Once a few hours passed by, Atlas woke up. He was even more tangled up with Emrys than they had been before they fell asleep. It had gotten dark outside, but it wasn't even 11:00 yet. He knew it would be a bad idea to stay in bed much longer though. "Eemmm~?" He groaned dramatically. Of course, he knew Emrys probably wouldn't wake up, but it was worth a shot.
Emrys, as always, remained steadfastly asleep. It wasn't really a surprise, he always fought for every second of sleep he could get once he actually drifted off. He was resting peacefully, head pillowed on Atas' shoulder, arms wrapped around his waist to hold him close.
Atlas giggled, planting a kiss on Emrys' temple. He knew he had to wake up Em, but, as always, he felt bad about it. After a minute or two, he sighed, working up enough courage to wake him up. He was unable to move one of his arms since Emrys was laying on it, but with the other, he shook his boyfriend, not softly at that.
Em leaned into the kiss with a sleepy sigh only to groan and roll away when he started being shaken. Luckily he didn't roll off the bed—though that definitely would've woken him up—he just rolled off Atlas' arms and curled up with his back to his boyfriend, squeezing a pillow close to his chest to replace the body heat he'd lost.
Atlas frowned. He rolled towards Emrys and wrapped his arms around him. "Emm you needa wake up, there's less than an hour 'til the interview." He said into Emrys' ear, too lazy to do much more. This was always the worst part about taking naps before something.
Em didn't even stir, he just curled into Atlas' warmth with a happy sigh, pushing his head into the crook of his boyfriend's neck. Pretty much the only thing that woke him up was loud noise, anything else left him sleeping soundly into the night, the day, or any hour in between.
Atlas would yell or play music loud, anything, but it was late, over half the hotel was probably asleep. He groaned dramatically, honestly not sure what to do. But on the bright side, his hair was dry so he was excited to see it, if Em would ever wake up.
Em shifted a bit and then, grumbling, flipped over again. This time he really did fall off the bed, yelping loudly when he hit the floor and the pain jolted him back into the land of the living. "Ow!" He grabbed the comforter, yanking himself back up. "Fuck, what happened?"
"Well I was trying to wake you up since it's basically a quarter past 11:00 but you wouldn't wake up, of course. So I ended up giving up and laying there when you flipped over and fell off the bed." Atlas explained, giggling while doing so. It was dark so he fumbled out of the bed as well, turning on one of the lights. "How'd my hair turn out?"
Emrys grumbled and stumbled back into bed, squinting at Atlas' hair for a few seconds before he started actually waking up and processing what he was seeing. "It's nice! Very pink, but that's to be expected, and the roots are all covered so I'd say it's a success."
Atlas smiled brightly and went around to Emrys' side of the bed. "Perfect, I'm so glad! Let's get ready to go so we don't miss our ride." He said, picking up Emrys, not that high off the bed or ground, but at least a little bit.
Emrys laughed and tossed his arms around Atlas' neck, letting his boyfriend pick him up. It was nice to be carried. "Yeah, yeah, I get it. You might have to set me down if you want me to get ready, sad as I am to say it."
"Ah I know, I just didn't want you to fall asleep again." Atlas smiled and kissed Emrys' forehead before setting his feet down on the ground so he could stand up. Going back around the bed, he searched in his suitcase for another shirt and his floral belt. The flowers on said belt matched his hair, and he loves when clothing matches.
Em leaned into the kiss with a soft laugh, pushing himself up onto his tiptoes so he could stay in Atlas' arms for as long as possible. He sighed when he was set down but didn't dwell on it for long, pressing a kiss to his boyfriend's cheek and rifling through his suitcase for something nice. He found a nice light blue sweater, cozy and big and fuzzy enough to be comfortable, which he tossed on over a button up and some grey jeans. "Mm, maybe I should get more pink clothes so we can match."
"Ooo that would be fun, you know how much I love matching stuff, whether it be myself or with others." Atlas smile over at Emrys, finishing rifling through his clothes. He found his belt and a short-sleeved pastel multi-colored button-up shirt. He tucked the shirt into the black jeans he was already wearing. "O gotta see my hair!" He said, running over to the mirror to look at it. A bright smile was on his face as he ran his fingers through his hair.
Emrys laughed and reached over to ruffle Atlas' hair, yanking on some converse while Atlas threw the rest of his outfit together. He'd need to buy more pink stuff, most of his wardrobe was blue, grey, or beige. Not much variety. Atlas' clothes were always so colorful and fun, he wished he could start dressing like that. "You're so cute, oh my god! You like the new hair?"
"Oh I love it!! It's perfect! Thank you so much, Em!" Atlas said, fixing his hair so it wasn't so messy. He smoothed it down then turned back to Emrys. He was smiling quite a bit still. Looking around the room, he found his shoes that had been thrown on the floor earlier. "So we just meet in the lobby, yeah?" He asked, pulling on his shoes.
Em pecked him on the cheek and then plopped down on the bed to wait for Atlas to finish getting ready. "Yep, management's got a car waiting for us. The studio's thirty minutes away and we have…" he checked his phone "45, so we should probably start heading down now. Unless you want them to yell at us for being late on top of everything else."
"We should definitely get going. We have to put them in a better mood by not being late for once so that we can crush their good mood a minute later." Atlas giggled and finished putting on his shoes. After grabbing the keycard and his phone, he looked around to see if there was anything else he needed. Deciding he didn't, Atlas grabbed Emrys' hand and they headed out.
Em laughed. true to their suspicious, the second they got to the car their management team was all over them, yelling, criticizing, doing everything they could to suggest ways to downsize the considerable fallout their trip to the aquarium had caused. it only stopped when Cadmus and Harley got into the car, and even then that was only to drag them into the argument too.
Atlas tried to just block them out, taking deep breaths and leaning against Emrys. He kept ahold of Em's hand, squeezing it a little tighter than normal. He absolutely hated being yelled at, usually, that means he made someone unhappy. It was a little different when it came to management since he didn't care about them as much, but in turn it made him feel worse when they really yelled at him.
Emrys was curled in on himself, flinching every few seconds and leaning heavily on Atlas to keep ahold of himself. Out of everyone, he probably hated getting chewed out the most because even though he knew logically that he shouldn't be bothered by what they were saying, it still managed to make him feel self-hating and ashamed of what he'd done.
Atlas gently rubbed Emrys' knuckles with his thumb. He could tell how bothered Em was by it all, and he ended up feeling a sense that it was almost his fault for this. He first confessed to Emrys, he decided not to keep their relationship a secret, at least that's how he felt.
Em had his face half-tucked into Atlas' shoulder, obviously trying to shelter himself from the angry yelling, though he couldn't say it was working too well. Someone was gesturing angrily at them, fire in his eyes. "… and this is exactly what I'm talking about! You can't cuddle like that, it's what leads people into thinking you're gay in the first place! Now…" Voices drifted in and out. he couldn't pay attention to any of them.
Atlas was definitely beyond overwhelmed by the array of angry voices directed at them. Finding a tiny space of silence, he interjected. "And what's so bad about people thinking we're gay anyway!?! It's a natural thing, it's not we can choose. But if we could, I definitely would. Something you can choose, however, is being an asshole or not. I see you all chose to be one."
