You know, I was just listening to music and I had the idea - what if something from one of my worlds ended up in a world much like ours?
And that’s where the idea came from.

Destroyers: Many things can come to mind when you hear that word, but usually the definition is the same; something that causes a lot of destruction. For whatever reason. Maybe it’s for the greater good. Evil. Or no reason at all.

It’s a pretty normal day when your character, for whatever reason, is just hanging out in a scrapyard. Poking around. Maybe with some friends, maybe alone.

And then they come across it. Maybe they see it. Maybe they literally stumble over it. But it’s clear this thing stands out from everything else - it’s a hand, for godsake - sticking out of the scrap pile. A metal hand at that. A robot? Why would anyone throw away a robot?
Whatever your character does, either turns away from it or tries to investigate more - they quite quickly realize, when something akin to that of a dystopian sci-fi movie rises from the rubble - that it’s probably not supposed to be there.

And what would happen my friend, if you made friends with this being? Or it made friends with you..

So all that being said I’ll move onto the rules.

  1. I will be asking for a writing sample, I've got the right to deny or accept you as needed. Have dialogue as well as text.
  2. I would prefer mature RPers for this. Not that there will be any major smut - just in regards to some of the themes as well as my character’s origins..not that it’s anything majorly bad (and you most likely won’t learn of it unless you really go digging for it, but history can definitely be a touchy topic.)
  3. Ask before joining.
  4. Cursing is allowed.
  5. Violence and blood welcome - there will be a time and place for all of that, though.
For major fights, let's not autohit, but don't dodge everything either (in the event that happens, of course.)
  6. If you have any questions or ideas, feel free to ask.
  7. I would prefer semi-lit into literate RPers. Good grammar is always appreciated.
  8. No one-liners.
  9. I would prefer it be more, but I understand sometimes there isn't much going on, so I only ask that your reply be a minimum of two sentences.
  10. List may or may not change.
  11. Have your character react. Unsure of what to say? Write out their thought process. But also have them actually do things.

The setting for this is a modern, urban town. Fairly large, but pretty spread out - the centre of the city is where you’ll find bigger more city like buildings where the outer edges become more and more sparse the further you go. The town is by a lake.

((Okay! I’m not gonna bother with a writing sample right now because I’ve seen you in other RPs and been in one with you before, so you’re good! Do you have any questions before you fill out the template?))

@PrettyLittlePyro

Name:
Tarantella "Taran" Hunt

Age:
23

Gender:
Female

Sexuality:
Bisexual

Nationality:
American

Employment:
Machine designer, barista at local cafe

Appearance:
Taran looks like she doesn't belong on earth. She has long silver hair, dyed of course, but it was originally black. Her skin is very pale, almost white, and at times makes her look like she's a vampire. She has high cheekbones, plump lips, and a straight nose. She is beautiful, but gives off a stay away aura. She has deep gray eyes, which, framed by her long black eyelashes, looks more silver than gray. She wears as little makeup as possible, because, with her sensitive skin, it causes her, more often than not, to break out in a rash. She is curvy and slender, and about 5'6''. She has a tattoo of a howling wolf on her collarbone, and a tattoo of a serpent weaving around her back and abdomen, all the way to her shoulder, where its head comes out on her left shoulder. She keeps her nails long, and will paint them with black paint. She doesn't take care of her hair, and so it usually sticks up in all directions unless she tames it into a ponytail. Both her ears are pierced, two on each side. Her entire left arm is made of metal to the shoulder, and has many types of special gadgets in it. She will usually wear sweatpants and long sleeve shirts. She doesn't really try very hard with her dressing, and it shows. She looks like she's in constant disorder and disarray, and can look more like a hurricane than anything else.

Clothing:
She doesn't wear fancy clothes if she can help it, but she will change her clothes ever so slightly when she's going out. She always has a gloves over her left hand, to hide her metal hand.

Personality:
Taran is like the weather. She can change in the blink of an eye. She can't control her emotions very well, and is rarely logical, unless she's talking to people who just need to grow up and stop being overly emotional, or stupid. She is kind of arrogant, and hates to talk to new people, or to make friends, and comes across as a very mean, arrogant glacier. But with her friends, she can be a goofball, cracking inappropriate jokes and playing games and being idiots with them. She is extremely loyal, and if someone hurts one of her friends, she gets pissed, and will literally blow apart the world. She has a sharp mind, perfect for pranks, and many people have been at the butt-end of her jokes or pranks. She has a huge playful streak as wide as the ocean, and everyone who knows her well enough is wary of it. She loves to argue, and has fun in debates, and tends to be pretty good in them. She knows exactly what to say to people to make them feel better, or tear them down, and she is a master at bullshitting her way out of things. She is incredibly lazy, and rarely does her job, until the last minute. She is a terrible procrastinator, and knows it, but doesn't really care anymore.

Family:

  • Older brother, Fenrir "Ferris." He's in the navy right now.
  • Younger sister, Victory. Died a few months ago in a car crash.
  • Mother and father. Died with Victory in the same crash.

Hobbies/skills:
She's had a few years of martial arts, so she can fight. She's really good at dancing, too. She can memorize things pretty well, and has made several machines and stuff just from reading books on how to do it. She's a pretty good mechanic/engineer, and will make things in her free time.

Other:
She loves popcorn, with a passion.

(She good?)

((Yes! Very sorry for the major delay. Would you like me to make a starter?))

Name: Talus - coded name is DE367, however as one of the sentient Destroyers, adopted the name Talus.
Age: 25
Gender: Originally programmed without one; additional programming and sentience led to him being referred to as a male, and identifies as such.
Sexuality: Has displayed none, only because he’s not been given a chance to form any attraction. I’d put him as pansexual.
Nationality: Hard to determine, but if we’re going by where he was manufactured, then Albanian.
Employment: Originally coded as a ‘Destroyer Class Robot.’

Appearance: Talus dons the same appearance as the rest of the DE class robots, standing at a height of 6’8”. Obviously designed to be ‘intimidating’, given he wasn’t really made to serve a purpose outside of war. What he’s made of seems to be a heavy armour, even a helmeted head, covering his body from head to non-existent toes. Humanoid of course, and like all DE class robots, pretty bulky build. What he lacks in agility he makes up for durability and power, though.

He’s been painted a charcoal grey and his ‘eyes’ (which in no way are human ones, it is debatable on whether or not they should be considered eyes as opposed to sensors) are a cherry red. What differs him from other DEs is that he’s got a big splotch of orange and purple paint on the left shoulder.
Clothing: Nothing notable. Clothing is hard for his type to find, not that they’d care either way.
Personality: Talus has a base line of codes that he does follow, but given he has independent thought to a degree, he does have a personality. His base line of code is extremely hard to decipher and should be found that it is nearly impossible to remove. Talus himself realizes that. While most of the base line code is hard to detect, some of it can be seen as project (DESIGNATION) at all costs.

Talus himself tends to present a snarky tone occasionally being even sassy. He’s incredibly curious just as he’s stubborn. Although intelligent, he’s not as perceptive as one might hope and thus has trouble picking up certain cues. Subject to change throughout RP.
Family: Unless you count the entire Destroyer Line robots to be his family (over 300) or his creators (a team of over 200) he’s got none. Otherwise he’s got a big family. Pick your poison.
Hobbies/skills: Destroyer Class robots weren’t designed to keep peace, even though they were originally labeled as peacekeepers. It’s quite clear that Talus was designed for shooting, with his wide selection of weapons. He’s got skills in making precise calculations and shooting, but not really making orders for himself - a thing he’s always struggled on. In terms of hobbies, most of it is TBD but I’d say he likes to learn new things, even though learning for him is a lot different than human learning.
Other: Not very agile or fast, pretty durable though. Despite his sentience, he’s prone to miscommunication.

@Mojack group

It was like looking into a big pit of darkness.

And that was exactly what it was to Talus.
Being buried - pinned, whatever, under piles of scrap, wasn’t fun. Especially with the possibility that those were your former brethren. Not that you had any interest in any of them, of course. Talus had no clue where he was. No idea. His power was running on low - he had plenty of it, but he was more so stuck in a lower state of mind until something happened to this pile he was underneath.

Above him, unbeknownst to himself, was a world Talus had never seen or heard of before. Perhaps under a different name, under a different history, but he was not of this world. Thus even if his scanners WERE functional, he was not going to be able to put a name on many things. Troublesome.

So we have our war robot, stuck under a pile of metal and scraps, for god knows how long. And who knows when - or how - he’ll get out.

@PrettyLittlePyro

Taran blew a strand of her silver hair from her face and put her hands on her hips, surveying the scrap yard. Her hands were already disgusting, and so were her clothes, and she probably smelled awful. Not that she cared. She was used to this smell.

She sighed. She had been wanting to find some pieces of scrap that she could use for one of her inventions, but given how big the place was, she probably wouldn't find anything useful, no matter how long she looked.

She sighed again. Better get started now, if she wanted to find anything.

She started up a pile of metal, picking through it with her metal arm. She had worn her spare one, which was good, because it was already covered in dents. She pushed aside a chunk of metal and blinked with surprise. What looked like a robot was lying under it, half covered with other chunks of trash.

"Cool," she breathed.
