So I know what I want to do and like I said, I've been trying to actually do it for a while, so I'm pumped for this! Fair warning, though, I have to get a root canal done on Tuesday so I probably won't be online then. I might be for a while later on, but don't plan on it I guess.

Anyway! The premise of this RP is that it takes place about four years after the events of the HeartGold/SoulSilver(Not that there are really any significant changes to my knowledge, I'm just biased) games in Johto. Silver(the rival character from those games) is the current Champion after beating Crystal, who beat Gold. However, Gold and Crystal both set out to pursue different paths–battling Gyms in different regions and researching rare Pokemon respectively–and haven't been heard from in one and a half years. Search parties were sent out, but returned empty handed, and the case is looking pretty hopeless, but some people are continuing to search. Our characters will be setting out on a Pokemon training journey through the Johto region. Could they play a part in solving this mystery? Well, obviously, or I wouldn't have brought it up lol

So, are you still interested? I'm trying to be vague on details that our characters won't need to know so that if you want to go into this mostly blind then you can, but I've planned a lot about the evil team. They're very obscure and nobody would know who they are, but if you'd rather know more about them then I'd be perfectly willing to explain them and their motivations to you! :)

Also! Would you like a template, or would you rather describe your character(s? You can have more than one) without one or with your own?

I might actually prefer to describe my character as we go.
Uh, one question though, I have build my own team right? (‘Cause I do have a preference XD)

And yes, the only things I ask are that you don't start out with any Pokemon(at least any that can battle, something like an egg would be perfectly fine) and your character's starter Pokemon is one of the Gen 2 starters. Other than that, just general common sense like no legendaries. I'll put up a form for my character and then I'll start us off!

Name: Cori Snow
Age: 15
Gender: F
Sexuality: Lesbian
Hometown: Mahogany Town
Personality: Cori is boisterous and can often come off as a little rude, as she can be quick to say things without really judging the consequences. She's very compassionate and hates to see people in bad situations, and feels terrible when she can't do anything to help. Though definitely a dreamer, Cori can be surprisingly logical in certain scenarios. She's a bit naive and gullible, though.
Appearance: Cori's wild, very light hair is cut just above her shoulders and has lavender and light blue streaks running through it. She has steel-grey eyes, fair skin, and stands at about 5"5.
Outfit: Cori wears a lavender cropped tank top underneath a light blue hoodie, light denim shorts, lavender leggings, brown boots, and always carries around a pale yellow backpack. The back of her hoodie, usually covered by said backpack, has a red-and-white circle with the words "Future Gym Leader" over top of it.
Starter Pokemon: Cyndaquil
Eventual Team: Typhlosion, Altaria, Stoutland, Weavile, Breloom, Gallade
Goals: Become a Gym Leader and meet a lot of new people
Other: Cori's older brother, Tyson, is the current Mahogany Gym Leader after Pryce passed away.

Name: Adam Thatcher
Age: 14
Gender: M
Sexuality: Bisexual
Hometown: Goldenrod City
Personality: Adam is pretty impulsive, often running into things without thinking. He always means well, though, and is extremely lucky most of the time. He's actually very booksmart, but that doesn't say anything about his common sense. He's very persistent and stubborn, and though these traits are helpful at times, they can get him into trouble from time to time.
Appearance: Adam has short brown hair, green eyes, freckles, relatively tanned skin, and stands at around 5"7.
Outfit: Adam wears a red baseball hat backwards, black-framed prescription glasses, an orange tee-shirt, denim overalls, and black boots. He also wears a red bandanna. His bag is a worn leather messenger bag.
Starter Pokemon: We'll see
Eventual Team: (final starter evo), Lucario, Vaporeon, Emolga, Noctowl, Kricketune
Goals: Adam wants to prove to his family and to himself that he's capable of handling himself on his own. Eventually, he discovers that he enjoys doing Contests.
Other: Adam grew up in a not-so-supportive family who wanted him, as the eldest son, to inherit the family business–an automobile repair shop. But he never really liked that and was much more interested in Pokemon. Eventually, he managed to convince them to allow him to get a Pokedex. Also, he's not going to show up a whole lot, since he's mostly traveling on his own rather than with our characters.

Cori adjusted her backpack as she continued down the route to New Bark Town. For the most part, the morning had gone encounter-free, which was good. She had no Pokemon, and therefore wouldn't be able to fight off anything that might decide to attack her. Cori knew she was most likely going to be the last person there, since she was from somewhere as far off as Mahogany Town, but she wanted to get to the lab as soon as possible so she didn't hold everyone else back. The thought of getting a Pokemon filled the teenager with excitement, and she jumped up a little with a small squeak of anticipation. However, she lost her balance and almost stumbled off a ledge. Arms pinwheeling wildly, Cori managed to right herself and get down without breaking anything. As she walked into the town, Cori bit back a shout of excitement. She quickly spotted the Pokemon Research Lab and walked towards it.

A young tall boy was heading towards the lab from another pathway which was parallel to the path Cori was on. He had a white cap which covered his black hair almost completely. He had green eyes and was definitely taller than most boys of his age. He had a small smile on his face as he readjusted his messenger, having to take a turn to walk towards the lab on the same path as Cori.

Cori noticed the boy and waved. "Hi! You're going to the lab too, right?" she asked. "My name's Cori, by the way!" Cori extended her hand for the boy to shake, beaming.

(It’s fine, no worries!)

The boy turned to Cori and gave her a small smile before he shook her hand.
“The name’s Luis, nice to meet you” he introduced before letting go of her hand.
“I would guess that we’re about the same age?”

Cori nodded. "Probably. I'm fifteen, and you look about fifteen–maybe a little bit older?–so yeah, we're probably the same age."

“I just turned fifteen a while back actually, so that’s one thing” Luis started back towards the lab, thinking about the starter he was going to choose. He looked at the fields of grass and smiled a bit.

As they got to the lab, there was someone there already. He looked to be their age, possibly a tiny bit younger, and was tapping his foot impatiently. When he saw them, he grinned and waved. "Hey! You guys must be the other new Trainers! About time you showed up, I've been waiting for, like, forever! I'm Adam!"

Cori's smile widened. "Nice to meet you, I'm Cori! And yeah, we're getting our first Pokemon today too!"

(Eeeeeeep! Sorry!)

“I’m Luis, nice to meet you as well” the young man introduced with a smile but with both of his hands in his pockets. He readjusted his messenger bag so that it would be in front of him for safety purposes.

(You're good. Sorry if I'm a little weird about it, I'm just kind of paranoid about this dying because I actually really like my ideas for it lol)

Adam bounced on the balls of his feet. "Well, now that we're all introduced, let's go meet the Professor!" he exclaimed, pushing open the door to the lab.

The sight that unfolded was catastrophic to say the least. Bookshelves were overturned, potted plants were knocked over with soil all over, and there was enough papers and books strewn across the lab to fuel one hell of a bonfire. The Professor himself was in the back of the lab, checking things on a desk and talking frantically on the phone.

Cori's eyes widened, and she stepped backwards a little. "Whoa," she breathed. It looked like a wild Pokemon had torn through the place with the sole intent of destroying everything it could see.

Adam, on the other hand, reacted a little more volatilely. He ran towards the Professor, avoiding stepping on as much as possible. "Professor Elm! What happened?" he asked.

Elm was a little caught off guard. "Aaah–o-oh, hello, you must be the new Trainers." He recovered quickly, Cori had to give him that. "I apologize for the mess, but, well…" Elm rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. "There was a break-in, and as you can see, the intruders completely ransacked my lab."

"Did they take anything?" Cori asked. Professor Elm shook his head.

"Until everything's cleaned up and we can take inventory, there's no way of telling," he admitted. "But you'll be happy to hear that the Starter Pokemon were untouched."

Despite the scene, Luis wasn’t exactly shocked by it. More maybe it was because he was more excited to get his Starter that the intrusion that happened didn’t exactly mattered to him just yet. He turned to the professor.
“So there’re three of us and three of the Starters, right professor?”

(Sorry again for the EXTREMELY late reply, I missed a day of school to get that root canal and am trying to catch up ;-;)

"Yes, so if you'll just wait a second…" Elm proceeded to pick up a box from the desk. When he opened it, Cori saw that the inside was cushioned around three Pokeballs. The Professor released each Pokemon from the ball one at a time. "Your options are Chikorita, the Grass Type Pokemon, Cyndaquil, the Fire Type Pokemon, and Totodile, the Water Type Pokemon."

Almost immediately, Adam went for Totodile. "Hey, buddy!" he said. "My name's Adam, and if you want to come with me, we'll be an awesome team!" With a huge smile, he extended his hand towards the small croc. Totodile tilted its head for a second, then looked at Adam's hand and grabbed it in its own clawed appendage. "All right!" Adam exclaimed.

Cori stifled a giggle at the boy's seemingly unending enthusiasm. A part of her was relieved that he hadn't picked Cyndaquil, who was sliding a stray piece of paper around with its foot. "So which one are you going to chose, Luis?" she asked.

(Also jeez I really like Adam lol. I just can't help but really like the always energetic and happy characters, I guess.)

(Eh, sorry, I kinda died the past few days… heheh)

“I’ll take the grass boy…” he paced towards the pokemon before patting his head and picking him up with both of his hands.
“Yep, I think I’ll take him” Luis confirmed as the creature in his arms let out a happy ‘Chi’ sound. The boy smiled a bit at the sound.
“Guess you have no option?”
