(So, Jane and Simcoe then?)
(So, Jane and Simcoe then?)
Yep)
(Mind starting?)
Simcoe was up at a ridiculous hour of the morning, made his own breakfast. He decided to sit right where John sat for every meal.
April swallowed hard, pain contorting her features. “Try for me, Cruz. Come on,”
"Green eyes," he whispered halfheartedly.
April exhaled slowly and closer her eyes in an attempt to stop any tears from leaking out. “Do you want me to bring you anything? Water?”
Jane woke up hearing the sound of noises in the kitchen. She was terrified until she remembered that Captain Simcoe was here. She calmed her breathing down and went into the dining room to see him sitting at John's spot. She stiffened.
"Nothing," Cruz declined, his voice never rising more than a weak murmur. It felt like his confident, swashbuckling, flirty personality had been severed along with his eyesight. What hurt the most, is that April would never know if the man she fell in love with would ever come back.
April nodded slowly, then remembered he couldn’t see her and let out a soft. “Alright…”
Cruz let his spine go, and slumped gently against her shoulder. The most affection he's shown her since the accident.

He gave her a look, and a sickeningly fake smile. "Good morning,"

"That is my husband's spot," she said firmly, trying to smooth her hair.
He looked around, then looked back to her. All his expression said was how stupid and basic he saw her. "Well, your husband doesn't appear to be hear, does he, Jane?"
She frowned. "I would greatly appreciate if you sat elsewhere."
"Mm, no thanks." Simcoe replied simply.
When she spoke next, her voice was tight. "That is my husband's spot. And you. Are not. My husband. So please pick a different chair. Sir."
"No," Simcoe declined once again. He seemed.. Pleased, by her anger.
Cruz let his spine go, and slumped gently against her shoulder. The most affection he's shown her since the accident.
April put her arm around him and tugged him closer, pressing kisses to his hairline.

She gritted her teeth, longing to take action, but she turned on her heel and walked out into the foyer.

Jane returned to her room and got changed into day clothes and brushed out her hair.
Boey watched her from the doorway, tail swishing languidly across the floor.
She knelt in front of him and stroked his ears. "Oh, Boey," she murmured. "I don't know how I'm going to manage…"
"Mrrr." he answered lazily, standing up to rub his face on her leg.
April’s heart swelled with relief. “I love you too…” she murmured, “And always will. I hope you know that.”
