'Cause a princess doesn't cry
A princess doesn't cry
Over monsters in the night
Don't waste our precious time
On boys with pretty eyes
A princess doesn't cry
A princess doesn't cry
Burning like a fire
You feel it all inside
But wipe your teary eyes
Queen Kalani is the last of her kingdom. It was wiped out when she was a teenager, her being the only survivor.
She got forced into a marriage with the king of another kingdom, no longer able to rule her own kingdom.
She hates it. She has no family and is now being forced into producing an heir for her husband.
Then she falls in love with her husband's head knight commander.
I will be Kalani if it's not too obvious.

Name: Kalani Camryn
Full Title: Queen Kalani Saint Camryn from the Kingdom of Zentis
Age: 21
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Pansexual, however does lean towards those who identify as male
Appearance: Kalani is a girl with dark, unblemished skin. Her hair reaches her waist and is tied in tight small braids, the only heritage left of Solan. It's colouring is natural yet the colours are unnatural, being a mix of white and pure red. Her eyes are piercing and dual-coloured, her right being a ruby red and the left white with a thin blue outer ring.
Daily Style: Kalani has never been one for formalness, always opting for simpler dresses and flats. She always wears Solan's recovered crown, a symbol that she will not be tied down by Zentis.
Formal Style: At formal events, Kalani is forced to wear more formal dresses. She protests by refusing to wear any crown or jewelry they try and get her to wear, only wearing the crown of Solan.
Personality: Kalani is typically seen as quiet and keeping to herself, though this is not the case. In fact, it is quite the contrary. Kalani is very confident and defiant, knowing what she wants. She is a fierce and natural-born leader, wanting to truly rule her own kingdom. She is also very soft and caring when needed, having a soft spot for small children.
Likes: Your character, small children, her powers
Dislikes: Her husband, being in Zentis, Solan being destroyed, having no family
Background: Kalani was the eldest of three. She loved her family and loved being part of Solan. She considered the whole of Solan her family, and was excited to lead them as Queen when she came of age. When she was 17, the kingdom was attacked. Nothing could be done, as the entire kingdom was destroyed. Not one living being survived.
No one except Kalani. She vaguely remembers defending herself and then then encasing herself in a thick wall of ice as the castle fell around her. She exited the rubble hours later to find everything gone. Bodies laid everywhere. She was horrified. She ran through the rubbled castle to try and find her family, stumbling upon then lying dead. Her mother was the only one alive, clinging to life but not going to survive. In tears, she told Kalani how much she was loved before giving the girl her crown.
Kalani was found by Zentis' men with the crown on her head. It was the first time she accepted that she was a Queen of a dead kingdom. As soon as she hit 18 she was forced into the marriage of Zentis' king, who was 26. She despises him, refusing to bear him a child or even engage in the act of it.
Powers: Kalani was born with both pyrokinesis and cryokinesis, two abilities that are constantly at war inside her. They are the reason she survived the attack on Solan.
Other:
Name: Phillip Golding
Full Title: Commander General Phillip Golding
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Straight
Appearance: Phillip has fair skin and a thin neck and face, though he has a nice, squared-off jawline. He has hazel eyes and an average-sized nose. He has white-blond hair that slightly darkish at the roots (think Jack Frost). His hair is always neat and pushed back away from his face. He is tall and strong.
Daily Style: Wears black or grey breeches, a white or grey tunic with a leather jerkin over it, with his military jacket over that. He also wears black boots and a belt around his waist.
Formal Style: Nicer, usually embroidered breeches with a tunic the same color. Embroidered waistcoat and overcoat, baldric, and a ceremonial sword at his side.
Personality: Phillip is determined, focused, and takes his job very seriously. Though he does not always agree with every decision the king makes, he would never publicly speak out against his king. He is very compassionate and empathetic. He has worked hard to get to his position and tries hard to use it for the good of the kingdom and its people. He likes to surprise people. He is not very sentimental. He can work too hard and be very self-destructive if he isn't careful. Very accountable.
Likes: Parties, routine, helping people.
Dislikes: Being dirty, mean people, injustice.
Background: He has a twin brother (fraternal, not identical). His family has status, but not a ton, so he had to work really hard to get to the position he is in now. Luckily, the King took a liking to him and he was able to rise quickly in the ranks.
Powers: N/A

(yeah, he's fine. let me get a starter up)
Kalani stood in the gardens of the Zentis castle, a bow in her hand and a quiver full of arrows on her back. Solan had been known for archery, and its Queen was no exception. Her crown perched on her head, supported by her bun.
Phillip dismounted his horse and handed the reins to a nearby stable boy. He had just gotten back from an inspection of all the guard stations around the palace. He went to the King's office where he found him standing at the window, glaring at something outside. "I'm here to report my findings, Your Grace."
"Good, yes. Come in Commander." Phillip walked in, cautiously. The King seemed to be in a mood, and he could be incredibly unpredictable when that happened. "She needs to be stopped," he muttered.
"What was that, Your Grace?"
"My wife. Who allowed her to have a weapon?"
"I'm not sure Sir."
"Well go down and stop her. It's not proper for a woman to use a weapon, especially my queen."
Phillip looked down where the Queen stood. She looked so determined, so focused. The only other time she looked that way was when she was arguing with the King. He couldn't be the one to take that away from her. "Sir, I'm sure there's no harm in it. Maybe all she needs is some supervision."
The King stood there, glowering, thinking it over. Phillip held his breath. "Very well." Phillip breathed a small sigh of relief. "But you must be the one to do it, Commander. You're the only one I trust for this. Now go."
Phillip bowed. "Of course Sir."
Phillip went down to the garden where Kalani stood. He cleared his throat. "Pardon me, Your Highness."
Kalani fired many arrows at once, all hitting bulls-eyes. The ones tipped with fire had their flames spread across the hay, the ones tipped in ice had their frost spread across the hay.
She turned quickly at Phillip's voice, her fiery expression softening slightly. The fire in her eyes still remained.
"What do you want, Phillip? Is it James? If he wants me to stop, tell him he can stick it up his arse."
Phillip blinked. He always forgot how crass Kalani could be. "Actually," he said slowly. "He said you were allowed . . . as long as I am here to supervise you." He knew Kalani would most likely find this less-than-ideal, and held his breath, waiting for the firey reaction.
"Really?" Kalani asked, hand on hip. She didn't believe Phillip, and a glance up at where James was looking through the window confirmed her decision. A snowball appeared in her hand and she tossed it at the window. It hit square on, and frost spread across all of the glass. James was unable to look down at her, which was her plan.
She looked back down at Phillip. "Look. I only have two things left of my kingdom. Archery and my crown. I don't care if James doesn't want me to do archery or wear this crown. I am the Queen of Solan before I am the Queen of Zentis, and that will not change."
