A city, forged on the sacrifices made oh-so-long-ago. Made from their blood, and yet, never remembered. History was written by the winners, was it not? It would seem that way.

No one knows - well, someone does know of course, but not you, nor anyone you know - what happened. To make the world like this.

What is like this, you may ask? Well, have a look. It’s the city you’ve always lived in. A city of pollution, with air so thick with smog that even a citizen going out for a run to the store requires a facial mask of some sort. A city with strict rules to follow. A city with people - rather, no longer humans walking the streets, armed with weapons you could only dream of having.

The rules my friend, are strict, and they speak of them only existing to protect you.

  1. All citizens shall not exit their apartments after 8 PM, and shall not leave until 9 AM the following morning.
  2. All citizens will have a job.
  3. No citizen will possess a weapon.
  4. All citizens will follow the orders of the Enforcement.
  5. No conspiracies against the Government shall be made.

Who are the Enforcers, you may also ask? If you remember those people I mentioned before - the ones who walk the streets, ghosts of their former selves. They were once human, but no longer will they be. Stripped of their thoughts and will, they only work for the City now. No Enforcer returns to their normal life after that.

And you would think, well, what do the citizens do against this?

Nothing. At least, not on the surface, anyway. To stand up to them, to speak out of line, would be equivalent to suicide. They’d show up at your doors later, take you away, and you’d never see the light of day again. Or, they’d do the same, but to your loved ones.

In the shadows, a rebellion brews against them. The Enforcers and Government are fully aware of the rebellion. But not their members, nor their plans. Eventually, the rebellion hopes for a free world, to topple the giants that rule the city. Where they may speak freely. Liberty.
But none of that is easy to achieve, with the Enforcers committing raids against suspected rebellion bases. The sewers, apartments, abandoned buildings, where’ve they may be, the Enforcers are always hunting.

The Enforcers, back to them. People without identity. Only identified by their uniforms and masks of which they wear. Faces, do they have them? Maybe not. Enforcers are almost like robots. They’re seen as expendable. To prioritize the mission. No Enforcer has ever returned from the status of being ‘Processed’, the term used to define the state at which you go from being just a normal human to one of the pawns of the government.
Their past removed from them, Enforcers are not a who. They are a what.
But what if an Enforcer was..different? Maybe there was a different Enforcer, but they never got their word out, because they were terminated too quickly. What if an Enforcer remembered?

But no, that would be silly. There’s just no way that could happen. Is there?

@Misfit here’s the post; if you have any questions feel free to ask.

The city is not known for towering buildings, instead many buildings look old, made of brick. The city is patrolled by the deadly Enforcers and watched by cameras at almost every corner, which the exception being the sewers and some older buildings. Enforcers only go down there if suspicious activity is reported.

The city is sealed off, no one may leave, but people may enter. Surrounding the city are the impenetrable shields - the walls, towering walls. Outside the city at night citizens often go to sleep to the thunderous roars and shots - arguably, the city inside is safer, due to the fact that deadly beasts roam the world outside.

Whoever you may become, as a rebel - are you more aggressive in your approach, or are you calmer, or neither? - you eventually come into contact with Enforcers, either way. But what if one was different?

@Moriarty

(Epic! I'll get my character up ASAP. If we do family members, is a template required for them, too, or merely the code?)

@Moriarty

(Okay, awesome. Thank you. ^-^ I'm just trying to pick a job now. I'm not sure the level of readily available technology, but I was considering a mechanic or possible an engineer of sorts. Are those realistic jobs? If not, I can easily go with something simpler, like perhaps a baker. I love the plot, so I want to make sure everything logically fits within it.)

@Mojack group

((Mechanic, engineer are all fine - Vehicles typically look a bit older in design and such. All of those are realistic jobs!))

@Moriarty

((Okay, awesome! Thank you. I've been a bit offline due to my birthday and Easter, and it's 1:33 AM now, so I'll try to post my charrie later after I go to bed and wake up at a more acceptable hour.))

@Moriarty

Name: Augustus "Gus" Gatlin
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Code: 4718
Employment: Mechanic

Appearance: 5'11 | Stocky, well-toned build | Fair skin | Calloused hands, often stained with oil from working on old trucks and cars | Messy black hair | Short stubble lining his prominent jawline | Sharp, angular facial features | Large eyes; blue-gray in color | A blotchy birthmark on his neck, extending onto his right shoulder | He has a slight limp due to a nearly unnoticeable birth defect in his right knee; it is more visible when he runs or tries to move quickly |
Style: Comfortable clothing, often of more dark colors | His style is rather plain, often consisting of cheap clothes | Sleeveless shirt, often covered by a hooded jacket on cooler days | Dark jeans | Work boots | Fingerless gloves | Sometimes wears glasses but is okay without them |
Personality: Quiet and reserved at first, but by no means shy | He's not easily worked up, but when he gets mad he tends to get very mad and often takes a bit to cool back down | He is protective of the people closest to him | Very loyal and determined | He's not spontaneous at all | Has a dry sense of humor | He likes dogs and collecting random trinkets |
Backstory: His mother died when he was a kid, and he was raised by his father, who was a skilled mechanic in the city. His father was also very obedient to the system and raised Gus to be likewise, though Gus is secretly very skeptic of his authorities and wishes that he didn't have to keep his thoughts silent.
Family: His parents are both dead, but he has a younger brother named Charlie. Code 4981.
Hobbies/skills: Mechanic work; he also likes to sketch, though he doesn't consider himself very good and he feels like it's a pointless hobby. He enjoys baking, too.
Other: I was in a hurry, so it's a bit sloppy. Apologies!

@Mojack group

Name: Endo Kym Operative 8567
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Code: 8567
Employment: Enforcer

Appearance: No one knows the true face behind an Enforcer’s mask, and 8567 is no exception to that rule. Whether it’s for identity or intimidation, or a completely different reason, his face is completely obscured from view, as well as the rest of his body. All previous records - known ones, at least - of his appearance have been destroyed. What you CAN get from looking at 8567 however, is that he’s around 5’11 in height. Not short, but not tall, either. Just a decent height. Average build, with perhaps more muscle than the average civilian. Very pale skin, if it is ever shown (typically, when wounded.)
Style: A uniform of the Enforcers, which is coloured dark shades, like a dark grey rather. The material is hard to determine (and replicate) but is almost like a very durable material, yet feels kind of like the cotton/wool used to make clothing. Although it feels much rougher. Covers him from head to toe, albeit with certain exceptions. Wears heavy (at least, to the average person) black boots and gloves. Has holsters for smaller weapons, such as a handgun and taser. Hood, though rarely used, on jacket. Finally, the mask/helmet, which obscures all features of an Enforcer’s face to the general population. Looks almost like a gas mask, with some add-ons to it.
Personality: 8567, at the base personality, is pretty similar to all Enforcers. Follows orders. That sort of stuff. At the most, he may seem boring..which is understandable. But 8567 is different from Enforcers for the fact that he questions things. Only as of recently, but not enough to warrant ‘termination.’
Whenever the time comes that 8567 is unveiled, he shows himself as not quite forgetting his Enforcer history as well as the training that came with it, but being a caring individual towards others. Develops more in RP most likely.
Backstory: Most of his history has been wiped, with 8567 just not remembering it at all (for it too was wiped from mind). Like all Enforcers, he was presumably a civilian at one point, a human, then signed up to become an Enforcer, went through ‘processing’ and became what he is now.
Family: Does not remember family, but some of them still are alive. His mother (6734) Rena and father (6754) Kimo are both deceased from sickness, though his sister (8753) Susi is still alive.
Hobbies/skills: As he is an Enforcer, he has all of their trained skills (shooting, close quarters combat, running, etc) but ranges slightly above average in shooting. He also has some additional skills, like an ability to understand and operate machinery as well as fix it. Aside from hobbies..not much, you’re not getting out there and doing much ‘normal stuff’ as an Enforcer, but he shows interest in trying new things, albeit things he cannot try just yet. And of course collecting stuff.
Other: N/A right now.

Looks good! So, did you have any questions before we start, or..?

@Moriarty

Excellent! He's epic.
I don't have any questions that I can think of, and if any occur to me during the RP I'll just put them in parentheses :3

@Mojack group

((Sorry for late response, I’m on a small break right now and I will be for the next few days so apologies if things are slow!))

Rain dripped onto the ground, a difference from minutes before. Previously, the rain had been going fast - evident by the puddles, seen on the ground. But now, the rain was slowing down, and soon, it would stop.

8567 patrolled the streets not far from his fellow Enforcers. It wasn’t a hard job at this hour. Typically, it was either the very early hours or later hours in which things typically got more heated.
You would see some people on this side of the city, sometimes. Most of them steered clear of larger groups of Enforcers, but for ones like 8567, who patrolled alone at the moment, they just kept their distance. 8567 was looking around, at the same time paying close attention to where he was walking. He was to report anything that seemed suspicious..and if he did, other Enforcers would soon arrive to enter the fray.
Not many thoughts entered 8567’s mind, after all. He was an Enforcer, and Enforcers only followed orders. That’s it. Nothing else, nothing more.

There wasn’t too much around him as he ventured further into the streets, aside from the apartments which surrounded him. The Enforcer decided to stop for a moment and run a survey on the following area, see what or who was around him that he was unable to see at the moment. Not that he would do anything, per say, just get a look at his unseen surroundings, that’s all.

@Moriarty

((it's okay! I've been MEGA BUSY myself. I understand 1000000%))

Gus was on his way back to the mechanic garage; his break had just ended, though it hadn't consisted of much in the first place. He had taken a brisk walk in the meantime, in hopes of getting his mind off of things, but he was careful to avoid authorities. He wasn't up to anything, per se, but he was fearful of seeming suspicious and attracting unwanted attention to himself.
He caught sight of an Enforcer up ahead, and though he refused to slow or change his pace (for that would only add to unnecessary suspicion), he did make a mental note to keep a good distance between himself and them. He would simply go around, take the slightly-longer route back to the garage. He had time, and it wasn't like there were enough vehicles breaking down everyday to make his job a rushed or strained one. There likely wouldn't even be any customers at all when he returned, though he still didn't want to risk running late.
He turned off, heading down a different street, past the old brick buildings, hoping to reach his shop without any interference.
