Em kissed him back gently, wrapping his arms around Atlas' waist to pull him in close. "Of course, Atlas. I want to take care of you, it's important to me that you're happy."
Em kissed him back gently, wrapping his arms around Atlas' waist to pull him in close. "Of course, Atlas. I want to take care of you, it's important to me that you're happy."
"I just have to say, you're the best boyfriend I could ever hope for. You genuinely care about me and love me and that's a lot more than I could say about some of my other ones." Atlas had his arms tightly around Emrys and he had his head rested on the other man.
Emrys couldn't help but smile, burying the pleased little turn of his lips against Atlas' cheek. He felt all warm inside, like someone had lit a candle in his belly. "I'm glad I can be that kind of person for you, Atlas. You're one of my best friends and even if we weren't dating I would still love and care for you unconditionally."
Atlas smiled and turned his head to give Emrys a soft kiss. "Same here. I'll always care for you and love you even if we break up, I couldn't not do those things."
Em kissed him back with a soft sigh, pulling away to look fondly into Atlas' eyes. "Yeah, I think caring for you is just… part of me now. And even though I love you romantically, you're still my best friend."
"Same here…" Atlas murmured. He let his head rest on Emrys. He suddenly got tired, probably from crying. He closed his eyes and relaxed so he could fall asleep.
Em laughed softly and kissed the top of his head, getting Atlas nice and settled against his chest. "I'm glad, Atlas. I'm going to change into something a little more appropriate for bed, want me to grab you some pjs too?"
"Uh Huh." Atlas lightly opened his eyes so he could let Emrys get pjs. He hadn't mean't for this to happen that day. He wanted to have a fun long day on the town, no tears except for maybe from joy. But as long as all was good between Em and him, he was happy.
Em kissed his temple and slipped out of bed, grabbing the coziest pajamas he could find for him and Atlas. He returned a few seconds later, stripping out of his old clothes as he tossed a pair at his boyfriend. "Get changed, love. You're gonna feel really gross if you sleep in those jeans."
Atlas groaned and sat up and slid off the bed. He quickly changed into the pjs Emrys got for him and fell into the bed again. That coffee he had apparently not done anything for his energy, but he wasn't complaining.
Emrys crawled into bed beside him, pulling the blankets up over Atlas and then settling beside him with a gentle smile. "D'you wanna be big spoon or little spoon tonight?"
"Hmm?" He asked, not hearing what Emrys said, somehow. A moment later, his mind registered what Em asked. "Oh.. um, I don't care, I guess I'm too tired to care…"
Em laughed quietly and kissed the top of his head, deciding to take a little initiative tonight. "C'mere," he murmured , opening his arms so he could pull Atlas up against his chest. "You've had a long day, I think you deserve a little snuggling."
Atlas smiled a little as he complied, lightly wrapping his arms around his boyfriend. "Mm, I love you…" He whispered. As he closed his eyes he tilted his head up and lazily planted a kiss on Emrys' jaw.
Emrys couldn't help but smile, tucking the expression away into Atlas' fluffy hair. "I love you too," he answered softly, sighing happily at the kiss. "Now go to bed, we don't have anything to do until 8 tomorrow."
"Goodnight, love…" Atlas whispered even softer than before. He quickly started falling asleep, very comfortable cuddling with Emrys.
"Night." Em held Atlas close until he too fell asleep, curled protectively around his boyfriend with a soft smile on his face.
~Time Skip~
That morning, Atlas woke up to the sound of rain pattering on the roof and against the window. He hadn't even opened his eyes but he was already smiling. The sound of rain, and rain in general, always put him in a great mood. He did like to stay inside, but just the thought and atmosphere of rain was enough.
Emrys was still sound asleep, though he'd shifted around a bit in the night. His head now rested on Atlas' shoulders, arms wrapped securely around the other's waist, keeping him close even in sleep.
Atlas, finally, didn't even try to wake up Emrys. He then opened his eyes and realized they never closed the curtains, he was glad so he could look outside at the fog and rain. He kept his arms around Em then kissed the top of his head.
Em shuffled a little, arms tightening and then relaxing around Atlas as he murmured sleepy nonsense and settled again. His eyelids didn't so much as flutter at the light shining in from the window, but it was unclear if that was because of his deep sleep or the fact that the faint fog blocked out most of the light so that only sparse rays of sunshine could peek through the haze.
Atlas didn't mind that Emrys was still sleeping, he didn't mind that he could really do anything. He was happy to just be laying with Em. He remembered that just the last hotel was when they got together, which wasn't that long ago. Letting out a sigh he also remembered that the only reason that they were together was because he was tired and the fact that he liked Emrys accidentally slipped.
Em curled up against Atlas' chest a little more in his sleep, a frustrated little divot forming between his eyebrows as he got caught in the throes of some nightmare.
Atlas looked down at Emrys, as he moved slightly. He smiled and moved one of his hands up to softly pet and play with Em's hair. He knew Emrys had nightmares, he just didn't know when and how to tell.
Em relaxed slightly, face smoothing out into a flat expression. He was still breathing a bit too hard, still curled close to Atlas the way he used to curl against Cadmus when the fans were swarming them and he was overwhelmed, but he seemed a little more grounded and a little less distressed.
