"We should honestly do that. Like, after our tour ends, which happens to be around the time Dancing With the Stars starts, we could join and you'd be the choreographer and I'll be the partner who "can't dance". What d'ya think?" Atlas asked, pulling Emrys inside with him. Once the door shut, he immediately wrapped his arms around Emrys and cuddled up to him.
Em laughed and kissed his cheek, plopping down on the bed and pulling Atlas close. "The choreographers are usually professional dancers, Atlas, and I'm far from professional. But… yeah, maybe we can both submit applications and see who gets in? It'sd be really good publicity, so I'm sure management would be on board."
"Weeell, we could have an outside source choreograph our things then we'd get to be partners and have a chance at winning. What about that, love?" Atlas asked, smiling. It may have started out as a joke, but now he actually really wanted it to be able to happen. "OH! And if we win we could tell everyone that we're dating! If we were comfortable with it of course."
Emrys grinned and nodded, nuzzling the crook of Atlas' neck. "I'd honestly love that, but I dunno if we'll win." He rolled over, gathering Atlas up against his chest with a soft smile. "How well do you think you can dance, on a scale from 1 to 10?"
"Okay, what about if we get in the top 3?" Atlas said, slightly muffled against Emrys' chest. He smiled then looked up at Em, smiling. He thought for a moment before answering the question. "Hmm probably a six, maybe seven if I had some training or practice now. You're probably up there at a ten or eleven or something really good."
Em kissed the top of his head, grinning. "I'll be happy to announce our relationship whenever we get out, even if it's on the very first day. But… It'd be really cool if we made it to the top three. D'you really think we've got a fighting chance?"
"Oh yeah, I definitely think so. We have good chemistry and work well together. And I pick things up pretty well, you used to be, like, the best dancer in high school, and we know how to count music and that kinda thing since we're musicians." Atlas rambled, resting his head back on Emrys' chest. He actually really wanted to do this now, not just as a joke. If they could convince the producers of Dancing With the Stars to let them do it together then they should definitely do it.
Emrys nodded. "Then I guess we'll have to talk to management about it right after our tour then, won't we?" His smile was bright and optimistic. "I can't wait to dance with you! It's gonna be a blast, and we're both gonna do amazing, especially after you get some real practice in you."
"I mean, we could talk to them today after the aquarium or something… then if it's ok we could contact the Dancing With the Stars people, since they probably don't want people to apply and stuff right before it starts," Atlas explained his thoughts. His smile mimicked Emrys', very excited. "This is gonna be so much FUN!" He said before lifting his head and planting a soft kiss on Em's lips.
Emrys grinned and kissed him back, squeezing Atlas close. "Yeah, it really is! I think asking after we visit the aquarium's a good idea, we do need to figure out a good dance to do at auditions. And I need to make sure I can teach you everything you need to know before we audition. And I need to make sure they'll even let us compete as a pair."
"We could always start some basics during the tour. You know plenty for that so we wouldn't need to worry about bringing someone else to teach me what you could." Atlas said. He paused and glanced up at the clock, "But speaking of the aquarium… we should get ready for that before we spend all day on this bed. Which sounds really nice honestly, but I wouldn't want to blow off plans with the others."
Em sighed, cuddling closer to Atlas. "Yeah," he agreed, even though he didn't make any move to get up or even do much more than shove his face into the crook of Atlas' neck. "That'd be kinda rude, but… I also really don't wanna get up. You're too comfortable."
Atlas giggled a little, kissing the top of Emrys' head. "We could probably stay here for a little while longer. Cadmus and Harley are probably all over each other either still at the pool or in their room. We'll be fine for a bit." He said, giggling again.
Em grinned and leaned up for a proper kiss, all sweet and soft as his lips moved against Atlas'. "Alright, then come over here and kiss me like you fucking mean it. We're not gonna have time to hang out forever."
Atlas giggled and shifted a little, his and Emrys' faces at the same level. He leaned into Em's face and placed his lips on his boyfriend's, kissing them. Unlike their last kiss, he didn't pull away or stop. His arms tightened around Emrys, one hand finding it's way to Em's hair and tangling its self in his hair.
Emrys smiled brightly into the kiss, tilting his head for a better angle as they shifted together. He ended up pulling Atlas into his lap, hands wrapped loosely around his waist to hold him close. His grip tightened as Atlas got a hand in his hair, moaning softly into the kiss.
Atlas' eyes fluttered shut as he continued kissing Emrys, a tiny smile on his lips. He pressed himself completely against Emrys. He felt so lucky to have the boyfriend he did. In his eyes, Em was perfect, no matter what anyone else said. He was honestly really excited to reveal their relationship, but it was probably against management or something.
Emrys's mind normally went a mile a minute but right now his brain was stuck in the moment, taking in every sliver of what was happening. There was Atlas, obviously, pressed up against him, the feeling of wet skin on wet skin and soft lips on chapped ones, but there was also the soft humming of the heater, the vague scratch of towels on his arms, the smell of chlorine mixed in with the smell of sheets. He felt like he was buzzing, a livewire sparking up beneath Atlas' gentle kiss. "I love you," he mumbled. "A lot."
Atlas smiled softly, resting his forehead on Emrys' and opening his eyes. "I love you so much, Em. I didn't think I could ever love something or someone this much, but here I am." He whispered back. Just the thought of being able to be with Emrys and pursue his dreams was the best thing that he could think of. Yes, he didn't like management, but he got to sing for people who loved the band's music and he has a boyfriend in that band that was absolutely amazing. Nothing could compare.
Em had never even imagined he'd be here. Sometimes he woke up and it still didn't feel real, not when he'd been obsessing over Public Outcast just a few years before. Waking up with Atlas in his arms was a dream, one he hoped he'd never wake up from. "I never thought anyone would love me the way you do." He kissed Atlas, just a soft peck on the lips. "But here we are. Together. In love. It's like a miracle."
"It sure is a miracle. But how could someone not love you like I do? You're one of the best things that have happened in my life and I don't know if I could function without you. I'm not quite sure how I scored the perfect boyfriend." Atlas murmured. He was being serious. He functioned just fine before Em joined the band, he usually functioned okay when he wasn't around and they weren't dating. But the closer they got and once they became a thing, the only thing he knew he wanted for the future was to be with Emrys.
Em laughed and kissed Atlas before he could hear the bitterness in it, pulling him in closer. "Oh, you'd be surprised. I was kind of shitty before I met you, I wasn't really what you'd consider a catch." He pecked Atlas on the tip of his nose. "I'm still not, honestly, but I'm working to be better 'cause you deserve it."
"Well, I say you are a catch, and you're good enough for 2 or 3 billion people. So I don't think you need to change a thing, unless you really want to and I'll support you with it." Atlas said as he rested his head on Emrys' shoulder. "We all have our moments, some definitely better than others, but that's just a part that makes you you."
Emrys rolled his eyes, pressing a kiss to the top of Atlas' head. "They're all coming to our concerts for you, Atlas. Have you seen what people write about me online? It's… it's not great. I'm sure I've got plenty of moments, but… I don't want to be stuck being who I always was, y'know? I want to improve. I want to be better."
Atlas nodded. He pulled Emrys to his chest and smiled a little. "They aren't coming just for me. Literally, without you and the others, I would just be some random dude standing on a stage, alone, and probably without much of an audience. But I definitely understand what you mean. And there's a reason I don't have social media and I don't look at comments and stuff. You don't actually have to read any of the things people say, unless it's the good stuff. I don't want you to feel bad about yourself at all just because some douche decided it would be fun to be rude to someone." He explained. He lifted Em's head, cupping his cheeks in his hands. "I love you and I don't want anything but good to come to you."
