Ok well apparently we’re on very different schedules so I’ll just start it. And you can reply whenever.

(okay)
Kira stared out of the bus window as it bounced along the road. She let her mind wander, her thoughts barely staying on one topic long enough to identify it. Briefly, she wondered why. What was the point of this endless cycle of waking up early to go to school, only so in the future we could wake up early and go to work? Then she shook the thought away. There’s only one life, one chance to do this right. One opportunity to find out what was right. The bus screeched to a halt near the doors of a nondescript high school, and she slung her bag over her shoulder to join the hustle. All philosophical thoughts were left behind.
Veronica stepped out onto the car rider lane, her mom dropping her off without a word before zooming off to whatever hotel she was escorting at. She slung her bag over her right shoulder before heading down to the cafeteria to grab breakfast. Today was going to be a boring day and she already knew it.
Kira headed to the breakfast line as well after remembering she’d forgotten to eat yet again. Chiding herself silently, she stepped smoothly behind the last person, giving a cheery smile in case they looked back.
Veronica grabbed her tray, as she looked back and saw the person behind her in the line. She smiled back quickly before getting her food.
Kira’s smile faded, leaving a slight grin that wouldn’t go away. She wasn’t sure why. Maybe it was the fact she smiled back, maybe it wasn’t. Kira paid for her food and briefly debated following the girl, then thought better of it and headed to the library.
Veronica wolfed down her food as quickly as she could before rushing to study hall. She was glad that it was at the beginning of the day so that she could finish any homework she needed to do. She headed to the library and chose a seat at the computer, briefly looking around and giving the librarian a wave. After she did so, she saw the girl from the breakfast line and waved to her too.
Surprised, Kira waved back to the girl before returning to her own homework that she neglected to do the night before due to… issues. But it’s ok, she could do it now and be fine.
