Blind Date
The gentle din of the piano sounded throughout the restaurant. The Gilded Rose was fairly busy with families and couples getting something to eat. A man in a dark suit sat alone at a table, nursing strong liquors. He cast his glass green eyes about the room, as if he were searching for something. He groans in annoyance, finishing off his vodka.
Evan walked in, straightening his grey suit and blue tie, looking obviously angry and flustered as he slid into the booth in front of his date. "Sorry for being late. My sister wanted to make sure I looked perfect." He then took out a make up mirror, and made sure his clear lipshine was perfect. He wore light blue eyeshadow, some mascara, and light pink blush as well. A very simple everyday look for sure. He sighed, and then looked at you. "Oh…uhm. Hi. I'm Evan." His sister had set the two up. She was known to dabble in Satanism with her sister Clara so he never knew what she was bringing him into.
William quickly looks Evan up and down, examining the blond's slender build.
"William," he responds. He didn't understand why the blonde and dark haired women wanted him here. "You're not who I was expecting."
"You mean I'm on the wrong blind date or, did you expect a different look with the same name?" He sassed with a smile.
"Well, seems someone has a mouth on them," Willam says with a raised eyebrow and smirk. A deal's a deal though, so here I am.
"You grow up second eldest of 15 you learn how to have a mouth on you." He shrugs as he observes the menu. "Ooh ribs…if only I didn't have to wear this suit tomorrow." He sighs as the waitress come over. Her orders a cold raspberry iced tea.
"Medium rare beef bourguignon for me."
"And would you like a refill, sir?"
"I'll have a glass of bourbon this time. Thanks gorgeous," William says, grinning and winking at her. She blushes while writing the order and walks away.
"So Evan, you wear makeup often?"
"Hey your on a date with me." He says, glaring at you. Jealous as well. "Yeah. I enjoy it." He says with a nod, pushing up his navy blue glasses. "I'm a little…flamboyant one could say." He chuckled a bit,and checked his phone. "Oh it's Evelyn…" He sighed and shut off his phone, and put it on the end of the table. All of his attention was on you.
"It was just a question," William scoffs. "Nothing wrong with doing something that you enjoy." This… worm might be a little interesting.
"I'm not offended. If I came off as such I'm more angry with you hitting on other people with me around then pointing out my makeup." He says casually.
"I was merely being polite; it's a sure fire way to ensure that they don't do something… funny with your order. As for the makeup, it actually looks nice. Makes those blue eyes of yours pop."
Part of that deal was to be nice….
"Flirting and being polite are two different things. And thank you." He said, looking you over. "So. Demon huh? Don't worry. Not the first time my sister has done something like this."
William sat silent for a while, staring at Evan. "So, you know about this," he says, his eyes flicking to black.
"Indeed I do. I like the green eyes better. A little sexier." He said with a smirk. "A little more enchanting. Adds some mystery to you ya know? What I think is interesting is your eyes glow, not sparkle. The light here makes your eyes all around bright not just a reflection." He smiles.
William's eyes go back to their more 'human' appearance. "Beats the cliché thing then," William smiles, revealing pristine teeth and dimples. "You said that you have fourteen siblings. That's a lot of competition; my siblings and I tend to compete with everything!"
"Oh most definitely. But I get along with most of them, save for a few. My twin sister included. We're attached at the hip but lock horns like bulls. Love her to death but the shit she pulls me into? Man." He shakes his head.
"I've wanted to slit Abaddon's throat on multiple occasions," William says nonchalantly after their food is delivered.
Evan sipped his drink. Heordered chicken dumpling soup, and happily took a bite. "Glad we came here. My uncle used to own this place. Don't know if he still does."
"Mmhm. This beef bourguignon is simply exquisite!" William says, slicing a piece off and offering it to Evan. If there was one thing that he could use to bond with a human, it was food.
He smiled and took the bite. "Hm. I know where this recipe came from. Right from my mom's kitchen. Though they added a little more spice to it. I prefer it with a smooth flavor." He smiled. "But I like it. It's good." He nodded.
"Either way, it beats what I'd get at home. Which would be nothing since my kind doesn't need to eat and drink to survive," William laughs. "I was told to ask about you. Your interests, likes, dislikes, etc."
"We'll start with likes and keep going from there. And I obviously like make up. I've been called twink ans fem boy before since sometimes I'll wear dresses or skirts. Sadly it's to cold out for that. I also enjoy poetry, and just writing in general, along with playing the piano. But my true love? The dramatic stage. Especially musicals. Oh and handsome men, such as yourself."
"Well, I am the most attractive guy in the room…. Your lucky day!"
"Dunno…" He looks around, then his eyes fall back to you. "Ya know you sure act oh so different then most demons. I like it. A lot cheerier. So then. What do you like other than torturing the sinners and all that."
"Drinking," William says after downing his bourbon. "Obviously. Reading is something else that I enjoy doing. I'd gladly keep Stephen King alive if given the choice of killing him."
