Ethan of course, did not want to be here whatsoever. He’d literally rather be anywhere but here. But he had to make sure Jax didn’t get himself killed, or kill someone else. After finally managing to find Jax in the crowd, he was able to relax. Spotting Becca, he went and sat next to her, grumbling out a quiet “hey,” still keeping his eyes on Jax.
She jumped in surprise when Ethan spoke. She'd been so lost in her searching that she hadn't even seen him sit down. "Ah! Oh, hey Ethan. Considering you're here, I'm going to assume that Jax is alive and not getting into trouble?"
“Alive, yes. He’s always getting into trouble, but currently it’s not anything illegal so I’ll leave him be.” He replied, briefly looking over at her before his eyes focused on the crowd again, verifying that Jax was still alive.
She couldn't help but laugh. "Well, someone's gotta do it. Might as well be us, right?"
A small smile graced his lips. “I guess so, but he can really be a handful. At this point I’ll be going grey with stress by the time I’m 25.”
"That's why you've now got me here! To hopefully take at least a little bit of the edge off of that."
“Yeah so maybe the two of us won’t start graying until our forties then.” He chuckled softly. “But yes having you here will definitely be helpful.”
"But what about you? Sure, Jax is our main focus but I don't know the first thing about you."
Well there’s nothing too interesting about me honestly.” He said with a slight shrug, taking his attention off of Jax and focusing on their conversation.
"I call bullshit. Come on, tell me about yourself. I'm curious."
“I mean there’s really not all that much. I’m so busy handling Jax that I don’t have much of a life outside of him.”
"Well you must have some kind of personality. Just start basic. Favorite color?"
“Hmm…probably green.” He offered with a shrug.
"Really now? Hmm, cool. I like blue, personally. But not just normal boring blue. I like midnight blue. That kind of deep, dreaming color that you see right at dusk before the stars appear when it's blending with the blacks and purples of the night sky." She smiled a little, staring off into the distance before shaking herself out of her mini daze. "Ah, sorry, that probably sounded so weird."
He shook his head, a smile on his face. “No it was nice. I could tell exactly what you were talking about. That’s a really pretty color..” Ethan was a little strange but he seemed like a good guy overall.
"You think so? Most people just think I'm crazy when I go off on my mini tangents."
“I don’t think you’re crazy at all. I don’t see why people would find that as strange but then again I don’t really understand people too well most of the time.”
"Yeah, me neither. Boring, the lot of them." She laughed.
He laughed as well, a content smile on his face. “They really are, aren’t they?”
"None of them know how to have fun! Like seriously, they're all so dull it gets so old!"
“Well what’s your idea of fun?” He asked out of curiosity.
"I don't know, rock climbing? Paintball? Lazer tag?"
“Mm yeah those all seem pretty fun.” He commented with a shrug.
"But people always say that my ideas of fun are too aggressive or boyish. Like, I didn't know that activities had genders but whatever."
“Well that’s dumb of people. Society really is weird.” Ethan rolled his eyes.
