray chuckled nervously, keeping hold of his sister’s hand. “Sorry for her, she sure has a lot of energy. Welcome to the neighborhood, by the way.”

"Thank you!" Paisley said towards both of them. She squatted down to talk to the little girl. "My kids are back behind the truck if you want to go play with them." She stood back upright and talked to the boy. "You don't have to apologize, I get it, I have 4 of them. You aught to meet my step daughter Kendra though, she's about your age I believe."

“Uhm, okay,” Ray said awkwardly as Jaz broke free from his hand and teetered around the truck, giggling. She left the small toy puppy in the boy’s hand and he slipped it in his belt, smiling to himself at how ridiculous it looked. He stood up again, patting his hands on his jeans.
“Where is she?” he asked, his gaze drifting to their front door.

"Probably unpacking in her room. I can take you down there if you'd like." Paisley smiled at the boy.
"I can keep an eye on your… sister?" she guessed, hoping she was right.

Ray smiled sheepishly. “That would be great. And yes, that’s Jaz, my sister. I’m Ray.”
He held out his hand and flashed a genuine smile. “It’s nice to meet you.”
