“At least I’m not allergic to daisies,” Arvil teased, nudging her playfully. “I could try to find someone, yeah. I already know a few who could help. When do you want the wedding to be? What’s the month?”
“At least I’m not allergic to daisies,” Arvil teased, nudging her playfully. “I could try to find someone, yeah. I already know a few who could help. When do you want the wedding to be? What’s the month?”
Daisy snorted and rolled her eyes, laughing sarcastically. “You’re hilarious, Avril. As if I haven’t heard something like that before,” she muttered, shaking her head. “What about January? Late January or early February, maybe?”
“Aw, that line’s been used already?” Arvil pouted, covering the rest of his burrito. He’d finish that later. “Early February sounds perfect. The first week?”
“Guys who try to win me over comparing me to the flower that bears my name? Yeah, it’s been used over and over,” Daisy said, shrugging. “The first week is probably the best, isn’t it? Since the next would be close to Valentine’s Day.”
Arvil rolled his eyes, shifting a little and leaning down until his head was in Daisy’s lap. He looked up at her, his grin resembling that of a mischievous puppy. “Ah, you’re comfortable,” he teased. “So relaxing, Daisy~”
Daisy poked him in the cheek. “Get up, weirdo. You have food to finish and so do it,” she sighed, taking another bite for emphasis.
“I’ll finish mine later,” Arvil grabbed her finger. “You’re so comfortable, Daisy, and I’m tired. Are you really going to make me get up?”
“Yes,” Daisy declared, flashing him a quick smirk. “Do you truly have a problem with that?”
Arvil lifted his legs up to rest them onbthe arm of the couch. “Yes,” Arvil nodded. “I’m tired and my fiancée won’t let me sleep on her. That’s so sad.”
Daisy snorted and rolled her eyes, pushing against his face. “I’m going to drop food in your eyes and on your face if you stay there,” she protested.
Arvil laughed, finally pulling himself up into a sitting position. “Whatever, Daisy. Have it your way.”
Daisy smiled and took another bite of her food, pulling her legs up under her. “Anything else— Venues. We need a venue.”
Arvil rubbed the back of his neck. “There’s a Swan Club that’s pretty popular for weddings,” he said. “But I doubt that’ll be appropriate for a winter wedding.”
“A Swan Club? Interesting,” Daisy mused before taking another bite. “We could search for venues, too. On our own time. Or we could meet up somewhere else later and look together.”
“I prefer to look together,” Arvil answered, resting one leg over the other. “That would be a lot faster.”
Daisy nodded with a hum around her food. She swallowed and looked over at him again. “Sure. Where should we meet? And when?”
Arvil hummed, thinking to himself. “I’ll be relatively free on Wednesday—two days from now, so we can look on that day. Unless, of course, you’re busy.”
Daisy glanced away, going through her schedule in her head. “Could we meet for dinner? We could go out or meet at one of our places?”
“Dinner sounds good,” Arvil nodded. “We could go out.”
“Wonderful. Any ideas where we should meet?” Daisy asked, raising her eyebrows in question as she took another bite.
“Hm… that depends on what sort of dinner you like, love,” Arvil looked out the window from his office, “Something light, or fast food?”
Daisy shrugged as she finished her food. “Honestly, I’m okay with whatever. Surprise me. Send me the location later or come pick me up. Your choice this time.”
“All right,” Arvil chuckled. “I’ll try my hardest to surprise you, love. I’ll be picking you up, then.”
“Sounds good,” Daisy agreed with a small smile. “Now… Should we go have a rematch on whatever games you have upstairs? Or more archery?” If she was being honest with herself, she really just wanted to feel his arms around her again…
“Good thing you said that on time,” Arvil chuckled, cracking his knuckles. “The gaming room would have been unavailable next week. Anyway, we could always work on your archery skills. Or would you rather lose to me again on a game?”
