"Ever the hipocrites, rebels." The soldier sighed, "Ever the hipocrites."
Cruz started to rouse back to consciousness, his eyes rolled a little before they registered the knife that was too close for comfort.

Cruz. Louis’s head whipped to the side. Gritting his teeth, he strained against his bonds, but the rope only cut into his skin, too tight to break free of.
Eugh i'll try to keep this as least descriptive as possible because my eyeballs are uncomfortable now )
Fear and confusion was the most potent look in the Spaniard's face. In consequence to Louis silence, the bloodyback redcoat–oh, the slang was so accurate, it was almost laughable now.
Cruz screamed, and they left him half-blind now.
The soldier looked back at Louis. "Having fun?" He asked with a bit of a sadistic nature. Well, in war, you had to do what was necessary to survive. And knowing their opponent's next move.. however unorthodox it was to acquire it, was necessary.
“Cruz!” An anguished cry tore itself free from Louis’s throat, his face breaking open. He whipped his head back around to face the redcoat. “Touch him again and I’ll give you nothing.”
(Cruz I’m crying)
John smiled softly, and retreated back into his office.
(Time skip to the ceremony?)
Sure!)
(Would you mind starting?)
"So you'll speak then?" The soldier smirked. "Sing, canary."
Cruz didn't breathe for a long time. When he did, his breaths were fast and shallow, panicking, abruptly sinking into shock.
John smiled softly, and retreated back into his office.

Not at all! )
John pushed an escaped strand of hair behind his ear. To most men like him, marriage would come easily and not much would change. But to John… this was monumental. Everything was going to change in his life. He'd been living alone for almost a decade. Now he was destined to live with the sounds of a family, whether it be laughter or tears.
What a change..
Louis scrambled for an answer, a way out, but there was nothing. He squeezed his eyes shut, but the image of Cruz, bleeding out, was imprinted att he forefront of his mind. Lifting his chin again, he met his brother’s remaining eye. Buy us time. He had to buy them time, give a false answer. “Which— Which question needs answering?”
"Where is Washington attacking next?" The soldier demanded, brows shadowing over cold eyes. Cruz passed out after a few more seconds.

Murmurs spread from the back of the church. Jane was coming soon!
Behind the doors, she was nervously shaking. "I'm getting married," she whispered. "I'm getting married!"
Slowly, her little cousin, Bradley, began to walk down the aisle with the rings.
(Sorry, idk if I'm doing this right…)
Think, he commanded himself, Where can they go that will put us at an advantage? “[insert false place]” Louis answered in a shaking voice. Now, all they had to do was get word to the General, and the army could ambush the British.
Lmao, it's ok. I've never been married, so I can't tell xD )
John shuffled on his feet, heart lurching with a mixture of anxiety and excitement. He smiled a little— amazing, this was truly amazing.

"What would Washington gain by attacking there?" The soldier interrogated.

Following Bradley was his sister, Molly. She skipped down the aisle, nearly forgetting to the throw the petals. She dumped the rest of the basket on John's feet with a wide grin.
John laughed quietly down at the little flower girl. "You did great," he chuckled, pat her head.
“Washington treats America as a- as a chessboard. We’re taking your rook.” He acted as if he was trying to explain better, but slipped intentionally into rough French.
The soldier's lip twitched with frustration. "Clarify, damnit, War doesn't speak euphemism!"

She smiled proudly. "Do you love Jane?" she asked quietly.
The soldier's lip twitched with frustration. "Clarify, damnit, War doesn't speak euphemism!"
“And I don’t speak good English!” he fired back, face contorted as if in concentration.
"'More than anything, Molly," John replied joyfully.

"Yet you seem to speak just fine to the General?" The soldier retorted, spittle flying at Louis' face.
“I’m tied to a pole after my comrade just lost his eye!” More sarcastic comments followed in broken French about how it wasn’t helping his concentration.
"He'll lose another if you continue to waste our time." The soldier threatened darkly.
“I just betrayed my country. I hardly call that a ‘waste of your time’.” Louis answered coolly, eyes shifting anxiously to Cruz.
