Jane smiled and squeezed his hand.
Jane smiled and squeezed his hand.
He gently kissed her hand, pretending to be very official, but merely crashed into bubbly laughter.
She giggled as well and scooted closer to rest her head on his shoulder.
"When.. When I was little," he began to ramble in a sleepy tone, "I was.. The second oldest son. I had a bigger brother named Edward," he rested his head against her shoulder.
"I'm an only child," she replied, sighing heavily.
He began to pet her head with unsteady strokes. "He and I looked almost identical, spare for he had freckles and a sharper nose.."
"You're prettier," she said, nuzzling his neck with her nose.
John peeped quietly, a happy little grunt. He shut his eyes and began to slur worse as he dozed off. "He.. Was'th, we liked'uhh.." John gradually trailed off into silence.
Jane cuddled against him. "Jooooohn… wake uuuuuuup."
"Mm.." he replied very quietly, otherwise helpless to drowsiness.
Jane hugged his arm. "Jooooohn…"
Nope, he was fast asleep now.
Jane's eyes fluttered closed and sleep consumed her too.
(Time skip?)
Yee
(Okay, who do you want to wake up first?)
~~~
"Jane," a gentle hand rubbed her shoulder to wake her up.
Jane moaned. Who was trying to wake her up now?
When she opened her eyes, John was there, smiling nervously. "Goodmorning.."
Jane sat upright, immediately clutching her head. "Ooooh…"
He blinked. "Ohh, hangover. I made you a tea that should.. Should help," he spoke. "It's noon already,"
Jane smiled softly. "Thank you."
"Jane?" a voice came from the front door.
Jane bit her lip so she wouldn't curse.
"Oh," John scurried to open the door– just being polite.
Jane opened her mouth to say something, but it was too late.
"Who are you?" a well-dressed, older looking man asked sharply.
He dipped his head with acknowledgement, "Johnathan André. I walked Ms. Jane home last night," he spoke.
"Was she drunk?" the man's voice asked.
Jane leaned her head back against the couch.
