Danny rifled through his pocket for cash, pulling out some crumbled nills and some change. "Thanks, man." He nodded, offering him a fist bump but then settling for a polite nod. "Alright, alright, got all our stuff?" Danny asked, hopping out of the car.
Day took a moment to study the place that held so much history to his band. He shook his head in wonderment, then turned back to his bandmates.
"I'm starting to get excited," he said with a smile. "This is going to be awesome."
"Yeah, yeah!" Amy agreed excitedly, fiddling with her hair.
"Let's goooooooooo!" Esperanza said, running to the door and yanking it open.
Danny bounded after Esperanza, grinning and marvelling at the immediate noise and energy radiating off the club. Light glinted off the sea of leather flooding the room, and long hair flew in excited dancing next to the stage.
"Lucky strike." Danny laughed at his bandmates, eyes widening excitedly.
"It's like a dream." Esperanza whispered, looking around in awe. "I swear, it's like we stepped back in time… am I dreaming, or does that guy look like Dee Dee Ramone?"
Danny nodded, "I get it, it's a costume party." He laughed, eyes following the man Ezzy pointed out. It was very uncanny, maybe they're like…cosplayers. Really good cosplayers. Danny's eyes travelled to the music onstage, focusing on the lead singer with light hair, singing passionately at the packed crowd.
Esperanza shrugged. "Look alike, maybe… heh, they got their friend to dress as Johnny… who is also a good look alike… nope, i'll focus on the band." She mumbled, turning her attention to the stage.
Day frowned, wondering why it felt a little off. He couldn't quite put his finger on it, so he let it go, enjoying the music and energy.
"Do you think we should have some in costume?" he muttered, sidling closer to his friends.
Esperanza shrugged. "I mean, I think it looks like we fit in…" She said quietly, looking around more. "They look like the Dead Boys…"
"I don't know… something seems off. If they're cosplaying, then why didn't we know anything about it?" Amy asked, having followed them quietly into the club.
"I dunno." Danny said, still staring at the band onstage as the dancing crowd moved, bumping shoulders over the loud music and dim light. "It didn't say anything on the flier. Maybe they just forgot?"
"We should ask someone," Day suggested. See what they say. We probably just missed something."
Cielle was in the corner of the room lounging on a chair with the rest of her band mates. She was humming one of their more popular songs.
"I'm gonna just awkwardly talk to that girl and see if I can figure out what's up." Esperanza said, walking up to the girl sitting in the corner. Don't slip into Spanish don't slip into Spanish I know it's awkward but don't- "Hola!" FUCK
Danny moved through the bouncing crowd, separating from his bandmates but taking care to not lose them. He was pushed into a near corner of the club where a group of people sat together.
"'Scuse me," He yelled over the music, "Is this the place for the openings? My band is here and we mean to perform."
Cielle looked up at the newbie and let out a small grin. "Hello love. What's cracking?" She asked, flipping her hair back with her hand.
(I dont know any 70s lingo so imma research)
"Oh, um, just looking for a decent chat, y'know?" Esperanza said, a bit awkwardly. I DID NOT THINK THIS THROUGH-
"Am I in the right place?" He smiled, admiring her bright white hair and vintage clothes, "We want to perform." Danny nodded, pointing at the stage.
"Well, you'd have to sign up a week ago. My band is going to play after this one finishes their songs. They have a couple more. You could ask a band to lessen a song and take their place but not many will let you." Cielle stood up and stretched, taking a deep breath. "Havent seen you 'round here before. The names Circe, Circe Rhett. At least that's my stage name." She winked
"E-Esperanza. Or Ezzy." Esperanza said, smiling awkwardly. "Guitar."
"Danny Atlas," He smirked, holding out a hand to shake, "We thought this place closed down ages ago! I saw a flier nearby and we're all ready to perform. It said just to pop by." He smiled, glancing at the supposed bandmates to the white-haired woman.
Cielle shook their hands and frowned. "What are you talking about? This place has been open every day since the day my parents were born dudes. There wasnt any flier sent out either, we dont do that stuff."
"Yeah, you do," Danny said, digging through his pockets for his phone. My Phone… "Holy shit, my phone.." He muttered, searching through every single pocket, turning to Ezzy. "You saw me with it– I had it in the cab. Did I leave it? Shit." Danny groaned, "…Anyway, I took a picture of it. We know it was for here, It had the address and everything. But it didn't say this was a costume party or something. What's up with that?"
"Theres a costume party? Why didnt anyone tell me? I wanted to wear my all black outfit but these guys told me not to." She grumbled, pushing one of them.
Esperanza sheepishly pulled a paper from her skirt pocket. "I got excited and grabbed a flyer I found…" She said, unfolding it carefully.
Only to fine that everything but the name CBGB's no longer printed. "¿Qué carajo es esta mierda del diablo-?"
Luke had been almost napping in his chair despite the hubbub, but now he realized they had company and sat up lazily. "S'goin on, Ci? These kids looking for autographs, or what?" He grinned, but it was a friendly grin.
(( @StarkSpangledBanner Is it okay if Luke calls her Ci, I feel like he would, but I won't if you'd rather lol))
(Totally, her stage name is Circe or Cici so anything goes lol)
"No. Apparently they want to perform." She said, trying not to laugh.
(Also, what's our band name?)
(Ok cool XD)
(Band name? oof, uh….not sure, but I'm good with anything. Maybe something kinda dark but in a laid-back way, I guess?? If it helps, I'm thinking Luke's stage name is Mongrel btw)
"Perform? Good luck. This place is hopping right now." Luke looked the newcomers up and down curiously. "You guys from out of town? You look a little lost."
(I also gtg for a bit, sorry)
"…I guess you could say that, señor." Esperanza said, biting her lip. What the fuck. What the fuck. WHAT THE FUCK
